This essay deals with the weak and unstable urbanization process of the town Falkenberg. The aim has been to explore how a new town could be established just a kilometre away from the town (Old) Falkenberg and what kind of meaning the town had in relationship to the towns Halmstad and Varberg. This was made through the study of the political situation in Denmark and Sweden during the 15th century and through a comparison of the town churches. The archaeological material of Falkenberg is very small and thus I had to trust the available historical literature about the town.Not much of the oldest history of the town is known, but a conflict between the landed aristocratic family Thott and the king Kristian I in Denmark has been interpreted as a reason to the establishing of the town. In conclusion the survey showed that the king probably established New Falkenberg in purpose to limit the trading possibilities of Thott and to, at the same time, increase his own power in the district.

The dry out criterion (MCPR) has been calculated for the most limiting H2-events for Forsmarks unit 2 and 3, at operating points that are normally not analyzed before each cycle. The operating points that normally are regarded as the ones with the lowest margin to dry out are the ones where the thermal power is the highest at agiven recirculation flow. This report shows that this is not the case for Forsmark 3. MCPR-values at partial power operating points are higher for the limiting case inside rather than on the boundary of the region of operation. It is therefore recommended that the method for determining the dry out criterion for Forsmark 3 is revised to account for this effect.

The purpose of this thesis is to explore the situation for ebooksin Swedish public libraries. The background is anincreasing lending of e-books in public libraries, with anacquisition model formed when e-books were more of anexperiment in a few libraries. The debate has escalated in therecent years and in this thesis I aim to investigate thelibraries? experience with e-books and the current pricemodel. The empirical material comes from interviews witheight head of public libraries in the Västra Götaland region.As theoretical background, I have used Michael Buckland?sfour roles of collections and price models from Lee andBoyle.My results show ambivalence with the price model.

In this study I have analysed the national tests in Swedish between the years 2006-2010. These tests are given to all students in the public schools in grade 9 and 10. I wanted to see if I identified an over-representation of a certain category of people in the texts given to the students. I analysed the texts from an intersectional perspective and I used primary Lena Martinsson (2007), Framtidens feminister and her categories and theories and Moria von Wright (1998) Genus & text- när kan man tala om jämställdhet i fysikläromedel?, and her gender categories in my study.

 This study is made, on behalf of Västerbottens Fotbollsförbund, with the purpose to investigate how the 2008 financial crisis have affected the sponsorship to the voluntary sports sector in the Västerbotten region, with focus on the womens elite football teams. The background of this study was to investigate the effect of the financial crisis to help the voluntary organizations in the future. The study was carried out with a qualitative approach as depth interviews with ten people representing both the voluntary organizations and the sponsoring companies, which one was a previous sponsor. To understand and interpret the result of the interviews we used models such as the stakeholder model, the A-ERIC model and a communication model for sponsorship from literature such as Donaldson and Preston (1995), Mitchell et. al.

Den svenska dagligvaruhandelns utveckling går mot fler etablerade stormarknader iutkanten av städer. Följderna blir att mindre butiker på landsbygden konkurreras ut ochatt kunder väljer handelsområden framför butiker i stadskärnor. Kundlojalitetenberäknas minska, när dagens kunder väljer att handla på ett flertal butiker istället för enspecifik.Den omstrukturering som sker på marknaden problematiserar hur företag genomdifferentiering och marknadsföring bygger långsiktiga kundrelationer. Ett företagsvarumärke syftar till att skapa konkurrenskraft och differentieringsmöjligheter, därmedfanns ett intresse att inrikta studien mot butiksimage och kundlojalitet till en specifikbutik. Med ovanstående resonemang som grund avser studien undersöka vilkabutiksattribut som påverkar kunders lojalitet till en specifik butik inom den svenskadagligvaruhandeln.

Denna uppsats presenterar ett relativt nytt identifierat fenomen ? Self-Initiated Expatriate (SIE) ? en subgrupp inom expatriering, ur ett svenskt perspektiv. Författarna har undersökt vilka möjligheter och utmaningar nyutexaminerade svenska SIEs möter när de söker anställning i en region de tidigare bedrivit utbytesstudier i, med fokus på Asien. Studien är begränsad att undersöka Hongkong som representant för världsdelen. För studiens utförande har författarna besökt Hongkong för insamling av reell information.

