The aim of this theoretical study is to explain how the notion of the Other and Otherness affect individuals possibilities to form multiple, personal identities. This is done by the use of the theory of the Other and the construction of identities. In my analysis I will be using the power perspective presented by Lukes. The purpose of my study is also to investigate whether a focus on similarity over difference between groups can change the situation for individualsMy study shows that otherness affect individuals identity constructions through stereotyping and categorising. This is made possible by the use of power from outside and inside different groupings.
Ledarskap och relationer vid implementering av lean i sjukvÄrden: en utveckling av yrkesidentiteten
The aim of this case study was to investigate the role of leadership and interpersonal relations among staff during implementation of lean at a University Hospital in Sweden. The 15 respondents were leaders and staff members from different wards and clinics, who had started working according to lean principles. One of the methods used was explorative, low structured interviews. Other methods used for gathering information about the case was attending lectures about lean healthcare at the hospital, part-taking in the lean game and reading articles about lean and the implementation in both daily press and on the intranet of the hospital. The results showed that an open and accessible leader that coaches his/her staff and supports their work, helps the staff to develop a lean identity.

The main subject with this master thesis is to take a closer look at university libraries specially Gothenburg University Librarys operation of marketing the librarys user contact, how it receives various users demands and carry out the interactive and strategic marketing. Marketing is planning, structuring, implementation, analysis and controls of carefully formulated programs, designed to bring voluntary interactions and relations with the target markets, for the purpose of achieving organisational and user satisfaction objectives. The structure of this thesis covers three main parts. Part I reflects the researchers approach to the subject. Marketing researchers such as Grönroos, Kotler, Bryson, De Såez and Gummesson among others are presented.

Syftet med vÄr uppsats Àr att utvÀrdera hur enskilda butiksÀgare, som ingÄr i en större kedja, ser pÄ fördelar samt nackdelar att ingÄ i en större koncern. Syftet Àr ocksÄ att utröna hur butiksÀgarna definierar en lojal kund samt hur de arbetar för att strategiskt skapa kundlojalitet. VÄr studie grundar sig pÄ intervjuer med tvÄ enskilda butiksÀgare som ingÄr i samma koncern. I studien framgick det att butiksÀgarna genom anvÀndandet av kundkort erhÄller kundlojalitet som ett bra verktyg för att kunna förbÀttra och stÀrka den totala ekonomin i företaget. Det krÀvs dock att man inser betydelsen av att engagera sig för att skapa en bÀttre balans mellan kundernas attityd och kundernas beteende.

Background:The concept of transition means a change in a person's life where he or she is forced to adapt. There are different phases in life that results in different adaptations. In this essay, transition is described as the physical and mental journey between the home and an elder care facility. The Aim was to describe elderly people's experiences of transition when moving from their previous home into an elder care facility. The Method used was a literature review.

The purpose of this study was to examine and describe how politicians and directors of care define and experience quality in aged care facilities. Further on we wanted to compare on which fundamental principles the participants base their opinion about quality and how they work with quality. To reach our aim we conducted five interviews with politicians and directors of care. The results show that it is hard to determine quality in an unambiguous and objective way. Quality in aged care appears to be about relations and encounters amongst people.

Old people's life situation when receiving municipal help and care in theirlast period of life is sparsely investigated from their own perspective. Thepurpose of this study was focused on the thoughts of the aged people andtheir personal experiences on what quality is within the geriatric care. Inthis qualitative study, 10 elderly people aged 75-90 years wereinterviewed from 3 different nursing homes within Solna Municipality.Qualitative interviews, with the emphasis on their present life situationespecially what brought about a good life, were performed. The interviewswere analysed using qualitative content analysis. The implication of theterm ?meaningful existence? is individual and differs from person toperson.
Kvinnliga arbetstagare i sjuk- och ÀldrevÄrden - faktorer som kan pÄverka graden av upplevd stress utanför arbetstid
The aim of this study was to examine the relations between women?s perceived stress off the job (dependent variable), responsability for household chores, emotional support, number of children living at home, neuroticism and age (independent variables). Comparisons between the present sample and two independent samples from previous research were made with regard to perceived stress and neuroticism. The sample of this study consisted of 186 women working in the fields of health care and geriatric care. The results showed that perceived stress correlated positively with neuroticism and number of children and negatively with emotional support, though the effectsizes for number of children and emotional support were fairly small.
Laborativt arbete i grundskolans naturorienterande ÀmnesomrÄde : En problematiserande analys om grundskolans relationer till omvÀrlden, utifrÄn tre identifierade omrÄden, med biogas som ett praktiskt exempel.
I detta arbete anvÀnds biogasprocessen som ett exempel pÄ hur ett samhÀllsrelaterat vetenskapligt omrÄde kan lyftas in i skolans naturvetenskapliga undervisning. Vi har arbetat fram en laboration om biogas och givit förslag pÄ hur en sÄdan kan anvÀndas direkt i skolan naturvetenskapliga laborativa delar. Vi föreslÄr ett sÀtt att prova om elevers nyfikenhet och upptÀckarglÀdje för naturvetenskap och teknik ökar om undervisningens innehÄll och upplÀgg Àr aktuellt och samhÀllsrelaterat. I arbetet har vi kommit i kontakt med tre omrÄden: Ett naturvetenskapligt forskarsamhÀlle, tillÀmpningar i samhÀllet av ett naturvetenskapligt innehÄll samt skolans naturvetenskapliga undervisning. Relationerna mellan dessa delar Àr med och formar skolans innehÄll och lÀraryrkets komplexa uppdrag.

