Since the disintegration of the Soviet Union a lot of hope has been put on civil society to help develop Russia into a more democratic society. This study explores the constructive elements in the Relationship between civil society and the state in Russia, and how this enables the work toward political development. By using Julie Fishers theory about political development and organisational autonomy I discuss the varying and often complex ways in which civil society and the state interacts. These are often not mentioned in the liberal tradition, which believes that civil society's most important democratic function is to act as a watchdog for the state.There is very limited political space for NGO's in authoritative Russia. The existing oppositional NGO's are important for the political development, but they are few and their impacts on society are limited.

AbstractDigital media in general and social media in particular are becoming more and more important to businesses across the globe. It is an effective way to reach out to consumers and establish a good Relationship with existing customers. Most companies today use digital media in order to market themselves and to establish good public Relations. A lot of those companies have also realized the enormous marketing capabilities that social media provides. However, in spite of the plethora of possibilities that comes with social media it can also, in some cases, hinder the companies ? success.

In our thesis we investigate how public libraries are working with external marketing via social media. The study aims to found out what the reasons are and how public libraries are using social media to market themselves. Furthermore, how they evaluate the success of these marketing efforts. We limit ourselves to public libraries and its staff. The theory that we have chosen to use to analyze our data is the marketing mix of the 4 P'S (product, place, price and promotion), but we have replaced the ?price? with ?staff? because ?staff? is more relevant for library management.

The aim of this study was to explore the role of death in the Swedish family. How do parents and families cope with the loss of a child/sibling? How do the remaining children in a family fare after loss of sibling? The study was caused out partially through a selective review of the literature on children loss in families and partially through interviews with families who had experienced death of a child. The results were analysed with help of Family system theory, Emotional theory and with an Esoteric perspective. The findings of the study were that although families do eventually cope with the situation the majority is struggling to adjust.

Arbetsmarknaden står inför ett generations- och paradigmskifte, när den äldre generationen går i pension och de yngre förväntas ta över. Samtidigt ökar den psykiska ohälsan och sjukskrivningen främst bland de yngre och stress rapporteras vara den stora bakomliggande orsaken; känslan av otillräcklighet och svårighet att få balans i livspusslet. Undersökningar poängterar att förebyggande arbete och tidiga insatser gynnar såväl medarbetares hälsa och arbetsplatsens ekonomi. Studiens syfte är att undersöka om samtalsstöd som ett nytt subventionerat friskvårdsalternativ uppfattas positivt, i synnerhet av Generation Y (födda 1982-1999). Resultatet av enkätundersökningen, genomförd på ett kommunkontor med 76 deltagare visade att 60% skulle boka samtal idag om det erbjöds som ett friskvårdsalternativ.

Företag i Sverige styrs till största delen av män, Saab Aerotech är inget undantag. Med anledningen av detta är vårt syfte med den här studien att undersöka Saab Aerotechs chefers erfarenheter av kvinnligt chefskap.Uppsatsen är kvalitativ och baserad på intervjuer, urvalet består av fyra kvinnliga och fyra manliga chefer på Saab Aerotech. Vi har i vårt arbete valt att använda oss av Human Relations där den teoretiska grunden är organisationsteorin vilken bidrar till att förstå och förklara organisationer, samt Hirdmans genussystem och Kanters möjlighetsstruktur som belyser strukturella bestämmelser över beteende i organisationer.Resultatet visar att både individuella och organisatoriska faktorer möjliggör kvinnligt chefskap, Saab Aerotech är en öppen organisation som arbetar aktivt med att försöka ge kvinnorna möjligheten att avancera och är inte i sig hindret för kvinnligt chefskap. Detta stämmer inte riktigt överens med vad som framkommit av tidigare forskning..

Bakgrund: Få studier har gjorts inom psykiatrisk omvårdnad med fokus på patientperspektivet. Detta perspektiv är dock viktigt då det ger en inblick i hur patienterna upplever den vård de erhåller. Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva hur patienter på en psykiatrisk vårdavdelning upplever det bemötande de får av avdelningens sjuksköterskor. Metod: Semistrukturerade intervjuer som sedan analyserades med hjälp av kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Resultat: Vid analys av materialet framkom fyra huvudkategorier som samlade de aspekter på bra och mindre bra bemötande som respondenterna beskrivit: Betydelsen av att bli sedd och bekräftad av personalen, Personalens agerande och attityder gentemot patienterna, Önskemål och förväntningar på personalen samt Hur icke-verbal kommunikation påverkar hur bemötandet upplevs.

This thesis deals with query formulation in full text retrieval. The variables studied were query expansion and query structur[INS: e :INS , and the aim of the thesis is to study their co-effects on retrieval performance in a probabilistic system. The expansion was made with synonyms, and the structure by expressing facets and phrases. The study was performed using QPA, Query Performance Analyzer, which includes InQuery retrieval system and a sub-collection of TREC documents with its topics. The measurement used was precision at 11 DCV points.

A constantly increasing number of magazines are using the Internet as a business channel. One of these is Allt om Mat (All about Food). Together with expressen.se, Allt om Mat developed a food website, alltommat.se, which was introduced at the beginning of 2008. In this essay we investigate how alltommat.se developed its service concept. Further, we look at how this development has influenced and been influenced by Relations among the three actors and the users.

Today, social media is used mostly by people in their private life. However, companies are more and more tapping into the area of social media. To this date, mostly B2C companies have been successful in their social media strategies. This qualitative thesis aims to investigate how B2B companies can benefit from using social media as a means to communicate and build Relations with their customers. The medtech industry has been chosen as the object of study.Through depth interviews with people in the medtech industry and social media experts, data has been collected in order to answer the questions of (1) how ready customers in the medtech industry are to receive information through social media and (2) how companies can build the best possible social media strategy.

Focus of this study is an examination of the Swedish school today, its transformation and complexity when also the community outside of school undergoes changes in shape of among other things a different population composition and new political ideas. More specific the aim of the study is to understand how Gustav Adolfsskolan in Landskrona, a compulsory school in south of Sweden, legitimates the language rule that is in effect in the school. It?s a relatively new measure undertaken in the school and both the problems in the school and this measure have been widely discussed in the public media. The theoretical sources of inspiration have come from Weber, Galbraith and Elias and include power Relations and dynamics within social mobility when people establishes in new places.

The aim with this study is to study how young children?s influence expresses itself in some educators? stories about their work with children. The study also looks at the Relations between pedagogues? approaches to children and aims at identifying the educator?s perspectives of children. To get to know more about this I have interviewed five pedagogues who work with children in the ages of 3-6 years in different fields at a preschool area in India.The result shows that childrens? influence and participation for the educators involves children selecting activities.

The current trend towards globalisation and democratisation has made the theories of politics in pluralistic societies, and how to make them work, of particular interest and concern. Lijphart's theory of consociational democracy is an important influence in this field. At the same time the importance of civil society in transition studies and democratisation processes has been reinforced over the last thirty years. However, the complex political situation that plural societies face, creates obstacles for a healthy civil society. This thesis is based on a case study of Lebanon, a country with deep ethnic divisions and a government that resembles a consociational democracy.
