Our thesis is an analysis of four librarians view on LGBTQ and which implications these views have on the practical work with LGBTQ issues in the public library. The three ideal types we can identify are the excluding, the including, and the normcritical approach. We also want to know if the four librarians? standpoints can be connected to the above mentioned ideal types. We can see that the area where the implementations of the three ideal types are most visible is the way LGBTQ material is displayed in the library space.

How do you build cities that are exciting and nice to live in? What factors in the physical environment is it that make you feel comfortable in some of the places in the city, but in other places not comfortable at all? Why do some cities have a rich public life in their public realm, while the public realm in other cities is abandoned and empty? How do you plan environments that support people?s physical and mental health? These are questions that I put to myself, and that people who are interested in or working with physical planning should ask themselves. That is why I have been studying an authority on the subject, the Danish Professor Jan Gehl, who has been researching and working with peoplefriendly public realms for 50 years. He is best known for his book Life between buildings that has been a text-book in the education of architects for more than 30 years, and to have initiated Copenhagens most famous pedestrian street, Strøget, to show his theory of how people will use the public realm, if it?s only got the right qualities.
Skandal, sanning och skriverier : En fallstudie om journalisters etiska regler.
This is an essay about journalism and the ethical norms of journalism. Four famous cases have been analyzed; Watergate, News of the World, Joy Rahman and Bill Clinton. When analyzing we used the theories of Denis McQuail and the ethical guidelines of the Swedish Journalist Association. We have also used the ideas of utilitarianism to analyze the chosen cases.We aimed to analyze the roles of the journalists involved and found that the ethical norms are customizable to each and every case. In the Watergate-case the journalists act somewhat in contrast to the ethical guidelines but do so in order to favor the public, which makes it approvable.

The Swedish TV broadcasting market is constantly changing together with the players in it. The questionto be answered by this paper is how the players in the market handle these changes and to what extentthe players are changing the market. Also, are there any differences between the public service andcommercial players in this aspect? The purpose of this paper is to create a better understanding of theSwedish broadcasting market and its player's market orientation. Through case studies of the three mainbroadcasting companies, SVT, TV4-gruppen and MTG, the market is analyzed from their perspective.The conclusions from the analysis show that there are differences in the market orientation betweenpublic service and commercial players, where the commercial companies are more market driven..

In this study my aim has been to discover what connections can be made between the way of creating a library building and the general values concerning the library activities and the library users. What kind of ideology could possibly be reflected in a library room? My study includes two different parts. First of all there is a theoretical section based upon literature relevant for the subject. Here I try to focus on the libraryÕs role in society as a public room.

This study's interest area loops around how it is possible to understand texts' leverage over human thinking and acting. Focus lies on understanding which forces that form people?s views around men and women's relationships and relations in the public room. From this perspective our interest is to explore how the phenomenon rape is expressed in texts and how we can understand how rape through these texts are to be shaped in individuals' thoughts awareness and. Finally, it is also relevant to create understanding for how rape as a discoursive practice can have effects on individuals and society.
PR 2.0 skapar nya digitala relationer och kommunikationsmöjligheter : En fallstudie om ett universitets närvaro på Facebook
Varje år tar två sjökaptensprogram, ett fyraårigt program med fartygsförlagd utbildning och ett treårigt program som kräver att studenten har tidigare erfarenhet av arbete som matros, examen från Sjöfartshögskolan i Kalmar. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur de nyutexaminerade styrmännen upplevde sin första tid i yrket som styrman, om de hade de nödvändiga förkunskaperna för att klara av sitt jobb och om det skilde sig mellan styrmännen från de olika programmen. För att undersöka detta användes en kvalitativ metod där personliga intervjuer genomfördes. Tio styrmän, fem från varje program, som tagit examen från Sjöfartshögskolan i Kalmar våren 2012 valdes slumpvis ut för intervjuer. Resultatet från intervjuerna visade att styrmännen var nöjda med sina förkunskaper från Sjöfartshögskolan i Kalmar.
Varumärkeskommunikation och relationer inom abonnemangsbranschen : En fallstudie i varumärket 3
Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka relationer mellan ett varumärke i som erbjuder servicetjänster och unga konsumenter. Syftet besvaras genom fyra frågeställningar gällande varumärkets kommunikation, hur konsumenterna uppfattar varumärket och hur konsumenterna relaterar till varumärket. Undersökningen teoretiska ramverk består av teorier och begrep inom området Public Relations, centrala begrepp är märkeslojalitet, position, identitet och image.Undersökningens empiri är insamlad genom en deskriptiv anals av varumärket 3, två informantintervjuer med säljare på 3 och två fokusgruppsintervjuer med unga konsumenter. Empiri är analyserat genom en innehållsanalys och de slutsatser som framkom är att relationen mellan konsumenter och varumärke är skev, där varumärket kommunicerar en image som inte uppfattas likadant av konsumenterna. Det framkom även att den relation som konsumenterna har till varumärket är en form av märkeslojalitet som grundar sig mer på bekvämlighet än ren lojalitet..

Urination is a biological need but the routines surrounding urination are culturally specific and ever changing. This makes the organization of public space an important part in deciding what actions are made possible for the people in it. This paper considers women?s public urination and the possibilities to merge the need to urinate and the construction of the female body as feminine.A number of texts that describe the construction of the female body and identity as both gendered and socially produced are analysed in relation to women?s experiences of incontinence. Incontinence as a medical diagnosis is by this becoming possible to question, and may be seen as one of several strategies used to manage both the organization of the public space and the expectations of the female body to be a docile body.The conclusion is that a woman who wants to enter public space has the following options when it comes to the need to urinate:To strive for the feminine ideal.

The aims were to investigate the public awareness of aphasia in a Swedish sample and examine if knowledge of aphasia relates to gender, education or age. Participant?s sources of knowledge of aphasia were examined. A total of 153 individuals, aged 18-90, were surveyed. Participants were categorized into three groups; heard of, knowledge of and not heard of aphasia.

This Bachelor?s thesis is about crime-fiction in Swedish public libraries and aims at investigating the attitude of librarians employed within the public library sector with regards to crime-fiction writing. Therefore, our aim is to examine how public sector librarians assess the quality of crime fiction writing compared to other forms of fiction. And research has shown that librarians haven't always looked upon crime-fiction favorably. The established view of crime-fiction was widely seen by the majority of public sector librarians as a lower form of literature and regarded it as a form of mass culture.

Strong relationships are something that is really important for companies to succeed with, in purpose to increase and protect their market shares. After major research on the subject, it has been found that variables like exchange of relationship, trust, control mutability, satisfaction and commitment are important in the establishment of measuring a relationship. The purpose with this thesis was to: increase the knowledge on how companies measure, and then consequently evaluate, their relationships. To answer the purpose of the study we chose to do a case study at Stadium AB, which is a retailing concern with a high level of customer contact on a daily basis. The conclusion is that trust most likely is the key variable in measuring relationships.
