Wind is used as an energy source all over the world. To be able to use this effectively, there is a need for as good forecasts and forecast models as possible. One of these models is Coupled Ocean/Atmosphere Mesoscale Prediction System (COAMPS®) that is used to calculate short time forecasts. This model is used here to calculate wind speeds at two different areas in Västra Götaland, Bengtsfors and Vänersborg. There are also wind measurements with SODAR stations for these areas.

In this essay we aim at finding an appropriate flash estimator of the quarterly Swedish private consumption (PK). With the aid of the statistics program TRAMO we study if monthly data from the consumer survey (HIP) and retail industry (DH) can be used in a transfer function model (TFM) to forecast PK. In the work of assessing the state of the market and the business trend, fast information from the national accounts is needed for making decisions for the economic politics in Sweden. A way to speed up the information process is to use leading economic indicators to asses this development. Another way to get information faster is to use a flash estimate.

Flertalet företag verkar idag i en värld som kännetecknas av snabba förändringar och hård konkurrens. Det ställs högre krav på organisationers ekonomistyrning vilket medför att den traditionella budgeten ersätts eller kompletteras med ett eller flera verktyg. Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur ett företag använder en metod för att styra sin organisation med rullande prognoser i kombination med balanserade styrkort. För att få svar på detta gjorde vi en fallstudie inom en division i en processindustri. Studien visade att företaget brutit ned sin vision och strategi genom en kombination av verktygen.

A multivariate cross-sectional model is used in this thesis to proxy for expected earnings and to estimate return on equity for 214 companies over the period 2009-2013, using Swedish data. The model, which has never been tested on Swedish data before, is first confirmed to function as a forecasting model for expected return. Furthermore, the model is evaluated through a comparison with two univariate models based on the assumption that return on equity follows a mean reversion process. Forecast accuracy is calculated as the difference of estimated returns and actual returns. The results show that the univariate models' forecasts are superior to the multivariate model's..

Polisen har under de senaste decennierna genomgått ett flertal förändringar i sin organisation och från 00-talet har det förts diskussioner om en eventuell sammanslagning av Polismyndigheten och Rikspolisstyrelsen. År 2008 tillsatte regeringen en parlamentarisk kommitté att utreda ifall Polisens organisation inte lever upp till de krav som regeringen stället på ökad kostnadseffektivitet, högre kvalitet, ökad flexibilitet samt förbättrade resultat. Denna kommitté fick namnet Polisorganisationskommittén och de lämnade den 31 mars 2012 in ett betänkande, vid namnet En svensk sammanhållen polis (SOU 2012:13) som innehåller ett förslag att ombilda Polisen till en myndighet. Syftet med denna studie är därmed att analysera detta betänkande kring Polisens omorganisering för att se om det kan ligga några bakomliggande koncept och idéer till uppkomsten av förslaget. För att få svar på syftet har en kvalitativ studie genomförts med fokus på en riktad innehållsanalys med en deduktiv ansats.

I den här uppsatsen har jag undersökt hur pass-through effekten har förändrats i svenska importpriser på aggregerad nivå och i sju olika industrier. Pass-through effekten definieras som den procentuella förändringen i ett pris som kan härledas till en enprocentig växelkursförändring. Jag har använt rullande regressioner på två olika modeller för att estimera förändringar över tidsperioden 1980 ? 2003. Resultaten visar en nedgång i pass-through effekten i flertalet industrier både på kort och lång sikt.

Forecasting stock market returns is an interesting topic since more and more Swedes enter and invest in this market. Theory implies, however, that such exercises should be impossible. The aim of this thesis is to investigate the possibility to forecast future stock returns by looking at macroeconomic variables? history. The study is limited to the Swedish market as it is based on the OMXS30-index which represents the 30 most exchanged stocks on Stockholms¬börsen, the Swedish stock exchange.

To effectively manage a forest resource for both economic and other values good planning is required. The problem is complex since you want to know which forest to cut and when. Often a hierarchical planning structure is applied, including strategic (long-term), tactical, (medium-term) and operational level. Today SCA Forest is one of few forestry companies in the northern Sweden with an integrated forest wood supply and industry. The goals of the company are to supply their own industries with wood and to manage the resources of the forest through a long-term perspective with satisfactory profitability.

