Grundfrågan för den här uppsatsen är: Hur styr vi våra liv? Jag kommer att försöka formulera ett svar utifrån debatten mellan liberaler och kommunitarister. Det kan tyckas vara en fråga med stora implikationer som jag har valt. Det är det för all del också. Jag varken tror att jag kan, eller har ambitionen att täcka hela det fält som frågan täcker.

During the last decade working with competence has emerged as a more strategically important area. Today the human resources in a company are considered a competitive advance and the HR-units play a significant role when it comes to HR-management. Different motives for investing in strategies that promote competence development and learning also exist. The purpose of this paper was to examine how the process of competence development was managed at a large global company. The empirical material consisted of four persons who were interviewed and the analysis of the material was inspired by grounded theory.From the analysis four major themes or core factors emerged as central to the interviewed persons' understanding of the competence development process; solid preparatory work in relation to competence development, communication, awareness of responsibilities and finally the taking action and evaluation of the action.

Vi vuxna känner igen en hel del schablonbilder i Harry Potter-böckerna; vi har stött på namnen och företeelserna förut i myter, religion och i symbolvärlden. Men de yngre läsarna med föga eller ingen tidigare läsvana, som troligtvis aldrig har stött på ?de gamla litterära motiven? tidigare, attraheras ändå av böckerna. Frågan jag därför ställer är om de unga läsarna enbart fascineras av äventyren, spänningen och humorn i böckerna. Eller om det finns något i människans inre som tilltalas av den dolda innebörden i texterna, som förmedlas av symbolerna och myterna i berättelserna.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka elevers tankar, känslor och upplevelser av studier inom det individuella gymnasieprogrammet. Enligt tidigare forskning och enligt teorierna framgår det att elever som går det individuella programmet har negativa tankemönster, upplever psykisk ohälsa och depressiva symtom. I undersökningen har både kvantitativa och kvalitativa data analyserats. En enkätundersökning har skickats ut hos eleverna och två intervjuer har gjorts, en intervju med en lärare och en med en kurator. Resultatet visar höga procent av negativa tankemönster, depression och psykisk ohälsa hos eleverna.

Förhållandevis lite har skrivits om vilken inverkan olika väderfeno-men har på människan. Däremot finns mer forskning angående mil-jön och vikten av dagsljus. Den här studien ville undersöka om det ligger någon sanning i att vädret verkligen styr både vår fysiska och mentala hälsa. Vad är det egentligen som gör människan så engage-rad i ett fenomen, är det vädret i sig eller ?bara? föreställningar.

The aim of this study is to look at the environmental effect on toddlers? social interactions during free play in two older and two newer preschools. Furthermore, we would like to investigate four preschool teachers? thoughts about the indoor environment when it comes to toddlers? interaction during free play.Qualitative methods containing interviews of the preschool teachers and observations of the children during their free playtime have been used to help us reach our conclusions. In addition, our theoretical conclusions have been derived from both the sociocultural perspective and the environmental psychology perspective.Our results have shown that variations in the preschool environment are of importance in the outcome of toddlers? different social interactions.

Mass media is becoming more and more personalized and despite common ideas it could actually be a good thing. Instead of affecting the actual content of news coverage it might only have an effect on the way in which news are presented. Famous politicians more regularly become symbols and synonyms for their parties or for the government and are being used to create interest in the beginning of articles.Those are the results from a content analysis of the newspaper coverage of the Swedish parliamentary election in 1976 and 2006 in which the scientist categorized each article in one of four ideal types, counted quotes and analyzed whether personal names were interchangeable with party names without affecting the content. All three methods showing that it is the presentation, not the content, which has been personalized.At the same time, psychology-science tells us about the human brains associative learning processes, where memorizing becomes far more efficient when the information can be connected to an already known person. The aim of this paper is to examine the layout of public spaces and its effect on human behavior with focus on the relation between pedestrians and cyclists movement patterns in a specific path. The study emanates from the security aspect of pedestrians and cyclists, and builds upon previous theories and empirical studies about perception, security, information design, environmental psychology and behavior. The result shows that individual behavior and movement pattern differs with age, purpose, physical- and other conditions, and layout of the surroundings. A design proposal for improved layout of a path and a node between different oncoming paths has been developed to aid the users? needs, where a separation of walkways and bike lanes forms zones of security for the purpose of better orientation and a better flow between the users..

