This thesis is a qualitative study of a new law that was applied in December 2010. The law is called Lagen om etableringsinsatser fo?r vissa nyanla?nda invandrare, and is meant to help newly arrived immigrants that come to Sweden to establish themselves in the Swedish society. The aim of the study is to see what discourses the Swedish government produces as a result of this new law. Interesting for the study is to see what happens in the implementation stage at a local level, in this case in the municipality of O?rnsko?ldsvik.Theoretically and methodologically I emanate from critical discourse theory and institutional theory.

As the numbers of immigrants to Sweden and the EU are ever increasing even the right-wing populist parties grow faster in number. Sweden, Germany and France are three European countries that receive 90 percent of all asylum seekers and should therefore have a well-established and talked about immigration policy one can think. Yet the political parties in Sweden do not mention much about the immigration policy apart from the political party Sweden Democrats. This study aims to analyze eight different political parties in the Swedish parliament through a textual analysis to see what kind of immigration policy they share. Carl Dahlström has a theory to determine what type of policy a certain party has and whether they want to assimilate or integrate immigrants.

The law firm industry has during the last years met new demanding conditions and one tool to handle these new conditions has been to implement a Knowledge Management system. Large investments have been made in these Knowledge Management systems but the implementations have met many challenges from within the organizations.With a multiple study, based on interviews with Knowledge Management Managers included in a Knowledge Management network, this thesis aims to study the challenges with Knowledge Management and the underlying causes. The result, based on McDermott's theories shows challenges within technical, personal, social and management areas where the law firm need to shift a focus from Information to Knowledge Management, create a culture of trust and integration and use the informal powerbase.The causes for these challenges are found in the base of Mintzbergs theories of Professional bureaucracy where the Knowledge Management is affected by strong self-regulated individualist, a divided organizational structure and industry conditions..

Genom en kvalitativ undersökning har före detta IVIK-elevers upplevelser och tankar kring deras inledande tid i Sverige undersökts, för att se vilka företeelser, personer och händelser som har varit betydelsefulla för ungdomarna då de kommit till ett nytt land med en kultur olik den i deras hemländer. Undersökningen är baserad på intervjuer med kuratorn för introduktionsskolan i Uppsala, samt tre elever som kommer från olika delar av världen och som alla har gått på IVIK. Studien visar att språket är en nyckelfaktor för att kunna skapa nya relationer med andra människor, vilket är en mycket central och viktig del i ungdomarna liv. Fritidsaktiviteter är därefter den faktor som avgör hur väl ungdomarna trivs i det nya landet. Uppsatsens undersökning har analyserats med hjälp av bland annat interaktionistiska teorier, samt termer som integration och socialisering..

Det förekommer omfattande segregering på svenska arbetsmarknaden på grund av mekanismer som finns på samhälls-, struktur- och individnivå. Trots förbud mot etnisk diskriminering upplever många att de blir diskriminerade. Syftet var att undersöka i vilken mån utlandsfödda med svensk högskoleutbildning upplevde diskriminering i arbetslivet. Sju personer, fyra kvinnor och tre män, som hade minst tre års svensk högskoleutbildning intervjuades. Utifrån en induktiv, tematisk analys framträdde ett antal teman.

Tidigare forskning om skapande verksamhet i socialt arbete berör ofta bara en form av skapande, riktad till en specifik målgrupp som exempelvis konst eller trädgårdsodling för gruppen psykisk ohälsa eller teater för gruppen funktionshindrade. Denna studie syftar till att undersöka hur skapande verksamhet, oavsett form fungerar som metod i socialt arbete.Skapande verksamhet i socialt arbete, är en kvalitativ studie som bygger på deltagares upplevelser av att använda sig av skapande metoder, inom det sociala arbetets verksamhetsfält.Studiens teori utgår ifrån analysmetoden grounded theory och bygger på intervjumaterial ifrån fyra fokusgrupper som representerar olika sociala verksamheter i Sverige.Bättre självförtroende, identitetsskapande och lättare integration i samhället är några av slutsatserna som presenteras..

Syftet med detta arbete var att undersöka hur olika aktörer inblandade i introduktionsprocessen av nyanlända invandrare ? myndighetspersoner, SFI-lärare och elever upplever den nuvarande integrationspraktiken präglad av en tydlig arbetsmarknadsorientering och tidsbegränsad svenskundervisning. Fokus låg på invandrare med kort utbildningsbakgrund.Datainsamlingen byggde på semistrukturerade intervjuer med de tre informantgrupperna, urvalet av informanter och analysen följde principerna för en kvalitativ forskningsansats.Resultatet uppvisar klara tecken på motsägelsefullhet angående den rådande integrationspraktiken. Det visar sig att det saknas gemensamma nämnare när det gäller syftet med utbildningen i svenska för invandrare, något som mestadels beror på de olika aktörernas erfarenheter och förväntningar. Av lärarna ses SFI främst som en pedagogisk verksamhet medan myndighetspersonerna tenderar att se på utbildningen som ett renodlat integrations- och arbetsmarknadspolitiskt instrument.

This work is about presenting the weave in a new and different context, by bringing textile and glass together. The work is characterized by material and shape experiments with silver and copper weave and hand blown glass. From experiments and sketches, the work has resulted in four sculptures, symbolizing four selected stages in a lifecycle; the birth, the development, the maturity and the death. One important part of the work has been to combine different materials and techniques.Studies of literature, sketching, handweaving and integration of silver and copper weave in the glass have been important methods in the working process. Inspired by the flower, the human being and the universe, a story about the life cycle has taken shape.The paper describes the working process with choices and analyses.

