My objective for this project was to create a short but thrilling 2D-animation intended as promotion for an online comic book. The purpose of the project was to learn more about animation and graphics, to further my artistic skills and to learn how to work in Adobe After Effects. I also wanted to learn more about scheduling, project methods and how to handle stress. During the ten weeks of the project I have created the story, the storyboard, the character design, the backgrounds and the animation. The voice over was recorded with the help of a fellow student who also made the music and the sound effects.

The present study examines the effect of a nine-hour Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT) intervention for teachers who experience stress. Twenty-two teachers from four different counties in southern Sweden were randomly allocated to an ACT intervention (n=15) and a control group (n=7). The ACT condition received three three-hour sessions of ACT over a six-week period, and the control group received a three-hour stress lecture at one occasion. At a follow-up four-weeks after completed intervention, ACT participants showed significant in-group differences on stress, psychological flexibility, general health, and burnout. At a between group comparison, only psychological flexibility was significantly enhanced at the follow-up.

Syftet med denna kvantitativa studie var att utifrån Susan A. Wheelans IMGD teori undersöka hur det organisatoriska stödet ser ut i arbetsgrupper på olika utvecklingsnivåer och om det finns samband mellan sådant stöd och utvecklingsnivå, vilken är unison med gruppens prestationsnivå. Genom en websurvey som distribuerades till ett bekvämlighetsurval via Facebook samlades data in från 52 deltagare, verksamma i arbetsgrupper inom skilda arbetsområden. Resultatet visade ett signifikant samband mellan organisatoriskt stöd och grupputvecklingsnivå. Resultatet visade även att det genomgående fanns utrymme för deltagarnas organisationer att öka stödet till sina arbetsgrupper, främst i fråga om utbildning och utveckling samt feedback, erkännande och belöningar på gruppnivå.

The aim of this inquiry was to investigate the most appropriate measures to reduce noise impacts from road traffic on the Nydala recreational area in Umeå municipality due to the planned re-routing of the E4 motorway to an existing road along this area. The sound environment is an important part in the experience when we are visiting recreational areas. Noise is not only disturbing; the liberty from unwanted sounds also allows us to perceive natural sounds that are a benefit for the cultural experience. Therefore it is important to take actions to protect this well used area from traffic noise. The reasonable options to avoid noise impact in this case are to lower the speed limit, using a noise reducing coating or use noise protection screens and walls.

Ångest inför statistikämnet (Statistics anxiety) försämrar prestationerna och kan få studenter att undvika statistikstudier. Syftet med studien var att undersöka ifall studenter som upplevde ett stödjande klassrumsklimat (Sense of Community) hade mindre statistikångest. Syftet var också att undersöka om det fanns skillnader i upplevd Statistics anxiety och Sense of Community mellan campus- och distansstudenter. En webbenkät besvarades av 13 campusstudenter och 28 distansstudenter i åldrarna 20-51 år (M=29,4). Statistiska analyser visade inget samband mellan de båda begreppen i analys med samtliga studenter, däremot fanns ett positivt samband för studenter i årskurs två.

The purpose of this study is to examine the experiences of five students searching for information in the context of writing a bachelor thesis. The main questions regard what strategies they use whilst searching for information, their relevance judgements and their feelings. The method used is the qualitative interview. The students were doing their third term in psychology. All the students were interviewed twice while working on the thesis.

The main aim of the study was to examine the importance of organizational climate for affective job-related wellbeing. A further aim was to investigate potential differences in employee level in the experience of organizational climate and wellbeing. Another purpose was to see if there was agreement in the view of the organizational climate among the employees. Questionnaires were collected from 44 employees at a chain store. Results showed that Integration, Involvement, Supervisory Support, Training, Welfare, Innovation and Flexibility, Goal Clarity, Efficiency, Effort, Performance Feedback, Pressure to Produce and Quality had a great influence on Enthusiasm but only Pressure to Produce and Welfare correlated with Anxiety.

Uppsatsen behandlar ett antal teorier om vilken påverkan ljudsignaler har på individen. Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur individen påverkas av ljudsignaler och kopplar ihop ljudsignaler som en teknisk produkt är avsedd att förmedla. För att på bästa sätt kunna utforska fenomenet utfördes ett experiment med hjälp av musikprogrammet Acoustica Mixcraft och åtta stycken ljudsignaler, varav 16 personer deltog i undersökningen. Fastställning av data presenterades i 3 tre- vägs ANOVA. Resultat på ? nivå redovisas, samt en interaktion mellan faktorer.

