This essay was to investigate what self-image public libraries convey on Facebook and what image is received by the users, along with comparison of those. It was investigated if the received image corresponded with the users? previous image of public libraries. The method used was interviews with the Facebook administrators and surveys with the users. The theoretical framework was Kotler?s model for image creation.The research is mainly American and shows Facebook as an accepted marketing tool for libraries among students, but as not taken seriously by the library staff.

A literature study and a field trial have been carried out in order to investigate the physiological response of potato plants to different soil moisture levels. Higher yield, quality and number of tubers can according to the literature be obtained if constant high soil moisture is kept during major parts of the growing season. A field trial was set up where drip irrigation was used as an alternative to conventional irrigation techniques to maintain high and constant soil moisture. The application of water in the drip irrigated area was monitored and adjusted on a daily basis so that the soil moisture stayed as close as possible to the recommended level. The sprinkle irrigated area was irrigated according to traditional practices with approximately 35 mm every 7th to 10th day depending on the whether.

Method A qualitative study using semi-structured interviews for deeper access to the what the people I interviewed feel about the subject. The interviews are conducted with IF Elfsborgs club president Stefan Andreasson, Goran Lohne who works with media and events, and Eric Sjölin who are supportercontact. In addition to those I alsointerviewed the supporters club Guliganernas President Anders Hultin. Analysis and conclusion The first impression and attitude is very important when a person goes from a one-timebuyers into loyal customers. This is both the theories and the interviewees opinion. Through staff training and records of how the club would like the first impression and attitude to be the clubs can reach a good level of first impression. Patienter som ska genomgå en undersökning känner ofta oro och ångest inför detta. Ett sätt att reducera oron och ångesten kan vara att låta patienten lyssna på musik under undersökningar som på något sätt kan vara ångestladdade för patienterna. Studier i ämnet har visat på god effekt av musik. Syftet med studien var att genom en systematisk litteraturöversikt undersöka musikens påverkan på patienters ångest/oro under pågående undersökningar. Litteraturöversikten baserades på tre frågeställningar som utvecklats från syftet: reducerar musik ångest/oro hos patienter under pågående undersökningar, påverkar musiken övervakningsparametrar som pulsfrekvens och blodtryck hos patienterna, och påverkar musiken patienternas till ett minskat intag av lugnande och smärtstillande läkemedelsanvändning före och under undersökningen? Studien omfattade tretton artiklar som granskades utifrån dessa tre frågeställningar.

This paper examines the impact of the congruence between the background music and the brand image on the customer behaviour in retail store. The essay's hypotheses are built after the famous S-O-R-model that unveils if congruence background music affects the customers' emotions, brand image and response. The aim of the study is mainly to answer if the congruent background music stimuli in the retail store environment will affect the customer's emotions and if it will increase spent time and money. The congruent background music has been selected through two pre-studies based on consumers' brand image. A quantitative study has been conducted where triangulation was applied in a real store environment, where in total 201 surveys was collected for the main study.

The purpose of this thesis is to study to what extent the methodological theories are being reflected in the construction of user surveys at public libraries in Sweden. The study has been conducted as a qualitative literature study in two parts. The first part is an examination of literature concerning survey methodology; the second part is a study of three user surveys conducted at Swedish public libraries after 1995. Our main results indicate that the theories about methodology are followed in part, though it cannot be determined whether this is due to any actual methodological studies, common sense, or just copying other surveys. In our study we have found some areas of user survey construction that need further attention and that would benefit from more extensive methodology studies on the part of survey designers.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to study how public librarians? view mediation of fiction: the knowledge needed, the thoughts expressed about their own and other adults reading of fiction and how the informants define their roles as mediators of fiction. The method used was qualitative interviews with six librarians at main libraries in Swedish cities of different sizes. The theoretical starting points are Louise M. Rosenblatt?s reader-response theory, Michail Bachtin?s theory of speech genres and Åse Tveit?s and Jofrid Karner Smidt?s theories about mediation of fiction.