In this thesis the aim is to explore the connection between International presence and Reconstruction of Postconflict states. The focus in this Analyse is the concept of CIMIC which is the institutional concept of Civil-Military Co-operation in International relations and a concept in Peacebuilding Theory. The cases, which are the empirical Material, is Afghanistan and Kosovo, two most-different cases.The theoretical framework is primarily consider the mechanisms successful for the Reconstruction process in general and within CIMIC in particular. This framework including both theories of State failure and International administered Territories as well as Models for Civil- Military Co-operation.The International presence in Postconflict Societies plays a big role, even thou it is very important that initiatives for rebuilding comes from the state within. The essence of CIMIC is the civil component and the military, operating in Peacebuilding and Reconstruction missions.
SIRA-skolan i Betlehem -En fallstudie
This essay is derived from a case study about the SIRA school in Betlehem. SIRA is classified as a special education school with financial support from the Swedish International Relief Association. SIRA acts to provide support for children with reading and writing difficulties in their daily school work.The study's aim to describe the context for SIRA's specialized educational activity. The formulated questions should provide answers to which factors that influence SIRA's work, its goals, development, and the distinguished pedagogical approach.During the research comprehensive interviews were conducted with parties which can influence the way schools operate and provide the necessary support for students. Factors that influence the school's operation are analyzed from a ecological development perspective created by Urie Bronfenbrenner. The theory advocates that a student's development and interaction mainly comes from participating in activities, social roles and relations.This constant process of mutual adaptation between the developing individual and its surrounding environment is to be defined as its own entity. The result shows that SIRA's practice a special educational operation with focus on an approach which strengthens the student's identity and communicational skills..
FörÀldrars upplevelser av att barnen flyttar hemifrÄn : En kvalitativ studie dÀr förÀldrar beskriver sina personliga erfarenheter av barnens flytt
The aim of the study was to describe parents' experiences of empty nest. The sample consisted of individuals who had experienced one child moving out of the parental home. Data were collected through qualitative semi-structured interviews and were analyzed by using thematic analysis. The thematic analysis revealed four themes, Concerns about the new time in life, Changing roles, Socializing in the family and Testing the relations. Due to the themes participants' stories reveal anxiety facing the time that will come when children takes the step to leave the nest.
Den ambivalenta inhyrda personalen : En socialpsykologisk studie om individuella upplevelser av att arbeta som inhyrd
Syftet med föreliggande studie Àr att ur ett socialpsykologiskt perspektiv undersöka vilka upplevelser inhyrd personal har pÄ ett visst företag beroende pÄ vilken arbetsgrupp de tillhör. I studien har vi utgÄtt frÄn en kvalitativ metod med nio semistrukturerade intervjuer dÀr urvalet bestod av fem manliga informanter och fyra kvinnliga. Resultatet visar att det finns övervÀgande positiva upplevelser av att arbeta som inhyrd pÄ det aktuella företaget dÀr sociala relationer och ett gott bemötande Àr viktiga orsaker till dessa. Resultatet visar Àven pÄ skillnader i upplevelser hos den inhyrda personalen beroende pÄ vilken arbetsgrupp de tillhör och vilka grupprocesser som utspelar sig inom denna. Resultatet har vi sedan analyserat med hjÀlp av ett flertal teoretiker; Moira von Wright, Johan Asplund, Norbert Elias, Georg Simmel, Susan A. Wheelan och Abraham Maslow.

The aim of this Masters thesis is to examine how identity formation is described in a few Swedish youth novels written in the 21^st century. We apply the theories of the psychiatrist Jan Ramström and the sociologist Anthony Giddens who both assume that identity is formed in relation to the environment. Ramström stresses that adults have an important role to play in the integration of the adolescents into the adult society. Giddens stresses that people in the late modernity are affected in their identity formations because of the loss of traditions. In order to find out how identity is formed, four main questions were constructed.
TrÄngt om saligheten - En studie av intresseorganisationers arbete med politisk pÄverkan i det post-korporativa Sverige
The relationship between the government and organised interest in Sweden has changed. Formally considered as a good example of a corporatist state the country during the last 15 years or so experienced a more pluralistic system. This thesis is a qualitative study which discusses how interest groups seek to influence decision makers and policy thru lobbying and public opinion. It also examines how interest groups work with advertising and public relations in a changed climate of mass media. The main method of gathering material has been done thru interviews of representatives of different interest groups.The results of the study paint a picture where the interviewed organizations experience a vast competition in communication and information.
