The aim of this essay is to contribute to a better understanding of the prehistoric site Flyhov in the province of V?sterg?tland, Sweden and its immediate surroundings from an archaeological perspective. The site contains material artistic and ritual expressions from different prehistoric periods, and its long use-history (from the Stone Age until today) shows that the site, and its remains, has attracted the interest from people in prehistory, in modern times, as well as today. With a point of departure in perspectives derived from hermeneutics and phenomenology the essay examines the site?s prehistoric remains, the use of, and the interest directed towards, the site and its remains during different time- and use-horizons and how these horizons have been affected and intertwined with each other, in a manner where earlier material expressions have affected people and their new expressions.

Titel: Rockmusic preferences in the Rock programme. Popular culture, music preferences and repertoire inside a teaching institution. This paper raises some questions about the popular music that exists outside as well as inside institutions. From the example of popular music and Rockmusic the students of a music teacher education programme based on Rock music are asked for their taste for music in a brief questionnaire. The answers are compared to those concerning the music they used to like before they entered the education as well as the music played on the ensemble lessons at the programme.

In this report, the risk of cracking in joints and/in adjacent concrete is estimated by checking shear forces in joints and the ratio between the actual maximum principal stress ant the actual strength of the concrete. The shear force has been estimated both by simple methods as well as by two-dimensional calculations. The risk of cracking in the concrete and/or in the joints is estimated with the computer program ConStre. The restraint from a resilient foundation or Rock on a young concrete construction is estimated by a simple method that is exemplified. It is shown that the restraint can be neglected in some cases.

Upphovsmannens ursprungsidé var att skriva ett stycke som skulle kombinera element från influenser inom pop/Rock, jazz, västerländsk konstmusik, elektroakustisk musik och ljudkonst. En stilistisk balans var ett önskat resultat för att undvika polystilism och istället hitta ett tonspråk som tar tillvara på upphovsmannens olika influenser.Efter en konsert som genomfördes med hans egna material inom pop/Rock, kom en insikt att det fanns, utöver det stilistiska, olika attityder till notation kopplat till musicerande mellan traditionerna afro och klassiskt.Ett experiment utfördes där notationssätt med olika styrningsgrad kunde jämföras. Den så kallade slashnotationen blev en grund för ytterligare notationsmässiga utforskningar i stycket som sedan skrevs.Den stilistiska problematiken i kombinationen av influenserna löstes genom styckets form. Tydlig tematik användes, med teman som hade stilistisk rörlighet. Styckets storform utgörs av en stegrande dynamisk utveckling, kopplat med en stilistisk vandring från konstmusik till mer afro-inspirerad musik.

Bergkaraktäriseringssystem såsom RMR och Q (Rock mass rating och Rock tunneling quality index) används ofta i förstadiet av ett byggprojekt för att ge en tidig uppfattning om bergmassans karaktär och kvalitet. Informationen underlättar planeringen och det fortsatta arbetet genom att påvisa korrekta arbetsmetoder och risker. De två vanligaste systemen för att karaktärisera berg är RMR och Q, vilka båda med hjälp av fältbedömningar och beräkning betygsätter den aktuella bergmassan. RMR och Q har här använts för att karaktärisera en bergmassa i Huddinge kommun inför en planerad byggnation. Resultaten av karaktäriseringen med de båda systemen skiljer sig åt på vissa platser vilket sannolikt kan förklaras med systemens olika tillvägagångssätt.

Syftet med denna uppsats var att undersöka vilka skillnader och likheter det finns mellan bassolon som spelas i pop/Rockgenren och de som spelas i jazzgenren. I undersökningen plankades totalt 15 solon, 7 från Rockgenren och 8 från jazzgenren, och skrevs ned på noter. Dessa analyserades sedan och jämfördes mellan genrerna. Undersökningen visade att det finns skillnader men också likheter mellan bassolon i de olika genrerna. De största likheterna var att mollpentan och bluesskalan används i båda genrerna och de största skillnaderna var att i jazz används även approach notes, genomgångstoner med mera.

Syftet med denna uppsats var att genom en genusvetenskaplig och socialkonstruktivistisk ansats undersöka hur kvinnor framställs i de svenska hårdRocksmagasinen Close-Up Magazine och Sweden Rock Magazine. Då majoriteten av den genusrelaterade medieforskningen har intresserat sig för reklam- och modebilder finns en kunskapslucka kring hur kvinnor framställs i bilder inom genrer vid sidan av dessa.Denna studie avsåg att genom semiotisk textanalys undersöka bilder i dessa magasin, för att identifiera de kvinnliga stereotyperna i dem och sedan jämföra dessa med etablerade stereotyper som tidigare forskning påvisat. Sammanlagt analyserades 28 bilder i 15 magasin från 2013 utifrån feministisk blickteori och Goffmans teori om könsframställning.Tre tydliga kvinnliga stereotyper framträdde i resultatet. Dessa benämnde vi som Den hårda, Den medkännande och Den objektifierade. De två sistnämnda är väl kända sedan innan inom forskningssammanhang medan Den hårda kvinnan, som bland annat uppvisar tecken på aggressivitet, avsky och överlägsenhet, inte påträffats i liknande studier innan.