Syftet med denna studie var att göra en sammanställning av evidens för munvård som intervention vid förebyggande av luftvägsinfektioner hos äldre personer som har stor risk att drabbas av luftvägsinfektioner och som vårdas på sjukhus, äldreboenden eller inom hemsjukvård. Detta är en evidensstudie baserad på åtta veteskapliga artiklar. Resultatet visar att munvård kan reducera tungplack- och tandplackindex och antal bakterier i saliven som kan leda till pneumoni genom aspiration till nedre luftvägar. Personer med dåligt plackindex som inte får professionell munvård, har betydligt fler antal febrila dagar och fall av pneumoni än de som får professionell munvård. En kombination av god och professionell munvård kan reducera uppkomsten av pneumoni genom att den förbättrar hostreflexernas känslighet eftersom en försämrad sådan är en känd riskfaktor för utveckling av pneumoni.

The major part of the existing research on psychological effects on participating in war or residing in a war zone shows negative effects on the person?s mental health. However not all research, from an international perspective, shows the same results. Since we haven?t found any research regarding Swedish conditions and there has been a recent implementation of a decision from the Supreme Commander regarding commanded international service for all staff within the Swedish armed forces, the question has now become more relevant.

This retrospective study aimed to examine differences at age fivebetween twenty-six internationally adopted and twenty-six Swedish-bornchildren with cleft lip and palate regarding age of surgery, speech andintervention. Correlation between age of surgery and speechvariables andgender differences was examined. Blind assessment of audio recordedsentence repetition or naming of words was performed by two speechpathologists. Soft palate was closed significantly later for the study groupthan the control group. Age at closure of hard palate did not differ.

The national spatial planning guidelines and the subsequent legal regulation in the Natural Resources Act and the Environmental Code has been a part of the Swedish planning system for almost 40 years. In the recent years, critics have claimed that the regulations are outdated and does not work the way it was intended. This paper examines closer why it is perceived that the regulations does not work, with a focus on how the national interests are managed in the municipal planning. Why is the national interests not applied in the municipal planning as intended? Is the error in the system or in the implementation of it? The aim of this essay is to study the gap between theory and practice by studying how the land management provisions in the Environmental Code is applied in five selected municipalities.

Hästar har funnits vid människans sida i över 6000 år och används sedan några decennier tillbaka inom humanvården i form av så kallad hästunderstödd terapi. Syftet med den här litteraturstudien är att redogöra för bakgrunden till att hästar kan användas till detta, vilka effekter som kan ses med fokus på behandling av barn med autism och äldre personer samt överskådligt ta upp vilka risker som finns associerade med terapiformen. Framför allt är det egenskapen av att vara ett flockdjur som gör att hästar kan används inom psykoterapi. Hästar är känsliga för andra individers signaler och reagerar utifrån dessa vilket har visat sig användbart för att hjälpa människor att stärka sin självbild och tillit. Utöver den psykologiska aspekten av hästunderstödd terapi finns också den fysiska. Inom ridterapi drar man nytta av hästens rörelsemönster för att stärka bland annat muskelfunktion och balans hos människor med fysiska funktionsnedsättningar.

The aim of this essay was to study if social workers have a gender awareness in the social work they perform and if it appears in the assessment of needs and intervention. A qualitative vignette study with four social workers who handle adult- and addictive clients have been performed. Gender theory is used to interpret the empirical results. The results of the study show that social workers doesn´t see any differences in the clients situation, or make any different assessment of needs depending on if the client is a man or a woman. Social workers also propose the same interventions to men and women.

A risk associated with surveys is satisficing ? sub-optimal response behaviour impairing the possibility of correctly describing the sampled population through its results. The purpose of this study is to ? through the use of multivariate outlier detection methods - identify those observations assumed to be non-representative of the population.

Uppsatsen undersöker vilken ledarstil på den operativa nivån som är mest lämpliga vid myndigheten för samhällsskydd och beredskaps (MSB) internationella humanitära insatser och varför. Uppsatsen syftar även till att studera om situationen påverkar vilken ledarstil som är mest lämplig. På basis av fyra intervjuer har det kunnat konstateras att de teoretiska ledarstilarna utvecklande, konventionellt och icke-ledarskap är mer nyanserade i verkligheten. Det utvecklande ledarskapet utgör en god grund för ett lämpligt ledarskap men det bör kompletteras med andra egenskaper, framförallt lyhördhet. Vilka dessa egenskaper är beror både på situationen och på ledarens personlighet och tidigare erfarenheter.En övergripande förklaring till varför det utvecklande ledarskapet utgör en god grund för ett lämpligt ledarskap ligger främst i hur insatsgruppens medarbetare motiveras och engageras. Vikten av delaktighet i arbetet och att det finns en känsla av att vara en i gruppen har beskrivit som viktiga.
