The purpose of this qualitative thesis is to describe and analyse the implementation of an education system in the newly independent state, Timor Leste. One question to be discussed is whether an emergency phase is still going on in the development of a functioning school system, or if Timor Leste already reached a capacity building phase? Via the participant's answers in field observations and interviews, the study analyses the clashes between generations, social classes and different levels in relation to the choice of Portuguese as an official language and the international environment in the country. The purpose of the study is to investigate the possible effects of an unstable ventilation system and its influence on energy use and thermal comfort. The report also explores how qualified personal working with HVAC view and handles system control.In order to meet the requirements in energy efficiency and a comfortable indoor climate control regulation is a prerequisite. With optimized increased complexity of the climate systems, it becomes more challenging to control the system and the risk of unstable control increases. No previous studies about what affect an unstable system can have on energy use and thermal comfort have been found.The report is based on several tests were the controlling variable has been increased until the system becomes unstable. Two different types of unstable systems have been investigated.

At Saab Aerospace in Linköping, components for measurement systems to the fighter aircraft JAS 39 Gripen are developed. In this activity you sometimes want to record the traffic transmitted on the data busses that connects different sys-tems. This traffic on the data busses is using the military standard MIL-STD-1553. This project has aimed to create a system for recording and sending 1553-data. The system is used on an ordinary personal computer, equipped with a recon- figurable I/O card that among others has a programmable logic circuit (FPGA).

 This report is an evaluation of Peab's purchase and call-off system, PIA.PIA is used to order goods for Peab's construction sites. The background to the work is that users of the system have understood the system cumbersome to use when purchasing goods for construction sites. The evaluation was carried out by the interviews and tests with users of the program, in this case, supervisors and site managers at the company. Ten users of the system were interviewed and eleven people have carried out a test order.The focus is primarily on the test order that users have implemented, which has been clocked and analyzed for time and cost. The evaluation is also a user analysis concerning how the users perceive the program, mainly in terms of usability, functionality and benefits.The result of this report shows that PIA is economically profitable to use for the purchase of goods for construction sites.

Syftet med arbetet har varit att undersöka om en viss arkitektur kan användas för att underlätta utvecklingen av ett Back Office-system till ett befintligt och komplext verksamhetssystem.För att gränsa av arbetet och hitta de delar som var intressanta att fokusera på genomfördes intervjuer med tre olika personer som hade olika syn på ett Back Office-system genom sin yrkesroll. Intervjuerna resulterade i ett antal önskemål för vad man ville uppnå med ett Back Office-system.Arbetet resulterade i en arkitektur som kan användas för att underlätta utvecklingen av ett Back Office-system till det befintliga verksamhetssystemet samt till verksamhetssystemet självt. Arkitekturen har utvärderats genom att man först ställde en mängd krav på den och sedan studerade hur den klarade av en mängd nya krav som delvis var relaterade till de gamla kraven.Alla tester som gjorts visar på att arkitekturen är väl designad och lätt att underhålla samt att den kommer underlätta den fortsatta utvecklingen av verksamhetssystemet och dess Back Office-system..

The purpose of this Masters thesis is to compare the scheme structure of two national classifications system, namely the Swedish SAB system and the German ASB. It has been assumed that there are no major differences between the two models of classification systems or the main classes into which documents are placed. The classification theory and subject analysis, which form the basic theory on which my research is based, are taken from Dahlberg, Langridge and Rowley. A comparison of 30 monographs classified in the SAB system Sveriges allmänna biblioteksförening and in the German ASB system Allgemeine Systematik für öffentliche Bibliotheken showed that the classification structure was primarily responsible for determining where a particular document was placed. However, despite the fact that the subject in various documents may be similar, my research will demonstrate that the structure of the two codes also depends on different interpretations of the main subject in a document.

