SH KarriÀr : Framtagning av designförslag till visningsvy för karriÀrforum

Denna rapport redogör produktionsprocessen för en re- design av ett karriÀrforum vid namn SH KarriÀr som funnits sedan hösten 2011. I dagslÀget upplever SH KarriÀr att studenterna pÄ Södertörns högskola inte Äterkommer till karriÀrforumet, dÀrför inleddes produktionsprocessen med en anvÀndarstudie för att tangera problemet. MÄlet var att producera ett designförslag som presenterar karriÀrforumet pÄ ett representativt sÀtt. Re- designen ska möjliggöra att anvÀndarna fÄr en klarare överblick kring de innehÄll som presenteras pÄ karriÀrforumet och Àven skapa ett intresse som fÄr dem att Äterkomma efter att ha registrerat sig pÄ SH KarriÀr. Rapporten beskriver mitt tillvÀgagÄngssÀtt genom en enkÀtundersökning och anvÀndartester.

Touching reality: Exploring how to immerse the user in a virtual reality using a touch device

This paper explores the field of virtual reality and how immersion and presences can be increased when it comes to navigation and interaction with Virtual Environments. The availability of VR technology has sparked a trend, especially in game development. Old ways of designing for interactive environments have to be revised. This is done by exploring the massive body of work done on VR, exploring its underlying concepts, using tested design techniques and ways of evaluating interaction for VR. A design suggestion in the form of utilizing a tablet device as the main input device is derived.

A game designer has to consider several aspects when he or she is designing a game. One of those aspects is the perceived freedom in the game by the player. There exist several methods to facilitate this perceived freedom in the design phase of the game. CMS och UX : tekniker för hur man utformar en god anvÀndarupplevelse

The purpouse of this study is to find out how and if a Content Managment System (CMS) can benefit from applied User Experience Design (UX). A work project has been executed where a client wanted the students to create a user friendly CMS for adding content to a global hotel review site. A prototype of a CMS was created based on literature studies about UX and CMS. The prototype of the user friendly CMS was then tested through user tests and interviews with key users. PÄ ytan av interaktionsdesign : En undersökning om hur designen pÄ en Microsoft Surface SUR40 applikation kan förbÀttras för flera anvÀndare

The purpose of this thesis is to examine and analyze how to improve the design of a Microsoft Surface SUR40 application. The application in focus was an interactive product browser developed by the company Spree, our external client. Spree is a multi-touch software provider, established in September 2010 and they expressed a need for suggestions for how to improve this application. Our work aimed at revealing how to make the application more suitable for several users and make it easier for them to interact simultaneously on the surface. From a qualitative standpoint we have examined how 17 users experienced the application.

The purpose of this study was to examine how local producers in the food and confectionery segment in VĂ€sternorrland, Sweden, working to communicate that the product is locally produced through its packaging design. We have chosen to look at how they work with the right packaging design because it is such an important part of the product marketing. A further aim was to examine how consumers perceive the packaging design of the locally produced products and how they consider that the packaging design communicates the product as locally produced. We have also analyzed the graphical elements contained in the locally produced product packaging through a semiotic analysis.The theoretical framework is based on theories in brand communication and Visual Communication, specializing in packaging design?s visual elements.The method used in this study is a qualitative method.

Denna rapport Àr ett examensarbete inom maskinteknik pÄ c-nivÄ (15hp). DÄ författaren ansÄg att dagens hammockar inte utvecklats speciellt mycket sedan de blev populÀra i Sverige pÄ 60-talet, valde han att Àgna detta arbete Ät att försöka ta fram en mer modern sÄdan. Projektet har huvudsakligen handlat om produktutveckling och design dÀr mycket tid spenderats pÄ att lösa alla de olika problem som de satta kraven pÄ nya funktioner bidragit till. Arbetet startade med en omfattande förstudie. DÀrefter vidareutvecklades de olika idéer som framkom under förstudien ytterligare.

Ny konstruktionslösning och kostnadsförslag för stansverktyg

The task for this thesis is to design a tool that is used to cut-out preforms of thermoplastic adhesive and also to make an estimate of costs for the stamping tool. The tool is used in the repair process at the MCM production line. The result of gathered information has affected how the design of the stamping tool has developed. The handling of thermoplastic adhesive in the repair process is one of the factors that influenced the design. The adhesive is sensitive for exposure to moisture. Therefore an automated feeding system of the adhesive is not recommended. The users wished for an automated stamping tool.

UtvÀrdering av ramverket JQuery for mobile

Examensarbetet har utförts pÄ Lawson, som idag gör en satsning mot de mobila anvÀndarna. DÄ det idag finns mÄnga olika typer av enheter, webblÀsare och operativsystem utvecklas det mobila applikationer till varje plattform vilket medför stora kostnader och lÀngre utvecklingstider. Den hÀr rapporten Àr skriven i syfte att se över vad det finns för möjligheter att anvÀnda ny teknik som HTML5 och CSS3 tillsammans med ramverket jQuery for mobile för att utveckla webbapplikationer.För att visa pÄ funktionaliteten och vad man kan göra sÄ har tvÄ exempelapplikationer tagits fram och testas pÄ flera olika plattformar/enheter, bland annat en iPad och en Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9. Koden för dessa applikationer finns som bilaga i rapporten.MÄlet var att se över vad det fanns för stöd för swipes, enhetlig native-design/kÀnsla, kunna anvÀnda enhetens kamera och GPS. En hel del, bland annat swipes, GPS och lokal lagring, gÄr att lösa med HTML5 och jQuery for mobile.

Speaker Park : om ljudsÀttning av utemiljöer

This project will search for the sound in the contemporary landscape architecture, an attempt to combine music and land­scaping. In a first stage, I have searched for outdoor environments where loudspeakers are used, and sites with a concious sound design. The project will result in a sound design created for the park Frodeparken in Uppsala, Sweden. In my search for sites and examples of conscious sound, I have talked to the people behind the projects I found - landscape architects, sound artists and architects. Influences from different areas have been essential for me in the project.

There is a lot written about being hearing impaired. There are guidelines on how to adjust the indoor environment for the hearing impaired. There is even more written about gardening and garden design from different aspects. However, I found out that there is nothing written about garden design or adjusting the outdoor environment for the hearing impaired. At the background of myself being hearing impaired and garden designer I realised that I actually had adjusted my own garden out of the fact that I am hearing impaired.

Varelsedesign : en metod

My aim in this case study has been to create a method for creature design to test this method in a production and evaluate the results. To achieve this I studied and analyzed the methods of three concept artists and illustrators named James Gurney, Neville Page and Iain McCaig. From the analysis of these artistÂŽs methods, combined with my own personal experience, a new method was formed. To test this method a creature was designed based on directives given by a game design group in the process of creating a table top role playing game in a fictitious world. These directives where given for the creatureÂŽs role and its living conditions.

»Does it have to be so green?« is a visual communication project focused on packaging design. I attempted to challenge the clichés of graphic design for organic products and designed a packaging concept for a fictional food brand. The project had a special objective which was to explore ways to use the package as carrier for information about the enviromental impact of the packaging itself.The process included research about packaging design and its effect on the consumer, an investigation of the Swedish market for organic foods, creating and defining a brand, and designing a coherent packaging concept for a product line which communicates the brand?s values and appeals to the intended target group.The project resulted in prototypes for a muesli package, tea carton and honey jar, as well as a manual that explains the application of the graphic program..
