This Master thesis discusses the development of a virtual human soft tissue object for use in exercise applications of various medical procedures.The soft tissue object to be developed shall look like, feel like and behave as living human tissue. It shall give the user a realistic feeling of weight, softness and roughness, and shall behave in a correct way for exercise purposes. The soft tissue model is to be used in a three dimensional stereo graphic environment with haptic feedback. A prototype for practicing the procedure of inserting a catheter is built. The prototype is used to evaluate the potential of the virtual environment for medical exercise applications, and to assess the realism and usability of the soft tissue object.

Västertorp, ännu en ansiktslös Stockholmsförort, i stort behov av nya sim- och idrottshallar, samt i kanske ännu större behov av lite WOW-faktor. Hur åstadkommer man detta utan att frångå ett tämligen strikt program? Min utgångspunkt var att först fokusera på funktionalitet och därefter, när jag ritat ett fungerande bad, i detta hitta arkitektoniska kvalitéer jag kunde utveckla. Erkännas måste dock att detta var något slags nödlösning efter att jag under projektets första hälft gått vilse i medeltiden och ritat på något så absurt som en badborg. Förutom funktioner så präglade symmetri och i viss grad realism projektet och slutresultatet påminner om något Santiago Calatrava och Albert Speer skulle kunnat samarbeta fram tillsammans med en funktionalist.

Fullskalesimulering har under det senaste decenniet blivit ett vanligt inslag i sjuksköterskeutbildningar. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att med utgångspunkt från Blooms taxonomi beskriva erfarenheten av att använda fullskalesimulering som inlärningsmetod för sjuksköterskestudenter. Litteraturstudien genomfördes som en systematisk litteraturöversikt. Tre databaser användes för att finna aktuell forskning. Arton artiklar ingick i analysen som utgick ifrån tre områden i Blooms taxonomi, det kognitiva, affektiva och psykomotoriska.

This essay focuses on the film Joker (2019) directed by Todd Phillips. It examines the narration and the use of music as a narrative device to discuss questions about identification and perception through close textual analysis. The aim is to research this in combination with the film?s complex storytelling and unreliable narration. The essay use several narratological and psychological theories as well as psychopathology.

In order to be a good teacher according to preferences from outside the school area, there are many different voices to listen to. The different roles that are assigned for teachers are colliding with the latest research from the pedagogical institutions and therefore the role as a teacher of today is in a complex state of mind. Somewhere, between the traditional role of teaching and the moderating ideal image, reality is revealed in the ambivalent role of the teacher of today. In this pedagogical essay on advanced level we are focusing on obstacles that are hindering the moderating teacher?s role, to be fully developed in the classroom.

Föreliggande arbete utgör en delstudie i projektet Automatiserad telefonuppföljning inom Kriminalvården. Projektets övergripande syfte var att undersöka tillämpbarheten av Interactive Voice Response (IVR) som en modern metod för utvärdering, övervakning och påverkan av intagna som blivit villkorligt frigivna från ett fängelsestraff. IVR är en metodik baserat på automatiserade telefonintervjuer som bl. a innebär att en dator har programmerats för att ringa upp, ställa frågor, registrera svar och ge feedback till klienterna. I tidigare publikation från projektet undersöktes med hjälp av automatiserade telefonuppföljningar (IVR) hur stress och mående samt användande av alkohol och droger utvecklas under de trettio första dagarna efter avslutad anstaltsvistelse (Andersson et al, 2011).

Den föreliggande texten är en utifrån ett socialkonstruktionistisk och relativistiskt perspektiv baserad undersökning av relativismens och realismens skilda ontologier. Texten argumenterar för giltigheten i en socialkonstruktionistisk förståelse av det sociala och framvisar ett antal framträdande problem med realismens Weltanschauung. Relaterat till detta behandlas en diskursteoretisk  syn på sociala fenomen tillsammans med etnometodologiskt och foucauteanskt inriktade perspektivs olika uppfattningar om valet av relevant kontext vid samhällsvetenskapliga analyser. Vidare genomförs en diskurspsykologisk läsning av en tidsskriftsartikel, en läsning som framför allt exemplifierar problematiken med realismens konstruktion av verkligheten som objektiv och självframträdande. Slutligen görs i textens avslutande del ett försök att fördjupa den socialkonstruktionistiska kritiken av realismen, framför allt i syfte att antyda en möjlighet att bryta dualismen autonom verklighet?konstruerad verklighet samt utstaka riktningen för en motsättningarnas sociologi..

