This is a study about employment officers at the Swedish public employment service. The aim of this study was to examine how they understand and use their discretion in their daily work. We used a qualitative method and the data was gathered by semi-structured interviews with eight employment officers working at the same office in a small town in Sweden. Lipskys theory about street-level bureaucracy and Lazarus description of coping theory are applied to analyze the empirical data. The work for the Swedish employment officers have changed over the last years with an increasing focus on control and administration.

Syftet med detta fördjupningsarbete är att få en fördjupad kunskap om polisens samarbete med vårdpersonal. Vi har avgränsat oss till att studera polishandräckningar åt psykavdelningen och tillnyktringsenheten i Skellefteå och Umeå för att se om det finns någonting som går att förbättra. Vi tror inte att det är en tillfällighet att det sker olyckor vid just handräkningsärenden. Vi har efter lite efterforskningar insett att det inte finns så mycket information nedskrivet om hur samarbetet fungerar, utan det mesta är oskrivna rutiner och regler som både vårdpersonalen och poliserna tar förgivet att motparterna vet. Det vi vill belysa är hur polisen och vårdpersonalen samarbetar rent säkerhetsmässigt och hur det kan utvecklas.

Studiens syfte var att undersöka de samspelssituationer som råder mellan allmänheten och handläggarna på försäkringskassan, men även att undersöka hur handläggarna upplever sin egen arbetssituation. Mellan handläggarna och allmänheten indikerar studien att allmänheten för det mesta är nöjd med handläggarna på försäkringskassan. Men studien visar även att allmänheten finner det oacceptabelt med en väntetid på två månader för utbetalning av ersättning. Något som båda grupperna har gemensamt är att bemötande är viktigt. Iden till studien växte fram ur de debatterna som förekom i media och om hur försäkringskassan har förändrat sitt arbetssätt genom att granska först och betala ut sedan mot tidigare att betala först och granska sedan.

Det som framkommit under vårat arbete är att åsikterna går isär. Polismyndigheten i Norrbotten anser att rent juridiskt går det inte att bevisa förekomsten av människohandel för sexuella ändamål i deras län. De medger emellertid att prostitution och sexköp existerar. Länsstyrelsen och Rikskriminalpolisen (RKP) uppger att det formellt sett inte finns något att rapportera om människohandel i Norrbotten. Andra hävdar att det förekommer, bl.a.

Hearing is considered to be the most important sense for the communication between people. Several studies have shown that hearing loss can lead to deterioration in quality of life, reduced social activities, feelings of alienation and hence the increasing incidence of depression symptoms.An early audiological rehabilitation is a prerequisite for proper communication among people with hearing loss. Knowledge has been shown to be of great importance and structured learning and individually targeted approach can be expected to facilitate the audiological rehabilitation.The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of an educational effort for people with hearing loss where the effort was made in the distance within the audiological rehabilitation and was followed-up by professional phone support, through a randomized controlled study.The study group consisted of 69 hearing aid users who were randomized by an independent person into two groups, an intervention group and a control group. The intervention group (n = 33) had access to the book "When the sounds are weaker - on hearing and hearing aids". The group received weekly topic-based information related to the different chapters of the book, in five rounds.

This report consists of a discussion about suitable methods for studying complex sociotechnical systems that are still being developed. There are large economical advantages with studying new systems before they are completely developed since problems can be discovered early and thereby avoided. It is, however, difficult to study developing systems, there are methodological limitations. As organizations are generating more business intelligence in their systems, more employees need access those systems. As a result some sort of permission management needs to be implemented to ensure the information remain safe. Access Control Matrix (ACM) is one way of managing permissions and is widely used among organizations. The issues that comes with ACM is that the matrix itself gets difficult to manage and overview as its complexity increases with the number of permissions. The study utilizes Action Design Research to develop a tool for visualizing permissions.

This report is the result of a master thesis at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Division of Industrial and Economical Development, at Linköping University of Technology. The project was carried out on behalf of Fanerami AB, Mjölby and includes 20 weeks of full time schedule work.Cabinets with vertical mounted roller shutters all share the same problem, namely weight balancing. A roller shutter has an equilibrium area where the sum of the different forces acting on the shutter equals zero. As the shutter leaves that area it will pick up speed as it falls towards the bottom. When the shutter hits the bottom of the cabinet there is a potential risk of getting fingers caught and in this project a solution to prevent this from happening was to be presented.In this project, three concepts have been generated with the following different purposes:?In concept 1 the risk of getting any fingers caught when the shutter closes was to be eliminated in an efficient and inexpensive way.?In concept 2 the roller shutter had to be balanced at all time providing the possibility to keep the cabinet open in any position.?The last and most challenging task was to create a remote controlled TV cabinet.

There is no further training in management in teacher education programs, which can create uncertainty among teachers in terms of management. According to the curriculum, the teacher should base it on a democratic approach, but how does it look in real life? The purpose has been to investigate how practicing teachers perceived management and their own leadership style, whether they made conscious choices and if so, whether they then had any purpose in their leadership style. Teachers' views of a good leader and how much influence students have on the teaching, enter into these issues.The survey is based on a qualitative research approach, based on interviews with four active teachers. Although observations were made they did not play any major role in this investigation.

The first version of the Swedish Code of Corporate Governance was published year 2004, by the code group, Kollegiet, after a mission from the Swedish government. The Code consists a collection of rules and standards about corporate governance and internal control, and the first version was intended to include incorporated limited companies on Stockholm?s alpha stocks, and also listed companies with a stock market value over three thousand million Swedish kronor. Now a few years have passed, and in July 2008 a new, revised version of the Code was implemented, now simplified and shorted, with the intention to include all joint-stock companies in Sweden. The Code contains rules about for example ownership, management commitments, annual stockholders meetings, and the accountant. This study intends to, with a qualitative research approach and an inductive reasoning, through studies of empirics in the subject, review whether the accountant?s profession has been influenced by the Code.