It is widely recognized that the town of Södertälje, a small Swedish town of 85 000 inhabitants, has alone received more war refugees from Iraq than the US and Canada have put together. Whilst writing this thesis had nearly 6000 Iraqi refugees sought their way to Södertälje since the US invasion in Iraq 2003.Nevertheless, life is not what the media and the government retail. Six of these Iraqi refugees who resided in Södertälje share their life stories in the following thesis. They discuss their escape from Iraq and the difficulties of living in the segregated parts of Södertälje where they solely speak Arabic and Assyrian, whilst learning Swedish at sfi (Svenska för invandrare, Swedish for immigrants). Another distress is related to the unsecure future in Sweden waiting ahead.      The aim of this thesis is to engage in, and highlight the studies of six sfi-students in their endeavor to learn Swedish, whilst struggling through Swedish bureaucracy and experiencing despair due to their situation and uncertain future.       .

Denna studie har genomförts som examensarbete vid institutionen för Pedagogik och lärande vid Luleå tekniska universitet. Syfte med studien är att undersöka grunderna för det didaktiska urvalet i en integrerad undervisning och lärande inom de samhällsorienterande ämnena, samhällskunskap, religionskunskap och historia. Vi har tillämpat både en kvalitativ och en kvantitativ metod, den första i form av intervjuer med lärare och den senare i form av en enkätundersökning besvarad av elever i skolan. Resultatet av studien visar att de flesta elever har kommit i kontakt med ämnesintegrerad undervisning och de är i överlag är positiva till detta arbetssätt. Lärarna genomför ämnesintegrering för att eleverna ska få en större helhetssyn, en bättre förståelse och för att de ska göra en tidsvinst.

The purpose of this thesis is, through both a quantitative and qualitative study, to map out how the interaction appears between the established parties and the radical right-wing party, the Sweden Democrat?s (SD) and their core issue ? immigration in the Swedish parliament. By applying analytical dimensions on the parliamentary protocols regarding the immigration issue between the years of 2010-2012 this study will get an insight on how the argumentation concerning immigration has developed since their entrance into the Swedish parliament in 2010. The result shows that SD, through the rejection treatment of the established parties, fulfilled the three conditions which accordingly to the study's theoretical framework are crucial for the party's future success. In the established parties? reception of SD regarding immigration, SD is, to a large extent, left unchallenged as the established parties rather focus on integration instead of challenge SD in the immigration issue.

Rapportens syfte är att arbeta fram förslag till en hållbar förnyelse av bostadsområdet Gulsparven i Trollhättan, på uppdrag av AB Eidar Trollhättans bostadsbolag. I dagsläget har området energirelaterade problem och är i behov av upprustning. För att komma fram till goda lösningar har litteratur- ochinformationsstudier, intervjuer med erfarna personer samt inventeringar av området gjorts. Förslagen åskådliggörs i form av ritningar samt 3D-vyer.Fyra förslag till förnyelse har tagits fram med olika grad av åtgärder, där två av dem kräver en omprövad detaljplan. Generella åtgärder, vilket gäller i samtliga förslag, är betydelsefulla lösningar för att växa mot rollen som ett hållbart bostadsområde.

The aim of this study was to examine what factors experienced psychotherapists emphasize as central and change developing in psychotherapy. The intention was to highlight the therapists' personal thoughts and experiences of psychotherapeutic change. By personal interviews with three cognitive and three psychodynamic psychotherapists, data was retrieved and then analysed with a qualitative phenomenological and hermeneutical approach. The study revealed great accordance between the psychotherapists regarding the importance of therapeutic relationship, factors connected to therapeutic treatment and flexibility regarding to the method of treatment. Moreover, it has been revealed that psychotherapeutic change in both treatments of psychotherapy is due to integration between emotional and cognitive processes.

Målet med denna uppsats är att försöka få fram vilka som är de avgörande faktorerna som påverkar ungdomar med utländsk härkomst i segregerade områden att studera vidare efter gymnasiet. Metoden som används i uppsatsen är en kvalitativ metod i form av en s.k. livshistorieintervju. Genom att använda sig av livshistorieintervju ges möjligheter för respondenterna att berätta sin historia från uppväxten i hemlandet till Sverige och de nuvarande studierna. Uppsatserna utnyttjar teorier som berör invandrarungdomars skolgång, attityder gentemot det svenska samhället, social habitus, rationellt tänkande samt om de kom frivilligt eller ofrivilligt till Sverige.

Since the introduction of the European citizenship in the Maastricht treaty, social rights havetaken a back seat to the economic and political elements. Nevertheless, over the past yearssocial issues have been increasingly included on the agenda following the universalrecognition of challenges resulting from further economic integration and demographicchange. The extensive research on European social policy so far tend to focus on initiativesput forward by the European Commission, and offers little to explain the multitude of lines ofreasoning on how far EU social policy should be taken or why it still remains one of the leastdeveloped policy areas. By examining plenary debates in the European Parliament concerningfamily policy, this Bachelor thesis aims to describe the complex of problems connected to afurther development of the social dimension of the European citizenship.The analysis finds that the most imminent problems impeding an expansion of the EU familypolicy lie not only in the many clashes of opinions between advocates of the various existingwelfare models, but also in the conflicts of interests and the different levels of ambitionbetween EU institutions - most notably the Commission and the European Parliament..
