Detta är en studie kring hur filmer framställer olika grupper som risker, till exempel muslimer som terrorister. Vi har gjort en kvalitativ studie av tre spelfilmer, nämligen Rambo III, Belägringen och The Kingdom samt en dokumentärfilm; Det svider i hjärtat. I dessa filmer har vi tittat efter hur muslimer framställs. För att strukturera upp studien har vi valt ett tesdrivande tillvägagångssätt utifrån Karl Poppers metod och prövat en rad olika teoretiska begrepp och perspektiv. Dessa är Edward W.

Den här uppsatsen är en undersökning av hur det introverta persolighetsdraget gestaltas i den brittiska tv-serien Sherlock (2010-) och huruvida den reproducerar en stereotyp syn på introverta personer. Detta gjordes med en narrativ analys av huvudkaraktärerna med utgångspunkt i teorier om narratologi, konstruktiom av karaktärer, Representation, stereotyper och hegemoni. För att få en definition på vad det innebär att vara introvert applicerar vi teorier om personlighetspsykologi på de fiktiva karaktärerna. I den stereotypa gestaltningen av en introvert karaktär i populärkultur framställs dennes introverta personlighetsdrag som någonting negativt. Dessa karaktärer saknar ofta karisma och blir tråkiga och intetsägande.

A picture says more than thousand words - an analysis of GQ Magazine´s cover images and ninth grade student´s views of them is an essay in media and communication studies covering 15 hp. This essay examines how men and women are depicted on the cover of GQ Magazine and how ninth grade students perceive these images. Our research questions are: How is gender presented in cover images? How do the students interpret these images? What possible differencies or similarities are there? Our theoretical framework is based on gender theory. Methods used are a survey conducted at Tegs Central school and a semiotic analysis of the cover images.

In this study I examine the Representation of masculinity in the manga, Naruto. The manga is about the orphan Naruto, who, together with other children goes to a ninja school. Boys and girls study and practice together, at first sight seemingly without emphasized gender differences. As the story continues, the gender differences are, however, quite obvious and to the boys advantage.I find the difference between Naruto and other popular culture ususally presented to pre-bubertal and teenage boys to be considerable. Whereas the domination of women and the message that you can get as far as you wish, are common in American and west produced popular culture as well as in Naruto, the difference lies in how the success is achieved. The men in Naruto reach their goals by allowing their feelings to be seen and expressed.

The aim of the study is to show how children and adults are described in three picture books, examining how children and adults are portrayed in text-and-picture narrative and how this has changed over time. We have analysed how the characters in the books are presented and how the Representation of children and adults has changed in our own times.The material for the study consists of three picture books from different periods, with the focus on how children and adults are described as the common point of departure. The analysed picture books are: Tomtebobarnen (Beskow 1919), Aja baja, Alfons Åberg! (Bergström 1972) and Snäll (Dahle 2008).We have arrived at the conclusion that a text-and-picture narrative is in very large measure a reflection of the outlook on children, childhood and child rearing at the time when the book was published. The result shows that the greatest change that has happened is that parents? and adults? dominance in the books has declined over the years, and that children have been given a more prominent role.

The aim of this study was to shed light on how journalists describe the child?s world and what gender labels are used in their descriptions. We wanted to get a better understanding of what happens when gender is constructed.In order to study how gender is constructed, we chose to examine how the children?s magazine Kamratposten describes children?s spare time. The aim of this Master?s thesis is to examine how Representations of identity construction are performed through the characters in the novel Snabba Cash by author Jens Lapidus. I examine what means the characters are using, and how the identity construction processes are related to the idea of modern society. For a theoretical background I use sociologist Anthony Giddens? theories regarding modernity and self-identity, to study general identity construction.

The so called democratic deficit and the lack of legitimacy have been at the core of the EU-debate in the last decades. Low turnouts in the elections for the European parliament and disapproval in the ratification processes of the latest changes of the treaties are examples of the citizens lack of confidence for the EU and continuous integration. In Nice 2000 the heads of the member states governments agreed to try to improve the democratic legitimacy in the EU and initiated a public debate aiming at proposals for changes in the decision making processes in the EU. In July 2001 the commission published a white paper with their view. A fundamental presumption in discourse theory is that language and language usage not just is a way to deliver information about ideas and behaviours.

This survey's main purpose is to highlight how the two Swedish newspapers Aftonbladet and Dagens Nyheter writes and describes four different school shootings. We wanted to find out if there is a general pattern of how school shootings are reported by the media. Two of the shootings occured in USA, Columbine and Virginia Tech, and two in Finland, Kauhajoki and Jokela. The analysis aims at three areas: the whole event, the perpetrator and the victim. We have used a qualitative content analysis with a semiotic model to examine the articles in the survey. The theories in the study is based upon views on social constructionism, media logic, stereotypization, Representation, morale panic/media panic and media events.

The study's aim is to implement a textbook analysis and examine how women are described in history textbooks for high school and in the curriculums Lgy 70, Lpf 94 and Gy 11. The study has a gender perspective and the study's purpose is to make a comparative study and compare textbooks with the current curriculum and compare the results with each other to see if there has been any change over time. The survey's material is three editions of Alla tiders historia from Gleerups förlag. The study refers to editions from 1989, 1996 and 2011. General parts from Lgy 70, Lpf 94 and Gy 11 are also central for my study.

Kvalitetsregistren kan också användas till forskning och förbättringsarbeten. Nationella kvalitetsregister utvecklades av den medicinska professionen under 1970-talet. På senare år har det utvecklats kvalitetsregister med registerdata för flera professioner för att få en mer komplett utvärdering av vårdkedjan. Syfte Att beskriva vilka omvårdnadsdata som registreras i nationella kvalitetsregister inom de största folksjukdomarna.

RIB är ett verktyg som kan användas vidverksamhet med riskhantering, förebyggande av olyckor, utbildning, för tillsyn, planering och vid genomförande av räddningstjänstinsatser. Meningen är att RIB ska kunna användas av personer som endast har en grundläggande datorvana utan att dessa ska behöva genomgå en omfattande utbildning i hur programmet fungerar.Syftet med examensarbetet har varit att identifiera brister i gränssnitt och struktur i RIB utan inblandning av Räddningsverkets egna värderingar och förutfattade meningar.Arbetet inleddes med teoriinhämtning varefter empiriska studier följde i form av genomgång av en marknadsanalys, intervjuer med användare samt observation av användare. Under arbetets gång utformades också en utvärderingsmodell för användartest, denna låg till grund för ett utfört användbarhetstest.Arbetet har resulterat i en diskussion dör förändringar i RIB föreslås. Del föreslås förändringar i den övergripande strukturen för att göra RIB mer konsekvent i dess utformning och därigenom göra det lättare för användaren att överblicka programmet. Dels föreslås förändringar i de olika delar som RIB består av som är tänkta att göra det enklare för användaren att överblicka all information i en akut situation..
