Urban density is not new, but rather one side of the continous processes of change underway in the city. During the urbanizing boom of the industrialization, when the cities grew bigger, the first spaces to be built on were vacant and planted areas in the interior of the district. The gardens that once were there were replaced by yardhouses. The idea of urban density is that a dense city means less distance between residential areas and workplaces, resulting in fewer shipments and travelers, which ultimately leads to lower energy consumption and lower emissions. Urban density may lead to shorter distances, but not necessarily. In the wake of urban density the greenstructures of the city is shattered. The possibilities for green areas to contribute to the health of the city and its inhabitants is dramatically reduced.

Resultatet visar Àven att stereotypa karaktÀrer förekommer eller föreslÄs i samtliga reklamkampanjer.

The term ?vulnerable areas? is developed by the Swedish police, referring to various areas in Sweden that are classified as socioeconomically disadvantaged, and with an active criminal presence. Over time, this term has gained significant popularity and is now used not only by the police but also by other entities such as the media, where these areas are often depicted as urban outcasts. Therefore, this study focuses on the portrayal of ?vulnerable areas? in the Swedish news media, where the topic has been widely debated in recent years.

This report deals with handling and interim storage of soils which are planned tobe reused in construction works. The types of soils that are dealt with are gravel, topsoil and sand. The thesis work has been carried out in collaboration with Skanska Sverige VÀg och AnlÀggning Sydost. The main goal is to find an area for using to store soil in between projects.Studies of laws and regulations regarding exploitation and storage of soil has led to a theoretical background upon which the report is based. Background informationhas also been gathered in meetings with the employees at Tekniska Kontoret and LÀnsstyrelsen in Jönköping.On the basis of literature studies results, a general template has been developed for which desirable properties a possible location should meet.The model was applied to find a number of possible options in the vicinity of Jönköping.

In todayÂŽs labour market, men and women are segregated, both vertically and horizontally. Exceptions to the rule of gender segregation are few. There is, however, one managerial group where women and men are equal in numbers: school principals. In a short period of time, the distribution in terms of sex among principals in Sweden has changed dramatically. How does gender equality in numbers affect gender equality in a qualitative sense? That is the focus of this thesis.

Vi har i denna studie undersökt om estetiska arbetsmetoder fungerar som ett sÀtt att frÀmja socialisation och integration samt stÀrka sjÀlvkÀnsla och identitet. Som en teoretisk bakgrund har vi skrivit om vad olika forskare och lÀrare samt lÀroplanerna anser om estetiska arbetsmetoder och vilka effekter dessa har för mÀnniskor. Vi har dÀrefter tagit upp Àmnena socialisation och identitet ur olika synvinklar. I resultatdelen har vi beskrivit nÄgra olika projekt som arbetar med estetiska arbetsmetoder för mÀnniskor med rötter i andra lÀnder och kulturer. Förutom att studera litteratur har vi genomfört observationer och intervjuer pÄ nÄgra olika projekt och föreningar som arbetar med integration pÄ olika sÀtt.

DÄ upproren uppfattades som mer vÄldsamma och mer omfattande Àn andra uppror, fick de stor uppmÀrksamhet i media. UtifrÄn nÄgra teoretiska utgÄngspunkter och med hjÀlp av olika diskursanalytiska verktyg granskar jag i denna uppsats hur hÀndelserna i Frankrike, platsen som hÀndelserna utspelade sig pÄ och mÀnniskorna bakom dessa, skildrades i Dagens Nyheter.I min analys stÀller jag mig kritisk till Dagens Nyheters sÀtt att beskriva hÀndelserna och portrÀtterandet av upprorsmakarna. Jag har bland annat funnit att tidningen mÄnga gÄnger ger en relativt onyanserad och förenklad bild av upproren och aktörerna bakom dessa hÀndelser.

There are several typical ideas about the suburb. The suburb is often associated with criminality and other social problems such as segregation. The purpose of this essay is to study the picture of how the suburb is constructed in a media context. The method used to answer the purpose of this study is critical discourse analysis, based on the thoughts of Norman Fairclough. The central theoretical ideas for this study are representation, stereotypes and racialization.

Slovenia and Latvia are two examples of countries which have gone through a successful democratic transition. They were both under authoritarian rule and command economy up until their declarations of independence in the early 90s. Today they have a functional market economy and political pluralism. I have examined transition theories highlighted by Jonas Linde and Joakim Ekman and from these theories sought the explanations to what lies behind the successful transitions of these two countries. The transition in Slovenia was affected by liberalization from within the ruling communist party which then controlled much of the transition process. A relatively large civil society and the fact that Slovenia was not involved in the Balkan War also contributed to the short process.

Energy efficiency has become a very topical issue that has been discussed throughout the European Union for preventing negative environmental impacts that have been associated with the consumption of energy. In the residential sector have mainly municipalities set strict requirements for the reduction of energy consumption while the renewable energy has been asked. Different concepts of low-energy buildings have been developed to reduce the cost of operation and maintenance in existing buildings such as in new ones.This thesis has aimed to minimize the energy cost of a large building which has had low energy consumption features originally. Energy reviews has been initiated in order to be able for showing how the house electricity could be carried out even more efficiently.The work was initiated through a literature study to clearly increase the reliability on the energy subject. Different concepts of low-energy buildings have been treated in connection with its specifications, afterward those have been compared with the obtained results.

This paper is based on a study of the Christian religious school. In Sweden today, surveys have shown that there is a common fear and negative attitude towards Christian religious schools. Despite this fact these schools increase in numbers, which makes it relevant to investigate what reasons the parents base their decision on when making Christian religious schools their school of choice for their children. The formulation of the question in this paper is therefore based on why the parents choose to place their children in a Christian religious school. Previous research on this topic is very scarce and poor, which makes it a relevant topic to investigate more thoroughly.
