Upp eller ut? Ut tack!: En studie om frivillig personalomsättning på managementkonsultfirmor
The purpose of this thesis is to understand the reasons to why management consultants choose to leave their positions at large and established management consultant companies. The empirical data are made up of eleven interviews with men and women, both management consultants that have left their previous positions as well as a consultant who has chosen to stay with her first company and a representative from one of the large companies active within the management consultant industry. We have used the Job Embeddedness Theory combined with theories about identity, legitimacy, institutional norms and gender in order to understand the thoughts and reasoning behind the management consultants´ resignation. We have found that issues with the work itself and characteristics of the industry prevent the management consultants from being embedded within the management consultant company. Rather, some of the characteristics of the industry such as ?up or out? and the need to constantly perform work as a ?pushing-out mechanism?.
Talent Management : Möjlighet eller hot? Sett ur HR-anställdas perspektiv.
The purpose of this study is to contribute with new knowledge of how Talent Management can be seen as a an opportunity or threat for organizational development, concerning competence, on the basis of HR. The research questions asked are: Out of wich aspects can Talent Management be seen as an opportunity or threat on the basis of HR-employees? How can it affect the work of HR? To answer these questions qualitative interviews with five employees within HR from four different companies has been executed. The essay has been investigated on the basis of an explorative aim and with a qualitative method. The empirical results has indicated common themes such as director support, HRs view of Talent Management, HRs development and shifts of generations.

The aim of this study is to investigate the problematisation of the swedish railwaysector during the early 1990?s from a New public management-perspective. The method of approach is a ?What is the problem represented to be?-analysis as advocated by Carol Bacchi. By applying this method to the official investigation aimed at providing suggestions for increasing competition in the railway sector it has been shown that the process of deregulation has strong connections to the ideas and models suggested by the New public management-ideology of organisational theory. .

Interim Management ? The way to capture a manager´s true value
The thesis has two aims to first describe the phenomena by explaining how interim management works and what the charachteristics of an interim manger are. The second aim is to look at the value issue of interim management; What value does an interim manager provide to a company and how do interim managers try to capture and cultivate this?The qualitative method has been used. The interim management market analysed in this thesis can be stated to consist of three parts; the interim manager as a provider of knowledge, a client firm in need of a temporary manager, and an interim agency in between working as an intermediary/supplier. The characteristics of interim managers are; they are in general self-employers and rather generalists than specialists, meaning they are experienced and have great knowledge skills.

AbstractA useful tool for companies to use in their differentiation process is proposed to be employee branding. Employee branding is developed and put forth by the management with the main task to formulate the brands vision and values, and communicate them to the employees. To promote the employee engagement and their relationship with the company, corporate storytelling can be applied, with is an internal communication that strengthens the internal rumour and values that represent the brand. Since engagement and motivation is important factors when creating a strong employee brand, there is a need for further research on how corporate storytelling is used by companies to influence employee engagement and motivation, as corporate storytelling leads to deeper commitment among employees.PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to explore how companies use corporate storytelling to influence their employee branding.MethodologyThe authors conducted a qualitative case study on how the retail organization Boomerang. The empirical material was collected thru semi-structured interviews with Boomerangs management and employees.ConclusionThe conclusion shows that the employees prefers when corporate storytelling and various communication is put in context, this because it?s easier for the employees to understand.

Detaljhandelsarbete har målats upp som ett lågstatusyrke i såväl media, litteratur, som av branschen själv under alla de tre år som vi har studerat Retail management vid Lunds Universitet. Med hjälp av teorier kring status och angränsande begrepp, samt intervjuer med företrädare för både arbetsgivar- och arbetstagarorganisationer försöker vi i denna studie finna svar på vad som förklarar varför arbete inom detaljhandeln har den status det har. Vi söker också svar på varför branschen vill höja statusen samt vilka åtgärder som vidtas, och kan vidtas, för att lyckas med detta.I uppsatsen förklaras detaljhandelsarbetets låga status med att det är en bransch som kännetecknas av obekväma arbetstider, många deltidsanställningar, kvinnodominans, en stor andel okvalificerade arbetsuppgifter samt en låg lönenivå.Denna studie visar också att de olika branschaktörerna har delvis olika motiv till att vilja höja statusen. Arbetsgivarsidan ser en höjd status som en möjlighet till att attrahera fler sökande med högre kompetens till branschen vilket förbättrar företagens konkurrenskraft, medan arbetstagarsidan, representerade av fackförbunden, ser en möjlighet till förbättrade arbetsvillkor. För att uppnå statusmålet vill arbetsgivarsidan tydliggöra karriärvägarna inom detaljhandeln samt öka den formella kompetensnivån.