Under hösten har ett examensarbete i maskinkonstruktion genomförts på ABBRobotics i Västerås där syftet har varit att konstruera en överarm till en industrirobot.ABB:s industrirobotar har en maximal hanteringsvikt på 500 kg vilket inte alltid ärtillräckligt. Då efterfrågan för en starkare robot ökar så ska detta examensarbeteutreda och ta fram ett konceptförslag på en överarm för 700 kg hanteringsvikt. Enkravspecifikation sattes upp tillsammans med företaget där de viktigaste kravenlistades. Överarmen kan delas in i tre delar med varsin axel, armhuset med axel 4,handleden med axel 5 och tilthuset med axel 6. En avgörande del av examensarbetetär kraftöverföringen med kompaktväxlar till de tre axlarna, då dessa avgör hur restenav överarmen blir.

The purpose of this essay was to compare the Swedish and the Japanese pension system and see if there were any big differences or similarities. I was looking for answers to such questions as if the systems were modelled with the problematic demographic situation in mind and also how these two countries had tried to manage the problems. Path dependency was also a central conception when I studied the reforms of the two pension systems. I mainly used literature and Internet sources in my study. There were many books on the Swedish pension system and the debates that had been going on since the 80's.

In this project, theAutonomous car with microcontrollerand ultrasonic sensors, we are lookingat a way of making a small, regular RCcar autonomous with relatively simplemeans and investigate how the bigcompanies does it to learn more aboutthe development of the autonomous carsand their technology.We used an Arduino Uno R3 supplementedwith an Arduino Motor Shield R3 as ourmicrocontroller board and three HCSR04ultrasonic sensors. By removingalmost all of the old parts of the RCcar,except the two DC motors, andreplacing them with these new parts wemanaged to make a vehicle that drovearound in a room without crashing intoanything. We could have used entirelydifferent sensors, or supplemented theexisting setup with other sensors tomake it even more accurate andobstacle avoiding.

Drawing on a broad theoretical framework that includes theories about globalisation and honourculture, this thesis aim is to demonstrate that globalisation and honourculture, constitute a conceptual network, i.e a structural relational matrix in which concepts are embedded. Being part of conceptual network, these concepts are related to each other ontologically. The idea of conceptual network, and the thesis as a whole, draw upon what has been called ?relational perspective?This study aims to show the impact of globalisation on honourculture. The study shows the importance of narrative in the construction of discursive boundaries.

In this Thesis the possibilities of designing a larger building that is very energy efficient in the sense that it would not need a conventional heating system are discussed. Solar radiation transmitted through the windows, internal heat from occupants, lamps and electric appliances inside the building and heat recovered from the ventilation system then have to be sufficient for the heating of the building. This study is of general interest since the property company, Akademiska Hus, plans to use this study as a first step in determining if this technique could be used in the future and thus be worth further investments. A building without a conventional heating system of the size investigated in this project has not yet been built.The energy needed for the heating of the building was simulated using VIP+.The conclusions from the study are that it is possible to build large buildings without any conventional heating system. This could be achieved in many different ways, for example by lowering the inside temperature or by using better windows and heat recovery system with higher efficiency.

The purpose of this paper is to make an analysis of the urban Roman water system. I have chosen to work with the system as a general field, not as a case study of a single town. In my opinion such a study would not give a proper and fair view of the subject. Therefore, this paper will discuss the different parts of the system, each one for itself and name examples wherever possible, to give a wide survey of the reality of the Roman water supply system. The aim is to give the reader a clear picture of different solutions used in the time of the early Roman Empire and a good understanding of the subject..

Denna uppsats handlar om medelålders personers inställningar till robotar i vården. Utmaningen är att fylla gapet som skapas mellan ökandet av äldre och minskandet av vårdgivare. Robotar i hemmet ska fungera som ett hjälpmedel för äldre personer där de ska kunna bo själva längre och även känna självständighet. Uppsatsen undersöker hur personer mellan 40 och 60 år ser på robotar i hemmet och om de hade kunnat tänka sig ha en sådan hemma när de blir äldre. En jämförelse görs mellan 20-40 åringar från en tidigare studie som genomfördes för ca 15 år sedan och dagens 40-60 åringar för att ge svar på frågan: Har synen på robotar och inställningen till dessa förändrats över tid sedan den sista undersökningen år 1998? Vilka mönster finns det ? likheter och skillnader?.