Erik Andersson: Utanför Murarna: En studie av Ulf Lundells och Rockkulturens outsiderpositionering. Uppsala universitet: Institutionen för musikvetenskap, 2007.The main aim of this essay is to show how the artist Ulf Lundell presents himself as someone with an outsider's view of life. This also includes showing that this aspiration is a common one among artists in the Rock culture.The aim was reached by studying texts, lyrics, interviews, articles of and with Lundell and then applying theories about authenticity and performativity on this material. In order to put this in a context I looked at a similar material but with a much broader perspective, artists from different countries, genres and eras is here included.The conclusion of this study is that a kind of norm system in the Rock culture has developed and Lundell is acting accordingly to these rules. The outsider position has become an important ingredient in Lundell's persona and this position can also be seen as a given norm in the wider context.

When a combined heat and power plant produces heat and power it often faces a deficit of heat load during the summer or other periods of time. This heat is often unnecessarily cooled away or the power production has to be reduced or shut off. If it is possible to store heat from periods with low heat demand to periods with high heat demand one can get many benefits. Among these benefits are: increased power production, decreased operation with partial load, uniformly distributed load.To be able to store heat in situations like this long-term thermal heat storages are needed. In this thesis five different types of stores are presented: Rock cavern storage, tank storage, pit water storage, borehole storage and aquifer storage.

Fo?r att ta oss na?rmare syftet utfo?rde vi intervjuer med fyra verksamma ensemblela?rare pa? estetiska programmet pa? gymnasiet. Vi hade a?ven fo?r avsikt att observera en grupp elever vid tre olika lektionstillfa?llen fo?r att koppla samman la?rarnas tankar och a?sikter med vad som ha?nder i praktiken.

Open pit mining creates huge amounts of tailings and waste Rock deposits. Due to it's content of sulphide minerals, predominantly pyrite (FeS2), there is a risk of oxidation and formation of acid water containing heavy metals, known as Acid Rock Drainage (ARD). To prevent the process of oxidation, the tailings and waste Rock have to be reclaimed. The most commonly used methods of reclamation are a coverage of water or soil. Mining also results in a large-scale interference in the landscape that will make an eternal change of its appearance.

Examensarbetets mål är att beskriva och beräkna Arvidsjaurs och Arjeplogs kommuners framtida bergmaterialbehov med utgångspunkt från bygg- och anläggningsprojekt som pågår och som planeras. Syftet är att få en sammanställning som visar om materialet räcker till eller om det finns behov att öppna nya täkter. Sammanställningen kan med fördel användas av kommunerna som planeringsunderlag beträffande nya vägbyggnadsprojekt. Alla tillståndsgivna täkter i Arvidsjaurs och Arjeplogs kommuner har kartlagts och täkternas kapacitet har också tagits fram. Även alla pågående och planerade vägarbeten kommunvis och årsvis från år 2005 fram till 2009 har karterats.

The main purpose of this essay is on one hand to try to find and explain the formula of success of the Rock group Status Quo, and on the other to elucidate and explain the foundation and essence in the music made by Status Quo, but also to study how, if and why the foundation and essence have changed over the years. The method of investigation is partly based on a musical analysis of three albums from three different periods: Hello! (1973), Ain´t Complaining (1988) and Heavy Traffic (2002), and partly on a sociological study of the group?s career between 1962 and today, 2005.The first part of the essay concerns the period between 1962-1973 with an analysis of the album Hello!; the second part concerns the period 1974-1988 and the album Ain´t Complaining; finally, the third part concerns the years between 1989-2002 with an intensified analysis of the album Heavy Traffic. In the forth part of the essay I discuss the career of Status Quo from a sociological point of view.I run to the conclusion that the essence of Status Quo is the boogie-woogie comp on Fender guitar by Rick Parfitt, the riff on Francis Rossis´ Fender guitar in combination with the base, the piano and the drums. This has been the essence through all the years, even though it was more difficult to apprehend it during the 1980s.

The objective of this qualitative study was to contribute to the understanding of how musical activities affect the participants' well-being and empowerment and to investigate which fac-tors contribute to that effect. Invitations were sent to 13 adult participants in a Rock music school in the middle part of Sweden. 7 persons (4 men, 3 women) participated in the study. 4 themes were discussed in focus groups to highlight how informants were affected by the ac-tivity and what factors were important in the context. Results showed that music activities impact on participants' well-being and empowerment through several factors.Themes that appeared were: 1) focus on the present through music, 2) personal development, 3) meaningful leisure activity 4) the group properties.
