Each year, Heterobasidion spp. is a major cause of economic losses to forestry in the northernhemisphere, including Sweden. New results indicate that pre?commercial thinnings could be at riskfor Heterobasidion spp. infections.

It is common knowledge that our horses do occasionally hurt themselves and cause damage to their bodies. They also manage to do it in the most remarkable ways. The problem is not that they hurt themselves, because everybody does so from time to time. The problem is that they often experience difficulties with the healing of the wounds. The cause to that problem is the fact that they often lose a vast amount of tissue, the wound is more often than not extensively contaminated and the wound is often found a long time after the accident occurred.

Då det tekniska kunnandet ökar, ges möjligheter till fler och mer avancerade kirurgiska ingrepp och när krav ställs på kostnadseffektivitet, ökar risken för vårdrelaterade infektioner. Att kunna förebygga och förhindra smittspridning på en operationsenhet är därför av största vikt. Studiens syfte var att undersöka faktorer som kan minska postoperativa infektioner inom operations-sjukvård. Metoden har varit litteraturstudier och baseras på 20 vetenskapliga artiklar.

To be able to give optimal care to patients in small animal hospitals, we have to have knowledge about how to prevent the spread of infection. An important part in this is hand hygiene routines. We have to clean hands whenever they are visibly dirty, and disinfect them regularly in between. Another important part is the cleaning and disinfection of the environment in the clinic, and also the cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of medical instruments. Other important parts are isolation of patients with known infections, to wear clothes with short sleeves and to wash them at least once daily, to wear gloves, having short nails and not wearing jewelry when working.

Introduktion: Olika typer av sår skapar stort lidande för den drabbade och Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) är en behandlingsmetod som utvecklats för att effektivisera sårläkningsprocessen. Livskvaliteten och hälsan påverkas av såret och dess utveckling, vilket gör omvårdnaden vid sårbehandling grundläggande för patientens välmående. Syfte: Syftet var att belysa hur Negative Pressure Wound Therapy påverkar patientens livskvalitet och hälsa. Metod: Polit och Beck (2012) niostegsmodell användes för litteraturstudien. Artikelsökningarna gjordes i två olika databaser samt manuella sökningar och resultatet grundades på tolv artiklar som genomgick en kvalitetsgranskning.

Sår är ett stort problem som medför lidande för patienten, är tidskrävande och medför stora kostnader för sjukvården. Nutrition är livsnödvändigt och en rätt sammansatt kost är viktig för att kroppen ska må bra och fungera väl. Sår och nutrition ligger inom sjuksköterskans ansvarsområde och därför är det av stor vikt att beskriva näringsämnens och nutritionssupplements inverkan på sårläkning. Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva nutritionens betydelse för sårläkning. Studien genomfördes som en deskriptiv litteraturstudie där vetenskapliga artiklar sökts i tidskrifter.

Trough the analyses of three young contemporary Swedish and Norwegian poets, who all in one way or another work with the language as material, I will circulate around the term language materialism. Each poet has his or her specific distinctive feature wich makes them three completely different poets. But they are all challenging the borders of literature and even the grammatical laws of language. Apart from the analyses I sketch an historical line between the predecessors of the experiments with the poetic language in the past, starting with Mallarmé, and the experiments of today. My essay will in conclusion discuss the language poetry in a wider philosophical point of view, connected to Derrida and Wittgenstein.The first analysis introduces the author and artist Johannes Heldén through his debute poetry collection Burner.

The Church of Sweden has in recent years offered activities such as Christian deep medita-tion, mindfulness and health days. This may be a way for the Church of Sweden to reach the modern man who would not otherwise have come to the church, but there are critics who argue that new spirituality has made its entry in the Church of Sweden. The phenomenon of Christian deep meditation has become increasingly common in the Church of Sweden. In order to satisfy my curiosity about what a Christian deep meditation is, I decided to write an essay about this. My question is as follows: How important is Christian deep meditation as a religious practice in the Church of Sweden? This essay is a qualitative study and I have cho-sen to perform eight pieces of interviews, two of them are recorded.

En studie i hur man kan arrangera, spela in och mixa slagverk i rollen som trumset. Artisten Nasimiyu Murumbas andra album Dig Deep innehåller en låt med trumset, Raise Your Arrow. Övriga har slagverk som täcker upp funktioner som trumsetet har. Processen beskrivs ur producentperspektiv med redovisning av arrangemang och analys av Raise Your Arrow samt tre av albumets övriga låtar, Free Ones, Dig Deep samt The Biggest Drum. Dessa analyseras från tre utgångspunkter: arrangemangmässig, konstnärlig och teknisk.

Operationssjuksköterskan träffar dagligen patientersom ska genomgå någon form av kirurgi. Många patienter upplever rädsla och oroi den perioperativa perioden där operationssjuksköterskan har som uppgift attskapa en tillitsfull relation och vara ett stöd för patienten. Humor har visatsig ha en positiv inverkan på interaktionen mellan patient och vårdare. Syfte: Att sammanställa kunskap om hur patientenoch sjuksköterskan kan uppleva humor i omvårdnaden och hur humor kan användassom ett kommunikationsredskap. Metod: Metodenvar litteraturstudie.

?Mechanical debridment ? A studie in irrigation optimization? is a final thesis which was executed by Fredrick Ekman, in close collaboration with the other group member Mikael Johansson, during the spring 2012. The thesis was carried out through Karlstad University Faculty of Technology and Science in the study program of Innovation and Design Engineering (180 ECTS credits). The client of the project was Medilink AB located in Lindesberg, and the contact person was Nils-Erik Söderström, Chief Executive Officer. The project was supervised by lecturer, Lennart Wihk, and examined by lecturer and professor Fredrik Thuvander at Karlstad University.

Att ha ett sår är en belastning och påverkar människors vardag, oavsett om såret är akut efter ett olycksfall eller efter en operation, alternativt svårläkande som vid bensår, diabetesfotsår, trycksår eller maligna tumörsår. Syftet med studien var att undersöka kunskaper hos sjuksköterskor och undersköterskor om sårbehandling inom kirurgisk verksamhet. Metoden utgjordes av en enkätundersökning hos sjuksköterskor (n=56) och undersköterskor (n=38). Resultatet visar att sjuksköterskorna kände sig mer osäkra i sitt val av behandling av svårläkande sår jämfört med undersköterskorna. Kunskaperna om sårbehandling visar att skattade kunskaper inte motsvarar svaren på kunskapsfrågorna.

Borna disease virus (BDV) is a virus with capability to cause neurological disease in several species of mammals and of ostriches. Also humans are suspected to be susceptible to the virus, as the viral RNA and antibodies against BDV have been found in some humans with psychiatric diseases, like schizophrenia and depression. In Sweden there is a disease called staggering disease in cats, associated to BDV-infection. This disease often has a fatal progress. Definite diagnosis is reached by histo-pathological and immunohistochemical examination of the central nervous system.
