The Swedish Public Relation industry has gone through a rapid growth in the recent decade. A peculiar, although perhaps not unexpected, development is that former politicians and politically employed individuals to a larger extent have been the subject of recruitment effort from the industry. Simultaneously there has been a public debate concerning the influence on Public Relations and Lobbying over the political agenda. The purpose of this thesis is to widen and deepen the discussion concerning Public Relations consultants. It centers on the individual consultants and takes their competence as the point of departure.

Det finns idag ett flertal teorier om vad som kännetecknar god service, hur god service presteras och vilka krav detta ställer på dagens serviceföretag. Dessa teorier förklarar dock inte hur man i praktiken ska gå tillväga för att uppnå det optimala servicemötet (Svingstedt 2005). Den kraftiga expansion av extraanställningar som nu äger rum inom detaljhandeln förändrar förutsättningarna för levererande av service ytterligare. De krav som ställs på service och flexibilitet inom detaljhandeln, i förhållande till extraanställningar, gör det således intressant att studera hur servicemötet skall fungera enligt teorin, hur det fungerar i praktiken och vilka problem man kan urskilja gällande extraanställningar i servicemötet. Vårt syfte är att belysa problematiken med extraanställda gällande servicemötet i detaljhandelsbranschen, dels ur ett teoretiskt perspektiv, dels ur ett empiriskt perspektiv.

In this Bachelor thesis, we examine how the work of the librarian has changed over the past three decades. The research questions focus on the changes in librarians´ roles and working tasks regarding factors like technique, meetings between librarians and visitors and also how to give service to visitors.We have conducted interviews with librarians at university libraries as well as public libraries. In all, there were four interviews. We have also compared the two types of libraries.We have looked closely at these factors: the tasks of the librarians, the skills needed, how the library has been used as a democratic arena, and what kinds of meetings there are among librarians and users of the library. From these themes we have created interview questions, and our analysis is structured according to the themes.We have worked from a theory on different kinds of identities within the profession.

This essay explores how artwork in the public space can be analysed, conceptualized and described by bringing attention to site. Through an analysis of artworks in the yearly art exhibition of Fittja Open 2011, the essay draws attention to site-specific art and structures of power. The principal aim is to present not only the exhibition of Fittja Open 2011 but also other artwork in the public sphere in Fittja, a suburb to Stockholm. From this point of departure other interests evolve that concerns the "image" of Fittja. The analysis, based on research in art history, architecture, ethnology and philosophy as well as qualitative interviews, also focuses on understanding the role of site and the relations between art practice, institutions and site.The result shows that there are problems with a ruptured interface between the artwork and site.

My purpose with the study is to investigate if it is possible to argue in favor of organizing public libraries according to the client based theory. To create a base to argue from I have studied UFO, a department focused on young adults at the age between 15 and 25 at the public library of Malmö. This case study, performed by investigating the documentation of UFO as well as conducting an interview with the project leader, is the base from which I then can argue for or against the idea of organizing public libraries according to the client based theory. Public libraries should always reflect the communities they serve. This challenges the staff of different libraries in different regions to arrange their organizations accordingly to their local population and to be flexible enough to follow the changes of this population.

The aim of this Master thesis is to delineate the ideology behind the public library politics in Gothenburg, during 1945-50. The study is an archive survey. To be able to account for the public library politics in Gothenburg during the period, the author has studied documents in the archive of the public library board in Gothenburg. The description of the politics is the source for the research papers analysis. The thesis principal issue, is on what ideological basis the public library politics has been formulated in Gothenburg, during the period of interest? The concept of ideology is defined as a coherent system of norms and values.

Syftet är att undersöka vilken inverkan gymnasielärares kursstart har på elevernas motivation och delaktighet. Vad är det som händer i klassrummet och vilka faktorer påverkar elevernas motivation och delaktighet? Fokus ligger på relationen lärare ? elev och elevernas inflytande. Utifrån en kvalitativ metod har två klassrumsobservationer, två lärarintervjuer samt sex elevintervjuer uförts. Resultatet visar på en viss skillnad mellan lärare och elevers uppfattningar om vad som inverkar på kursstarten och i sin tur påverkar eleverna. Lärarna betonar betydelsen av kommunikation med eleverna medan eleverna uttrycker behovet av en tydlig kursgenomgång och en möjlighet att påverka arbetsformerna.

