This study has its background in the debate about religion and the existence of God, which has been an ongoing issue throughout the Western cultural tradition. Today´s information society has been an impact on the increasing interest for this subject. The essay?s main task is to accomplish a rhetorical analysis of two books, Illusionen om Gud (2008) by atheist Richard Dawkins and Guds dödgrävare (2010) by Christian John Lennox, in order to investigate the authors? use of rhetorical strategies to influence their audience. The texts are studied using a qualitative approach with the theoretical basis of some well-defined rhetorical variables: ethical, logical and pathetic means of persuasion, propaganda, and the important factor that a message always is presented in a certain context in which the recipients both have their own values and subjects to general truths and common frames of reference.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka representationen av HBTQ-personer i kristna nyhetstidningar i Sverige. Frågeställningen innefattar hur dessa representeras, vilka som representerar dem och hur representationen förhåller sig till Rainer Forsts toleranskriterier. Materialet består av opinionsmaterial från Kyrkans Tidning, Dagen och Världen Idag, och i analysen behandlas artiklar från år 2009 och 2014. För att undersöka representationen har jag har gjort en kritisk diskursanalys utifrån Fairclough. Jag har även lyft in teorier om stereotypisering av Stuart Hall och Richard Dyer, representation av HBTQ-personer av Shiri Eisner och könsnormer av Judith Butler.

Hence, I find similarities between the motif-circuits, Ricoeur?s metaphor-theory and Richards?s themes.

The purpose of this project has been to redesign an already existing cook-book. The title of the book (directly translated), ?Season in food ? the year around with herbs and spices?, contains what the headline imposes: spices, herbs and food. But when the author tries to entwine these parts and communicate it to the reader it is not working all to well due to a poor and inconsistent graphic design.I have followed the theories and values of information design when I redesigned the book layout with the intent to simplify the communication between author and reader. In the progress to make a complete dummie of the book I did multiple literature studies, book analysis, tests and a vast number of drafts.In this report I will describe the whole process from start to finish.

This essay intends to examine the atheists Richard Dawkins, Daniel Dennett, Sam Harris, Christopher Hitchens and Michel Onfray's arguments against religion, based on the themes of religion, atheism and the perception.of their present worldview. In addition, the research aims to find out whether it is suitable to talk about a new atheism. And, if so, whether such newatheism correspond with the definition represented by the Christian critics. The essay intends to contribute to a very limited research on the so-called new atheism without applying pro-religious arguments.Previous research and theory highlight the problem of defining the terms atheism, religion and secularism a concern that is reflected by the five critics troughout their arguments. What really united the critics were the idea about religion taking too much place in society, and the opinion that atheistic morality is at least as good as religious morality.

Detta baseras på Klines, Peuters och Dyer-Withefords teori om Three Circuits of interactivity; Teknik, Marknadsföring och Kultur. Dessa tre delar utgör e-sport.Alla spel som finns på marknaden idag är tävlingsinriktade och går ut på att lösa problem, men alla spel är inte e-sporter och det finns även spel som försvunnit från scenen. Vi ville undersöka hur detta var möjligt. Vilka faktorer är det som gör att vissa spel bli e-sporter?Vi samlade information under DreamHack Vinter 2011 från flera källor inom e-sport.

The background to this thesis is the debate of the last decades within exegetics, concerning the so called "New Perspective on Paul". Starting from this discussion, the thesis is aming to investigateand discuss the function of Abraham in Paul's argument in Romans 4. This is achieved by, to start with, a thoroughly examination and analysis of different translations of Romans 4:1. Secondly, by trying how the translation suggested by Richard B. Hays can be motivated using a narrative perspective of interpretation emphazising the context of covenant history of the text, and thirdly, by examin and discuss other interpretations of the text and compare their ability to bring intelligibility to the text.

Fem låtar från Richard Pages skiva Peculiar Life har analyserats med syfte att ta reda på vad det är som ger dem dess sound. Analyserna har gjorts genom läsning av bookleten till skivan, informationssökning på internet, genom att titta på videodagbok från inspelning av skivan och genom att lyssna på låtarna. Analyserna har delats upp i kategorierna skriven information, video, utrustning och låtanalyser. Analyserna har visat att alla led i produktionen har stor betydelse för slutresultatet. Informationen som samlats in har använts till att återskapa soundet genom att komponera, arrangera, producera, spela in och mixa fem egna låtar baserat på analyserna.

Uppsatsens syfte var att undersöka samspelet mellan porträttör och beställare i porträttets fält. Med hjälp av tre fallstudier med porträtt från tre olika tidsepoker har samspelet analyserats. De tre fallstudierna är Alexanders Roslins porträtt av Fredrik Sparre, Richard Avedons porträtt av Jacqueline och John F Kennedy och skolfotografens porträtt av eleven. Bourdieus sociologiska terminologi och betraktelsesätt har till viss del använts för att försöka förstå detta samspel. Man skulle kunna tro att ett porträtt skapas på ungefär samma vis varje gång men de olika porträttens historier i den här uppsatsen skiljer sig markant åt.

Uppsatsen behandlar den svenska medierapporteringen kring Turkiet och EU. Syftet var att undersöka om det fanns några imperialistiska och- eller kolonialistiska tankestrukturer i artiklarna kring Turkiets EU-anslutning i Dagens Nyheter och Svenska Dagbladet. Frågeställningen ämnade till att undersöka två frågor. Den första frågan syftade till att redogöra för hur rapporteringen kring Turkiet och EU sett ut i DN och SvD från och med 1999-då Turkiet officiellt accepterades som kandidatland till EU?fram till 2008.