The interest of mindfulness has grown steadily during the last two decades. Mindfulness presence in the area of social work is mostly as an intervention offered to clients. However, the purpose of this study is to examine what implications the social worker?s mindfulness may have for the relationship with the clients. There is a lack of scientific studies focusing on mindfulness and the relationship between the client and the social worker.

Studiens syfte är att undersöka meningsskapande som ett socialpsykologiskt fenomen. Mer specifiktförsöker studien förstå vad som motiverar kundtjänstarbetarna på ett callcenter i västsverige, till attfortsätta arbeta med ett arbete som är lågavlönat, hårt reglerat och monotont.I studien kommer läsaren att få ta del av empiri baserad på tio livsvärldsintervjuer, därkundtjänstarbetare berättar om sina upplevelser av att arbeta i ett callcenter. Empirin visar attmajoriteten av kundtjänstarbetarna upplever sitt arbete ogynnsamt, då kundtjänstarbetarna sällan fårutvecklas eller självförverkligas inom arbetet. Flera kundtjänstarbetare finner heller inget tydligtsyfte med att göra sina arbetsuppgifter. Istället arbetar flera kundtjänstarbetarna för att få enekonomisk tillgång.

This is a thesis about The Eight Circuit Model, a modern mind map developed for the purpose of illumination and enlighenment by Dr. Timothy Leary in the 1970s. Later, authors such as Robert Anton Wilson and Antero Alli elaborated upon the idea to make it more wholesome and compatible with other ideas expressing the same basic principle. In short, it is an intellectual abstraction of the evolution of consciousness through a series of eight stages, which Leary called Circuits. By looking at the brain as an evolving bio-computer, with thoughts working as software, upgrading itself through neurological imprints, Learys created a Hero's Journey for the modern age.The thesis tries to analyze this idea, as it is presented in Robert Anton Wilsons Prometheus Rising, through the lens of the discourse category ?Western Esoterism.? A hard-to-define subject but described as ?the dialectic of the hidden and the revealed in the field of religion.?.

In the project, my ambition was to make a stage design for theater withteenagers as target group. I have worked with the musical theater groupTheater ACTA in Gothenburg and independently from scripts, interpretedand shaped an outline for the basis of the set design of the play?s differentelements. The play, If this was a feel-good movie, is written by Elin Frostand Anna Lundholm, two members of Theater ACTA. The story is aboutthree people in their twenties with different relationships to each other andone week that would change their lives.

The aim of this study was to investigate leadership in public health care. The methods used were shadowing and semi-structured interviews. The shadowing involved observing the shared leadership of two head nurses in an administrative management position of a ward in their daily work during two weeks. The observation was supplemented by ten semi-structured interviews. A thematic analysis of the data was carried out and the result indicated that shared leadership is a form of leadership well suited for an organisation as big and complex as the clinic where the study took place.

The purpose of the following study is to examine whether or not differences can be found between a group of aspiring police students (N=59) and a student group (N=20). Comparisons were made between the following variables: general illhealth, subjective experienced stress, trait anxiety and the three coping strategies, which are emotion focused coping, problem focused coping and seeking social support. In addition the results were compared with former research on the general illhealth and trait anxiety of the police students with that of a group police officers with several years of experience (N=69).The result of this showed that the police students had a significantly better level of general than the studentgroup. Several positive relations between the variables were found, among others between illhealth and trait anxiety, subjective experienced stress and trait anxiety and also between different types of coping strategies and subjective experienced stress..

Arbetets strävan är att ge en sammanhållen bild av den sociala snedrekryteringen som en process vilken tar sin början redan under grundskolans första år och vilken till del är språkligt betingad. Uppsatsen inleds med en beskrivning av den sociala snedrekryteringens process och omfattning, vilket följs av en överblick av språksociologiska förklaringsmodeller till fenomenet. Därpå presenteras och diskuteras material från det svenska forskningsfältet. Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka och redogöra för på vilket sätt socialt betingade språkskillnader bidrar till den sociala snedrekryteringen till högre studier. För att åstadkomma detta har en teoretisk studie gjorts där så väl empiriska som teoretiska studier granskats och sammanförts.