I detta examensarbete beskriver jag utifrån olika teorier arbetet på Kunskapsskolan i relation till hur man där arbetar med och ser på elevernas motivation till skolarbetet. Jag jämför dessutom Kunskapsskolans elever och en kommunal skolas elever då det gäller deras syn på betydelsen av olika faktorer i skolarbetet som kan påverka deras motivation att göra ett bra skolarbete. Syftet är att beskriva och analysera arbetet på Kunskapsskolan i relation till olika teorier om motivation och att jämföra olika skolors elevsyn på olika faktorer i skolan som kan påverka motivationen för skolarbetet. Jag gör en elevenkät på de båda skolorna och gör elev- och lärarintervjuer på Kunskapsskolan. Resultatenvisar attmånga av de åtgärder man använder sig av påKunskapsskolanär i linje med olika motivationsteorier.

The industrialized timber housing process is capable nowadays to build multi-storeyhouses since fairly new changes in the Swedish regulations where made after theadmission of the European Union in 1994.The industrialized process moves parts of the construction process into a highlyeffective factory where 3D-volumes of the building are prefabricated beforetransportation to the building site for assemble.The assembly process is relatively effective compared to the completion of thebuilding service system and this is therefore the main focus in this thesis. Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur pedagogers förhållningssätt i samspelet mellan pedagog och elev påverkar elevernas engagemang och motivation. Vi vill genom studien skapa en möjlighet för alla som är verksamma inom skolan att se hur avgörande den vuxnes bemötande gentemot eleverna är samtidigt som förhållningssättet och dessa faktorers betydelse för elevernas motivation och engagemang betonas. Elevernas motivation påverkas av den vuxnes förhållningssätt. Studien gjordes på två skolor där fem pedagogers förhållningssätt observerades. Utifrån observationer, intervjuer, elevsamtal samt reflekterande frågor som gavs till pedagogerna samlades data in som analyserades och som sedan kopplades till respektive pedagog och deras förhållningssätt samt den respons som eleverna gav.

The aim of this study is to investigate the public libraries use of their websites in their marketing. Our study is based on the websites of 60 public libraries. The libraries are chosen because of their geographical location in three different provinces? Skåne in the south, Östergötland in the middle and Norrbotten in the north. These three choices enable us to cover densely as well as thinly populated areas, the agricultural district, the woodland and cities of various sizes.

This thesis explores the opinion of different participants in the music business regarding music being made available at the public libraries. The aim of the thesis is to answer the following questions; which are the most important issues concerning the distribution of music? How do the informants perceive the public libraries mission and activity in regard to make recorded music available? Which are the benefits/disadvantages with music being made available at public libraries? Seven qualitative, semi-structured interviews were conducted with representatives from the following organisations; SKAP (The Swedish Society of Popular Music Composers), FST (Society of Swedish Composers), SAMI (Swedish Artists and Musicians Interest Organisation) SMF (The Swedish Society of Musicians), SOM (Swedish Independent Musicproducers), IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry) and EMI Music Sweden. A study of literature and articles generated nine themes, which constitutes the frame of reference for the thesis. The result shows that several of the informants have not reflected upon the public library as an important actor when it comes to the distribution of music.

What is e-leadership and how can it be framed in a distance context? How can work motivation be understood as a correlated theme? In prior leadership research and theory it has been taken for granted that leadership occurs in a face-to-face environment, so how to study leadership in a remote context? According to recent research, e-leadership defines this leader-member relation in this new arena, and a central focus of this research has been on communication. Communication is a central theme in the remote setting because it is the only interaction arena which allows leadership to be seen and understood. By conducting a case study in a multi media organization with distance working journalists as focus group this essay aims to bring a deeper understanding of how e-leadership works and how it effects work motivation. The field of media organizations is interesting to study as distance work is not an unusual working environment for journalists, and research has indicated that work motivation needs for these highly specified creative workers are somewhat differentiated from other, for example industrial workers, which implies that motivation theories urges an update.
