Nattaktivitet hos Afrikanska elefanter (Loxodonta africana) i fångenskap med olika kombinationer av miljöberikning
African elephants (Loxodonta Africana) are kept all over the world in different kinds of enclosures. The enclosures are however often unsuitable for the elephants. Research has shown that elephants are nocturnal animals. Therefore it is important to keep elephants occupied, for instance by using enrichments, also at the night.
Five elephants were studied at Borås djurpark, four elephants in one room and one elephant, named Nyoka, in one room.
Emotionell kompetens : om möjligheter till utveckling och betydelse för ett effektivt ledarskap
Purpose of the study was to illustrate how emotional competence can be important for leadership and to explore the possibility of improving emotion perception ability after training. Participants in this study were 40 managers, divided into control and experimental group, within public administration. The participants implemented a data-based emotion perception test, which were done twice at every occasion, with intervention consisting of information or education between test- and retest. The result showed a clear improvement after intervention, in which no difference was found between control and experimental group, which has been discussed on the basis of the likelihood of a training effect occurred between test-retest. Conclusions about emotional competence or leadership ability could not be drawn from the results of the emotion perception test.

To be able to give optimal care to patients in small animal hospitals, we have to have knowledge about how to prevent the spread of infection. An important part in this is hand hygiene routines. We have to clean hands whenever they are visibly dirty, and disinfect them regularly in between. Another important part is the cleaning and disinfection of the environment in the clinic, and also the cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of medical instruments. Other important parts are isolation of patients with known infections, to wear clothes with short sleeves and to wash them at least once daily, to wear gloves, having short nails and not wearing jewelry when working.

Introduktion - Vid rekrytering, tycker arbetsgivare att de traditionella metoderna är en kostsam process som tar tid och bidrar med för lite information för att göra en lyckad rekrytering. Sociala mediers framväxt, har bidragit med en annan form av information som har fått arbetsgivare att vilja använda sociala medier i rekryteringsprocessen. Det finns många fördelar med att använda sociala medier, dock finns det minst lika många nackdelar.Syfte - Syftet med denna uppsats är att öka medvetenheten hos arbetsgivare om användandet av sociala medier vid granskning av profiler i rekryteringsprocessen.Problemformulering - För att besvara vårt syfte valde vi att utgå från två problemformuleringar; hur använder arbetsgivare sociala medier vid granskning av profiler i rekryteringsprocessen samt vilka fördelar respektive nackdelar finns det med användandet av sociala medier för arbetsgivare när de granskar kandidaters profiler i rekryteringsprocessen?Metod - Vi utgick från en deduktiv ansats och kvantitativ metod. Vi började med att skapa en teoretisk modell som sedan låg till grund för vår empiriska insamling.
Internationaliseringsprocessen för svenska småföretag i Kina : Fallstudie av två svenska småföretag
The purpose of this thesis was to study how an internationalization process to China may appear for a small Swedish enterprise and to identify important factors that may be essential for the process. The focus extends from the point where the enterprise makes its first connection with China up to the point where they are well established. Their business is up and running and they have begun production. To gain a deeper understanding of the subject a gathering of existing theory and research articles was conducted. The gathering of theory yielded knowledge of different approaches and methods that can be used to implement internationalization and provided a greater understanding of cultural and regional differences in China compared to Sweden.

The purpose of this essay is to propose alternative strategies of action by discussing the ecology, the history and the social function of the railway station. In the analysis part of the thesis, the genius loci or the spirit of place is put forward as means of reaching a solution.

The aim of this study was to examine if an organisation that strives for democracy and participation, also possess an open information culture. This study deals with the information culture in a social movement organisation, Attac Gothenburg. To achieve the aim, following questions were asked: What is the organisation culture like, is it open or closed? What is the information culture like, is it open or closed? What is the information culture like, in relation to the identity of the organisation? The focus has been put on earlier research in social movements, organisation and information culture. In this qualitative study I have collected material mainly from interviews.