We have by Statistics Sweden (SCB) been given the task of using different dynamic regression models in order to forecast service price index for sea transport. The aim is to see whether these models provide better forecasts than those previously used. This essay aim to identify, estimate and evaluate the selected prediction models. Through our data material we were given access to 28 sightings of sea transport index during the period of 2004 q1 to 2010 q4. We have chosen to evaluate three different transfer function models, one ARIMA model and one naive forecasting model. The input variables we decided to test in our transfer function models were the price of petroleum products, the port activity in Swedish ports and the lending rate of Swedish Central bank. The results of our study suggest that transfer function models generally provide better models than the ARIMA model and the naive forecast model.

This thesis examines the subject of change in public administration from an instrumental and an institutional structure perspective. The purpose of the thesis is to examine whether institutional structures affect the development of instrumental structures and if it in turn is possible to affect institutional structures by changing the instrumental structures. This case study is primarily based on a series of deep interviews with senior administrators and politicians within two new administrations in the municipality Karlstad, both which have been created by merging several smaller administrations, but also thorough analysis of several official document such as protocols from the municipal council meetings, Tja?nsterskrivelser and internal PMs.   The result of the analysis indicates that both institutional structures and the forming instrumental structures affect each other and  that their ability to affect each other depends on the dominance over the organization each structure has.  In my specific research case we can see that the institutional structure of the city-technical and housing administration has affected the outcome but the institutional structure of the cultural and tourism administration hasn?t.  While the structural change of the city-technical and housing administration hasn?t effected the institutional structure but the structural change of the cultural and tourism administration has affected the institutional structure of this specific administration..

Denna studie behandlar tågmästarnas upplevelser av företagskultur och yrkesroll i omorganiseringen 2003/2004, vid SJ AB Stockholm. Det empiriska materialet bygger på kvalitativa forskningsintervjuer med sju tågmästare, som arbetade ombord på x2000 under omorganiseringen.I analys av empirin har vi kunnat se indikatorer på att företagskulturen påverkar tågmästarnas upplevelser av omorganisering. Utifrån deras syn på den aktuella omorganiseringen, tolkar vi det som att förändringar som inte överrensstämmer med grundläggande värderingar och normer i en existerad företagskultur bemöts med ett visst motstånd. Titeln ? en perser och resten flygvärdinnor? är ett citat från en av de intervjuade och vi anser att den ger en illustration över tågmästarnas tankar i omorganiseringen 2003/2004.

Världen befinner sig i en ständig förändring och det blir också allt viktigare att hänga med i denna process för att kunna överleva. Detta gäller även för organisationer som växer och krymper, slås samman eller delas upp, läggs ner eller omstruktureras. Därför kan det vara svårt att tänka sig en organisation med samma form genom hela sin existens. En stor sådan förändring kom att inledas av regeringen, där en sammanslagning av Riksförsäkringsverket (RFV) och de allmänna försäkringskassorna kom att utveckla en av landets största statliga myndighet, Försäkringskassan. Denna omorganisering har uppmärksammats i press och media.

Background: An evaluation of analysts´ forecasting ability is interesting since their estimates constitute an important part in stock valuation and investment decisions. The recent years´ development in the stock market has lead to criticism of analysts? deficient forecasts. Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate analysts´ forecasting ability concerning companies quoted at Stockholmsbörsen between 1987 and 2002. We also intend to discuss possible explanations for analysts? behavior in case of deficient accuracy.

The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate and update load curves for Fortum Distribution AB. Theload curve method is a tool used to forecast the strain of an electric grid. The method is based oncustomer annual energy consumption, outdoors temperature as well as customer category. Theload curve method was established by Svenska Elverksföreningen at the start of the nineties andfocus was put on standardizing annual energyconsumption, in order to make the method usableacross the nation. Present consumption patterns have changed since the original load curves wereproduced, which leads to a need to update the load curves.The work began with an update of present load curves according to recommendation taken fromanother earlier thesis.

Men de krav som kan leda till både organisationsstrukturella och ekonomiska problem behöver inte enbart komma genom press utifrån, utan kan även uppkomma inifrån organisationen.Uppsatsen har som syfte att försöka ta reda på hur en organisation hanterar den psykosociala arbetsmiljön som uppstår i samband med en omorganisation. Författarna har velat se om det går att urskilja tendenser till hur man bäst hanterar alla de känslor som uppkommer hos de drabbade medarbetarna i samband med en förändringsprocess. Uppsatsen ämnar även att söka svar på hur ledningen uppfattar det känslospektra som utspelar sig hos de medarbetare som utsätts för en organisationsförändring.Undersökningen som genomförts har haft en abduktiv ansats där datainsamlingen varit kvalitativ i form av en fallstudie.
