Swedish Trotting association was formed in 1925. They are the ones who design the regulations concerning what is permissible and not permissible for the horse, driver and trainer, when they have a license at a Swedish racing track. The Veterinary department of Swedish Trotting association decides in consultation with representatives from veterinaries around the country what is allowed and not allowed, based proven experience, combined with the availability of scientific data and Veterinary Department's own assessment. After stricter regulations for good animal welfare from the Swedish government, Swedish Trotting association is going to work out a workable model for how new equipment can be tested in the future to see how the equipment affects the horse. In the future, all equipment will be objectively tested before approved. The purpose of this work was to develop a well-functioning model for this. The research-question for this work is: Is this study design a well-functioning model of how the equipment should be tested in the future? The equipment used for designing this model was bitless bridle with a bit.

The low bearing capacity of roads during the spring thaw and periods in the autumn leads every year to increases costs for Holmen Skog. To reduce costs and increase accessibility Holmen Skog decided to install and test a CTI-system. Central tire inflation (CTI) is a system that makes it possible to monitor and vary a vehicle?s tire inflation pressures from the cabin, while the vehicle is in motion. When tire pressures are reduced, the area of the contact surface between the tire and the road increases, thus reducing the ground pressure. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the CTI-equipped vehicle and analyze if the CTI technology is economical defensible during the thaw 2005.

The horse has been domesticated for several thousand years. It has gone from being used primarily for food and transportation, to become one of the most popular pets in Sweden. With over 150,000 practitioners, horseback riding is one of the biggest sports in Sweden and there is a variety of specializations to choose from. One orientation is western riding which is a broad sport with several disciplines where most originate in cattle work and other ranch tasks. Western riding is a growing sport in Sweden with an increasing number of practitioners and with many different organizations and associations, it is important that the correct knowledge of the equipment used is disseminated. Artificial aids are available in a variety of designs and the most common variants used by western Riders in Sweden is draw reins or some forms of martingale.

Humans attitudes towards different animals are very complex were culture, genetic, psychology and evolution are some of the factors that influence. The order of animals that can provoke the most intense and extreme attitudes, both positive and negative, are the carnivores. Wolves are a constant debate in Sweden and even though a big part of the population are neutral towards the wolf, a clear friction of the attitudes can be seen. Some factors that have been seen to influence the attitude are age, education and the size of the hometown. The aim of this study is to investigate whether outdoor activities, time spend in rural areas, and time spent in a weekend cottage, also correlate with attitude towards wolf.

What considerations should be taken concerning the existing situation? What is an appropriate size for the new development? Where is it possible to build and what is the most appropriate method to use?In this master´s thesis I have tried to develop and describe a working-process where I execute a complete landscape character analysis for the whole community in question to get the answers to where and how it would be most appropriate to develop a village like Flädie without destroying its current character.Flädie is a typical small village in the countryside of Skåne, Sweden. It is strongly effected by the expansive and urban region it?s located in but is still rural in character.

Syfte Syftet med vår uppsats är att skapa förståelse för hur ett företag kan arbeta med ett strategisk Human Resource Management (SHRM), samt hur SHRM kan fungera som ett ledningsverktyg för att frambringa överensstämmelse inom skilda kulturella grunder.Metod Vår uppsats är baserad på en kvalitativ metod där vi valt att angripa vårt problemområde via en abduktiv ansats för att kunna växla mellan empiri och teori. För att studera vårt problemområde har vi genomfört en fallstudie av ett medelstort företag inom försäkringsbranschen.Empiri Vi har valt att utgå från ett ledarperspektiv och kompletterat studien med medarbetarnas röst. Våra empiriska data har vi erhållit genom kvalitativa intervjuer med utvalda respondenter.Teori Vi har valt att beröra området för organisationskultur såväl som Strategisk Human Resource Management (SHRM). I vår studie har vi belyst hur organisationers ledare kan tillämpa SHRM för att skapa en harmoniserad organisationskultur. Vi har lagt vikt vid teorier som Bang (1999), Korczynski (2002), Millmoreet al.

It is important to ensure and develop the Swedish model for riding schools, since the pupils at a Swedish riding school learn both to Ride and to handle horses. There is a pronounced problem of stagnation and in some cases a reduced demand in several of the equine industry sectors including breeding with decreased coverings. The aim of this study was to cast light on how representatives from the horse industry looks at riding schools and their recruitment of horses in the next five years. The research issue was ?Will there be difficulties regarding horse recruitment in 2020 and in that case, what are the consequences?? The results of this work consist mostly of material from a workshop on how the riding school will be affected by reduced breeding in the future.

Hållbar utveckling är ett begrepp som hörs överallt idag. Men vad betyder det och vad är en hållbar stad? Som blivande landskapsarkitekt har jag blivit intresserad av vad jag kan göra i framtiden för att främja en hållbar stadsutveckling. Syftet med uppsatsen är således att öka min förståelse för hur planerare kan främja utvecklandet av en hållbar stad samt att andra inom samma yrkesområde skall kunna ta del av mina insikter. Jag har i denna uppsats fördjupat mig i hur svenska städer idag arbetar med hållbara lösningar med litteraturstudie som främsta metod. Inledningsvis i uppsatsen, tas grundläggande mål, riktlinjer och regler upp för att ge en grund till följande redogörelser.

Eventing is often called as the formula 1 in equestrian sports and comprises three disciplines: dressage, show jumping and cross-country. The sport provides excitement, challenge and joy and is the ultimate sport for intelligent Riders and horses. Many are fascinated by the challenges the sport offers while other consider it foolhardy to Ride a cross-country. Eventing is not a risk-free sport and has even been given the label of being one of the world´s most dangerous sports. What do those risks mean to the horse? And particularly, is it associated with good animal ethics to use the horse for eventing? Finding answers to these questions is not easy as it probably is not a clear and simple answer.

A large part of the interactions between horse and Rider during horseback riding takes place through the reins and the bit and devices for measuring the tension on the reins, rein tension meters, has fairly recently been developed. To safeguard the welfare of the ridden horse Riders need to be aware of the rein tension they apply and actively work to decrease it. Furthermore, there is a need to develop the study of rein tension through new techniques and refined analysis procedures. A good-quality rein tension meter should be small in size, sensitive, durable and as accurate for light rein tension as for strong forces. Rein tension meters used in research on horse and Rider interaction commonly depend on strain gauge technique for generating rein tension data.

This study aims to look into what are the factors that influence the choice of transport mode for dwellers in the outskirts of a town when going to out-of-town shopping centres.