This essay seeks to articulate how one should understand Adorno´s perspective on Kant. The essay produces an interpretation of this very complicated relationship using the (Nietzschean) concepts "affinity" and "ressentiment" : an elucidation that will hopefully make clear that the works of Adorno in many ways constitute a pursuance of Kant´s philosophical insights to their logical ends, especially with the regard to the questions about the purpose of philosophy and its various demands on knowledge, personality, society, ways of ressistence etc..

Jag vill i den här uppsatsen ge mig in i en värld där ära och heder ständigt står på spel. En värld där ett enda illa valt ord kan orsaka en släktfejd och få förödande konsekvenser vad det gäller att skörda människoliv. Världen är ganska fåordig och enkel, känslorna är raka och direkta. Det finns ungefär 50 stycken bevarade isländska sagor, och det är två av dessa jag vill studera närmare. I de isländska sagorna är det ofta männen som är centrala figurer, kring dem kretsar de flesta äventyr och de är ofta huvudpersoner i uppgörelser och vid tingsplatser.

Temat för arbetet är musikskapande och har som syfte att undersöka min individuella kreativitet och dess kännetecken. Men syftet består också i att avgöra användbarheten av detta. Det rör sig om en psykologisk självstudie med ett fenomenologiskt angreppssätt. I mitt fall har detta inneburit att jag, efter att ha arrangerat en i mitt tycke kreativ upplevelse, beskrev denna händelse för att sedan analysera texten på fenomenologiskt vis. P.g.a.

Abstract The main purpose of this study was to investigate if and how the employees in elderly care experience stress and which underlying causes they understand to be important in their work situation. The purpose was also to investigate whether Karaseks and Theorells demands and control models could be used to explain the employees feelings of stress and to see in which categories the participants are in. Furthermore, the purpose was also to understand the participants work situation and to describe the factors and remedies the employees perceive to contribute to the stress levels at their workplace. 81 questionnaires were distributed at three different locations, two of which were in Ronneby and one in Örebro. 56 people answered the questionnaires. The result yielded that 80% of the participants felt stress during their working hours the last few years. The results are in agreement with the demands and control models which showed that people with high demands and low control experienced a higher degree of stress than people with lower demands and higher control, which corroborates the hypothesis 1.1..

Syftet med denna studie var att öka kunskapen om hur syskon påverkas av att växa upp med ett funktionshindrat syskon. De flesta av oss kommer att möta människor i skolan och arbetet som växer upp eller har vuxit upp med ett syskon med ett funktionshinder. Denna studie genomfördes med hjälp av 52 öppna och slutna frågor som studerade 16 syskons uppfattning angående ansvarstagande, hjälpsamhet och uppfattningen av syskonskapet i relation till platsen i syskonskaran. Studien visade att de som har en åldersskillnad på upp till 2,5 år förklarar för andra om syskonets funktionshinder i större utsträckning än ensambarn. Resultat visade även att yngre systrar undviker konflikter med sina föräldrar i större utsträckning än deras äldre systrar.

The purpose of this study was to do a narrative survey of the discussion about violence in partner relationships that is held in research literature. The question at issue was: How do research literature discuss violence in partner relationships, with focus on heterosexual relationships? The eight primary documents that have been chosen are written by researchers, professional therapists, National Counsil for Women's protection (Nationellt Råd för Kvinnofrid, NRK) and Swedish Government Official Report (Statens Offentliga Utredningar, SOU). To investigate the theories, discover the similarities and differences between them and how they can complement each other, the documents statements has been analyzed with a dialectic-hermeneutic approach and social constructionism and discourse theory.The research findings showed that the gender perspective theory, the psychodynamic theory and the social psychology theory have a few things in common, but that they on the whole are different and contradict each other. The gender perspective theory dominates the discussion but needs to be combined with the other theories to give a more all-embracing understanding.
