The aim of this Masters thesis is to examine how Jane Austens Pride and Prejudice, first published in 1813, was established in different literary orbits after the transformation to the television medium in 1995. I also want to find out what this adaptation meant for the popularity of Jane Austen, the circulation of her works and the rebirth of her authorship. It has furthermore been of interest to discuss the reasons why Jane Austen and her works became so popular. Questions posed in the study are: What has the 1995 production of Pride and Prejudice meant for the spreading of Jane Austens literary work and for the rebirth of her authorship? How has Pride and Prejudice moved between the literary orbits after it became a television-serial in 1995? Why did the circulation get the character it got in the 1990s? In order to find feasible answers to these questions I have used Hans Hertels model of the five literary orbits as theoretical starting point.

En innehållsanalytisk metod används och resultatet visar att trots att båda böckerna lever upp till jämställdhetskravet 40-60 när det gäller representation av män och kvinnor i böckerna kan ingen av dem sägas vara jämlik..

The aim of this essay is to try to find the differences and similarities of two public librariesin the town of Kristinehamn and the rural community of Vara during the year 1994. Especiallyinteresting was if the different political traditions of the two communities -left wing majorityin Kristinehamn and right wing in Vara- have influenced the forming of the public libraries.The comparison contains accounts from the annual reports produced by the libraries between1987 and 1994, a more thorough study of the activities and interviews with decision makers in1994. The interview with the decision makers indicates that there is a distinct difference betweenthe librarians and the rest of the informants, this distinction shows, that in a tight budgetsituation the librarians prefer not to cut down on staff while the other informants actuallyfavour to make cuts on the procedures handled by the librarians. The general opinionthough, is that they all agree that the role of the public libraries is to defend democratic rights.The final conclusion is that the material of this essay supports the opinion that the idea ofpublic libraries is stronger than the political differences in Vara and Kristinehamn..

Vi ämnar undersöka hur informationen om CSR i årsredovisningar har förändrats sedan 1995. Syftet är att se hur informationen har utvecklats över tid, vilka nyanser som har funnits samt vilka intressenters informationskrav som har tillgodosetts.Studien omfattar en innehållsanalys av årsredovisningar. Analysen har gjorts efter en checklista som bygger på indikatorer och principer från GRI. Årsredovisningar från fem svenska företag har granskats i ett tre års intervall mellan 1995 och 2007.Mängden CSR-information i årsredovisningar har ökat stadigt sedan 1995. Fram till 2001 redovisades i princip ingen information kring mänskliga rättigheter, företagets inverkan på samhället eller ekonomiska konsekvenser av CSR.

Uppsatsen undersöker arbetsmiljön på järnverket i Luleå sett ur företagstidningarna Vårt NJA och Luleå Bulletinens synvinklar. Syftet med uppsatsen är att studera synen på och agerandet i arbetsmiljöfrågor vid järnverket i Luleå under perioden 1968-1981. Studien utgår ifrån ett mindre antal frågeställningar som jag besvarar i en slutdiskussion. Något kortfattat lyder dessa: i vilken omfattning arbetsmiljöfrågor behandlas och på vilket sätt dessa behandlas, ser man någon skillnad i syn och agerande i arbetsmiljöfrågor under undersökningsperioden och kan dessa kopplas till 1978-års arbetsmiljölag. Sett utifrån aspekten att undersökningsperioden sträcker sig över tretton år är det inte särskilt många artiklar som behandlar arbetsmiljön.

Studiens syfte har varit att undersöka hur Folkrörelsen Nej till EU Halmstad och Hallandspostens ledare debatterade demokratin i samband med folkomröstningen om det svenska EU-medlemskapet 1994. En kvalitativ diskursanalys har gjorts utifrån kampanjmaterial och tidningsledare inför folkomröstningen 1994 där två specifika diskurser kartlades. Resultatet visade att Nej till EU Halmstad och Hallandspostens ledare hade olika uppfattningar om demokratin i samband med EU eftersom att de valde att fokusera på olika aspekter av medlemskapet. Därmed fördes en diskursiv kamp mellan de båda opinionsbildarna om vad medlemskapet skulle innebära för Sveriges vidkommande. Skillnaden i att fokusera på den demokratiska proceduren eller det politiska resultatet av EU, bidrog till att aktörerna hade olika utgångspunkter för hur de bedrev opinion inför folkomröstningen.

Det är framförallt två övergripande frågor som vi har försökt besvara med denna studien: Hur är situationen vad gäller väg- och tågtrafikinducerade buller- och luftföroreningar i Burlövs Kommun 1994 och hur många av kommunens invånare påverkas av för höga halter/nivåer? The study explores collective action in Sweden between 1980 to 1995 using time-series data from the European Protest and Coercion Database. In spite of severe hardship during the crisis of the early 1990s, Swedish strike-rates declined. However, contention merely shifted from workplaces into the streets; there was indeed a protest movement against austerity, as shown by a series of large demonstrations, and some riots, between 1989 and 1993. Further analysis indicates this movement faded as it was increasingly chanelled into the electoral campaign of the labor pary; having won the 1994 election, the organised labor movement no longer had an interest in sustaining the protest movement against austerity..

A study made on the American stock market has shown that the strat-egy has generated a positive result. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate if pairs trad-ing has been able to create a positive result on the Swedish stock market during the time period of 1995-2004.The data required for this thesis was collected from Stockholm stock exchange and is ad-justed for splits and issues.The pairs trading strategy involves two stages ? identification of pairs and trading signals. The pairs were identified during a period of 12 months.

In 1994 a new Forestry Act was accepted in Sweden. One of the aims of the law is to raise consideration forpreservation of biodiversity. Since the new law got accepted and some time has passed, there now lie someinterest in examining whether the law has been effective towards its purpose. Methods suitable for analysishave been examined during this study. The content of this pilot study is based around five parameters whichcan be used to validate the effects of the new law.

This survey, Let them kill each other, has its aim and purpose to analyze how two of Swedens biggest tabloids, Aftonbladet and Expressen, reported about the Dayton agreement (also known as Dayton Accords, Paris Protocol and Dayton-Paris Agreement). To do so we analyzed both editorials and regular articles from 1995-10-09 to 1995-12-16. We discovered that the main opinion, both regarding editorials and articles, had a negative posture about the possibility for the partners to come to an agreement, and also later on, for the agreement to persist. We also found that the majority of the articles and editorials indicated a plain portrayal of whoever was the ?winning? and ?losing? side of the agreement..
