Reformation of the credit rating industry - Is there a need?
The credit rating industry is a complex and fascinating industry. Its history stretches back more than 150 years and has gradually increased in importance. During its history the dynamics of the industry have changed. The extended-principal-agent model was developed by synthesizing different principal-agent-relationships into one model. This model provides a holistic understanding of the credit rating industry and illustrates the interdependence between the different relationships.

Swedish healthcare systems have endured harsh criticism from healthcare professionals because of their inability to understand healthcare processes. These systems have been identified as significant time consumers, and Swedish healthcare is therefore facing a major challenge to assure patient safety. The following paper is based on a workplace study, which aims to examine healthcare systems? impact on physicians? practices. Our findings show that physicians spend substantial amounts of time chasing information, rather than managing information and pursuing healthcare.
Professionell färdighetsutveckling på ett civilingenjörsprogram : en utvärdering av kompetenser hos alumner
The Master of Science in Energy Systems Engineering program at Uppsala University started in 2000 and 221 students has graduated since. This master thesis aims to answer what competencies alumni considers most important for successful professional practice. It also seeks to find out how these competencies are reflected in the program to identify potential gaps between importance and how the competencies are being prepared. With inspiration from similar research a method has been developed consisting of two steps: (1) A survey and (2) interviews with alumni. The alumni survey rates the professional importance of 13 competencies and how well the corresponding competency is prepared in the program.

The purpose of this report was to investigate what characterizes a good psychosocialwork environment, and whether it may have impact on a vessel's safe voyage. Thisreport is proposed to increase the understanding of what creates a good psychosocialwork environment and its potential effect on safety at sea. In order to find out thesuccess factors for a good work environment group interviews were conducted in socalledunstructured focus groups. During these conversations, the participants discussedfreely by the question "what is a good psychosocial work environment for you?? Thesuccess factors were thereafter applied on selected accident reports, to investigate theextent to which they were represented and taken into account.The results of the study show three categories of factors: colleagues, communicationand competence, where colleagues are the main contribution to a good psychosocialwork environment.

The aim of this project has been to raise the production efficiency of Daliff Precision Engineering through reduced transportation time and a more standardized manufacturing process. The problem has upraised because of a big and diversified product flora without any standard products and with just small batches ordered. The report also tries to show the work procedure with general analytical methods and be an example of how a similar problem can be resolved. The transportation time is being proposed to be reduced through a change in the layout of the factory. By moving a few manual machines, dispatch and burring to more efficient locations, the total transportation time will be reduced by 55 %.
Basel 2 - En studie om regelverkets tillförlitlighet hos det svenska bankväsendet
Vårt syfte med uppsatsen är att analysera de nya kapitaltäckningsreglerna i Basel II och hur de kommer att fungera för det svenska bankväsendet. Vår fokus kommer att ligga på den högre riskkänslighet som införs och om reglerna minskar risken för framtida finansiella kriser i Sverige. Vi har valt en kvalitativ forskningsansats med två undersökningar. Den första är en kartläggning av den internationella debatten kring Basel II. Den andra är intervjuer med fyra banker, bankföreningen, Riksbanken, Finansinspektionen och två revisionsbolag.Vår slutsats är att det svenska bankväsendet har förtroende för Basel II i den mån att det främjar den finansiella stabiliteten.

Trough the contact with the HR (Human Resources) department of home care management in Halmstad municipality, emerged from the management a wish for a documentation for what should be included in leadership at middle management level in the future. People in middle management positions have a large impact on the operation staff and are also in charge of the individual corporate performance and its success. As we have previously been active in the management of multiple role configurations, including middle-management positions, we have some prior understanding of the complexity of this position. The study was conducted with the aim to investigate different aspects of what leadership for middle managers in home care management in Halmstad municipality may mean to them. With the help of different theories and models various aspects were analyzed due to the impact of leadership.Due to the studies purpose and questions, two focus groups was conducted and interviews with respondents from both the lower and superior positions in home care management in Halmstad municipality was done.

Småbolagseffekten - en empirisk studie av en anomali på stockholmsbörsen
Uppsatsen undersöker småbolagseffekten under tidsperioden 1996-2005 på stockholmsbörsen. Inget statistiskt säkerställt samband mellan bolagens storlek och deras avkastning gick att finna. Detta till trots fann undersökningen tendenser till vissa mönster som skulle kunna härledas till småbolagseffekten enligt tidigare studier. Undersökningsmetoden var av kvantitativ natur och baserades på en jämförelse av två portföljer över åren. En portfölj innehöll de 15 största bolagen på stockholmsbörsens A- och O-listor och den andra portföljen bestod av de minsta.

The contents of the management system vary depending of the activity of the specific organisation. An accurate management system is crucial in order to assure that rules and regulations are fullfilled. The OHSAS 18001 standard covering OH&S management is intended to provide organizations with the elements of an efficient OH&S management system. The work with this thesis was done at Swemat AB in Härnösand wich is a mechanical industry. In the thesis, the requirements of the OHSAS standard are compared with the current management system.