The purpose of this bachelor thesis was to illuminate and analyze the working conditions of visual artists in the Swedish region of Värmland. As a profession which is known to have many problems concerning income and the fact that most artist are unable to get by on their art sales alone it becomes interesting to look closer on cultural policy?s affecting the artists, where the problems lie and what possible help they can get.I have used previous research and different sources to map out the working conditions in Sweden and Värmland alike and also interviewed five different visual artists in Värmland to get a general view of the working conditions in the country as a whole and their perception of the situation and special circumstances in Värmland. I have also used discourse analysis to compare the source material with the answers of my respondents to see which discourses that exists, that have hegemony, and to see how this subject is talked about.The results of this study showed how political decisions may force artists to become self-employed entrepreneurs even though many artists do not self-identify as such or even have any interest in profitable gain. The study also shows among other things that most artists have another occupation on the side but that there are some aids to help the artists with income.

This study aims to analyse the connection between poverty reduction and sustainable development through strategies used for the reduction of poverty. With the methodology of content analysis of three policy documents to provide and easy overview of how the government of Ethiopia is planning to achieve sustainable and long-term poverty alleviation. The focus of this study will be on Ethiopia, a country with very high economic growth in the past years but still with hight poverty rates. The purpose of this study is to contribute to the already existing and broad knowledge and research of sustainable development and poverty alleviation and contribute with more research in Ethiopia where the research done in this specific area and region is not in abundance. In this study all dimensions of sustainable development, social, economic and ecological are included to get a more holistic picture of the sustainable development in the government?s plans and its challenges.

Denna studie syftar till att öka förståelsen för hur kriminalvårdare uppfattar sin yrkesidentitet. Var går gränsen mellan det professionella och det personliga/privata i förhållande till de intagna på en kriminalvårdsanstalt? Studien bygger på åtta kvalitativa samtalsintervjuer med kriminalvårdare på en klass 1 anstalt i Sverige. Den insamlade empirin har analyserats med hjälp av Goffmans dramaturgiska perspektiv. Resultatet talar för att man kan applicera Goffmans dramaturgiska perspektiv med en främre och en bakre region på kriminalvården.

Flera städer och regioner har börjat arbeta tillsammans för att stärka sina gemensamma positioner och öppna nya möjligheter för företagen i regionen. Genom att etablera så kallade logistiknav kan samarbete mellan olika aktörer i regionen ske på nya villkor. Gävle-Borlängeregionen kommer till hösten 2011 att lansera MellanSveriges LogistikNav, som har som mål att bli etablerat som varumärke och stärka affärsmiljön i regionen. Vi fick i uppdrag av Mellansvenska Handelskammaren, som ligger bakom MellanSveriges LogistikNav att se närmare på ett antal frågeställningar angående logistiknav runt om i Sverige och förutsättningarna för att starta upp detta i denna region. Tillvägagångssättet som vi valde att använda i arbetet för att uppnå vårt syfte var att först gå igenom den teori som fanns kring logistiknav och lokaliseringskriterier.

Therefore this thesis will look at two different situations, the Structural Funds and the establishment of Ikea in Norrbotten, to try to find out if and how these two situations affect the intention among potential entrepreneurs to engage in entrepreneurial behaviour. Method: A qualitative method is used, since this thesis aims at getting an understanding of a specific phenomena; the intention to entrepreneurial behaviour.

The purpose of this Masters thesis is to investigate the reasons for public libraries to have story-time today and also the reasons for story-time at the public library historically in Sweden. Why is the phenomenon of story-time still existing at public libraries today? The study is based on a questionnaire that was sent to childrens librarians in the Västra Götaland region. The material collected in this questionnaire was put together and resulted in six different categories showing the libraries purposes and thoughts of their story-time activities. The categories were: cultural heritage/tradition, joy of reading, language and imagination, library visits, storytelling and mutual experience.