Every tenth year a financial crisis tend to interfere with an economy. Price bubbles with an accompanying market plunge are therefore not a new phenomenon. Such market disruptions have been causing problems for centuries, as history has a tendency to repeat itself. The intention with this study is to learn more about the bubble phenomenon and increase the knowledge in this area in order to, if possible, prevent such a thing from happening again. The purpose of the essay is to identify factors that significantly affected the development of the so called IT-bubble in Sweden and Finland during the years of 1995-2000.

Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att belysa hur livet förändras hos patienter som fått genomgå en stomioperation. Metoden som användes var en litteraturstudie och inkluderade både kvalitativa och kvantitativa artiklar. Tio studier inkluderades och resultatet presenterades under de tre huvudrubrikerna sexualitet, psykologiskt samt socialt. Resultatet visade att patienter med stomi har stort behov av information och stöd från närstående. Den egna kroppsbilden påverkas mycket visade många studier.

Denna uppsats kretsar kring att pröva hur en av de främsta företrädarna för den realistiska skolan, förklarar de amerikanska anfallen mot Afghanistan (2001) och Irak (2003). Hans namn är Robert Kagan och uppsatsen syftar till ge en realists tolkning till varför USA handlade som man gjorde. Man måste därför försöka uppfatta världen utifrån USA:s horisont och försöka tolka samt sätta sig in i den amerikanska positionen på den internationella arenan. Problemformuleringarna kretsar kring att få insikt i grundstenarna i Kagans teori, samt hur Kagans grundsyn skiljer sig gentemot den idealistiska. Vidare hur USA:s militära styrka, enligt Kagan, påverkar dess beteende på den internationella arenan, men även hur Kagan ser på USA:s kommande globala engagemang.

The aim of this study was to deepen the knowledge about the meaning of being internationally adopted for individuals living in Sweden. Through group discussions with young adults data was retrieved, and then analysed with a qualitative phenomenological approach. The study revealed three main themes: 1) experiences of being Swedish, 2) experiences of ethnic origin, and 3) the interaction between the two aspects of the identity, how the internationally adopted individual integrate's his/her ethnical origin with his/her Swedish identity. With regards to previous studies about adoption and psychological theories the meaning of being internationally adopted in Sweden is discussed..

To assure good quality the software needs to be tested to find errors and to verify that the programme meets the customer?s expectations. Traditional methods are usually used in software development and means that a number of predetermined steps are followed. By using agile methods the development can more easily be adapted to the changes on the market. With these methods the testing is carried out continuously throughout the project.

Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to study the adaptation of recently recruited young professionals to a top consulting firm through their identity construction efforts. We analyze the influence of a major organization-related discourse on young professionals in order to account for the effects of emotional labor on their adaptation to work. Methodology: We have studied our empirical material in the light of a reflexive pragmatic approach. Thus throughout the analysis of interview material, we try to interpret carefully the material from various perspectives. As authors, we also reflect critically upon our own interpretations.

This paper is an analysis of the hell theme in Rob Bell's book Love Wins. A Book About Heaven, Hell and the Fate of Every Person Who Ever Lived. Using a constructivist text analysis the essay examines how Bell creates a theology around the image of hell that he advocates. The study aims to analyze and explain how Bell constructs the meaning he advocates in the concept of hell. This includes an analysis of the passages in the book that discusses what the term hell refers to and the passages that deal with properties of hell.

What drove me to write this paper is the will to  examine if there is a philosophically and scientifically viable  alternative foundation for an objective morality other than what we like to refer to as "God". The  American philosopher and neuroscientist Sam Harris presents in his book The Moral Landscape a thesis for an objective morality based on science in which he states that  science can determine human values. The purpose of this paper is to perform a theoretical trial of The Moral Landscape, examining Harris' thesis and it's relations to the philosophical obstacles that stands in its way, these being mainly the famous philosophical principle "Hume's Law" and G.E. Moore's "Naturalistic Fallacy and Open Question Argument" and thus will serve as my main theoretical foundation. The results of my study was not conclusive since Harris in fact doesn't succeed in bridging the gap between facts and values on a scientific ground.