Att erbjuda största möjliga lycka: en kvalitativ studie av ett parledarskap på en somatisk vårdavdelning
The aim of this study was to investigate leadership in public health care. The methods used were shadowing and semi-structured interviews. The shadowing involved observing the shared leadership of two head nurses in an administrative management position of a ward in their daily work during two weeks. The observation was supplemented by ten semi-structured interviews. A thematic analysis of the data was carried out and the result indicated that shared leadership is a form of leadership well suited for an organisation as big and complex as the clinic where the study took place.
En levande organisation : En studie om rekrytering och organisationskultur
Syftet med uppsatsen är att försöka få en inblick i hur viktigt det anses vara att en nyanställd ?matchar? en organisation i form av personlighet och värderingar, snarare än att denne besitter rätt yrkeskunskaper. Syftet är även att utreda om det finns en existerande organisationskultur på ett industriföretag, samt hur genomgående denna kultur verkar vara. Avslutningsvis har författarna försökt utreda hur nya medarbetare socialiseras in i den undersökta organisationens kultur. Resultaten är baserade på tre gruppintervjuer med operativ personal, intervjuer med två personer från organisationens ledningsgrupp, samt intervjuer med två olika rekryteringsföretag.
Social rekrytering ur arbetssökandes perspektiv ? en känslomässig upplevelse.
Ur ett arbetsgivarperspektiv visar tidigare forskning en alltigenom positiv bild av rekrytering via sociala medier, vilket kan förklara dess ökade popularitet. För en arbetssökande däremot kan social rekrytering upplevas som ett hot mot integriteten, eftersom personlig information exponeras för arbetsgivaren. Syftet med denna enkätstudie var därför att öka kunskapen om arbetssökandes inställning till och emotionella upplevelse av social rekrytering utifrån demografiska aspekter. Resultatet från de icke-parametriska testerna visade på en något ambivalent inställning, men med positiva förtecken. Ett samband framkom mellan upplevd nytta och den generella inställningen, men även ålder hade en inverkan på attityden.
Chefsrekrytering på lika villkor? : en studie av rekryterares attityder till kvinnors och mäns förutsättningar att nå chefspositioner inom dagligvaruhandeln
Trots allt jämställdhetsarbete i dagens samhälle innehar män fortfarande en större andel chefspositioner än kvinnor. Det finns många teorier som försöker förklara varför det förhåller sig så. Syftet med denna uppsats är att förklara eventuella skillnader i rekryterares attityder till kvinnors och mäns förutsättningar att nå chefspositioner inom dagligvaruhandeln. Vi har genomfört intervjuer med rekryteringsansvariga i tre dagligvarubutiker i Skåne. Resultaten från dessa har sedan jämförts med befintliga teorier och tidigare undersökningar i ämnet chefsrekrytering.
Blödningsbenägenhet hos bengalkatter :
During the years 2005-2007 several cases of abnormal bleeding were seen after surgery in Bengal cats on veterinary clinics and animal hospitals in Sweden. In this study we have examined if the observed bleedings are due to an inherited defect of the coagulation cascade. Ten Bengal cats were tested for activated partial thromboplastin time (P-APT-time) and one-stage protrombin time (P-PK), and nine of these cats were tested for fibrinogen quantity (P-fibrinogen). Four of the tested cats had shown signs of an abnormal bleeding after surgery, and five of the cats were genetically related to these cats. One cat had a small bleeding wound at the internal base of the right auricle.

Many corporations turn to IT-outsourcing to focus more on their core competence or to cut the IT-budget. There is one caveat, the costs presented at a first glance does not always present the entire truth. Instead the costs run deeper and so-called hidden costs exist beyond the contractual cost. Reducing these hidden costs may very well be crucial to the entire IT-outsourcing endeavor. However many firms are not aware of these costs and as such they have a reduced chance of success.

How does IT-consultants reason in their consulting process regarding the
development of a clients IT-based internal recruitment system?
The purpose with this paper is to investigate how an IT-consultant is reasoning
in a consulting process and investigate whether consultants are using
established models and methods in their work.
We have chosen to work with a qualitative examination to attain our purpose. In
our work gathering the empirical facts we have been working with a case study,
an observation and a simulation exercise. The combination of these has made it
possible to carry out the paper and produce the most correct data possible.
Conclusion: We state that IT-consultants do not use any theory-based methods,
they use process methods created by themselves and their company.
