Studien handlar om långtidssjuka, utlandsfödda kvinnors upplevelser av den arbetslivsinriktade rehabilitering de har fått och huruvida de upplever att den har varit betydelsefull, värdefull och stärkande för dem och i så fall på vilket sätt. Undersökningen har genomförts med en kvalitativ metod och består av fem semistrukturerade intervjuer med kvinnor i åldern 45-52 år, som är födda i Mellanöstern och har bott i Sverige i mer än 20 år. Gemensamt för samtliga informanter är att de har diagnosen fibromyalgi. Studien visar på att kvinnorna i nuläget mår så dåligt att de sannolikt har ett större behov av medicinsk rehabilitering än arbetslivsinriktad rehabilitering. De upplever att sammanhållna rehabiliteringsprogram och samtalsstöd har varit de rehabiliteringsinsatser som har hjälpt dem i störst utsträckning..

Denna uppsats behandlar lesbiskt relationsvåld, och syftet var att undersöka vilka föreställningar socialsekreterare har kring lesbiskt relationsvåld samt hur de ser på förutsättningarna för att utföra ett bra arbete med denna grupp. Vi utgick från följande frågeställningar: Vilka föreställningar har socialsekreterare om dem som utövar våld i lesbiska relationer? Vilka föreställningar har socialsekreterare om dem som blir utsatta för våld i lesbiska relationer? Vilka förklaringsmodeller/teorier utgår socialsekreterare ifrån i sina resonemang kring lesbiskt relationsvåld? Vilka förutsättningar anser sig socialsekreterare ha på sin arbetsplats för att göra ett bra arbete med lesbiska i våldsamma relationer?Vi hade en hermeneutisk ansats, och vi använde en kvalitativ metod. Utifrån fem intervjuer med socialsekreterare undersökte vi vilka föreställningar de hade kring lesbiskt relationsvåld. I analysen användes två teoretiska perspektiv, socialkonstruktivism och empowerment.

Background: The prevalence of dementia increases both in Sweden and in the rest of the world. People with dementia often display some types of behavioral and psychological symptoms. These symptoms include, among other things, aggressiveness, inactivity, activity disturbance, anxiety, hallucinations and depression. The symptoms can create a negative impact of those with dementia, their caregivers and their next of kin. Aim: To describe the effect of non-pharmacological treatments have on the behavioral and psychological symptoms of people with dementia.

This thesis examines the organization Empower and their members, who consist of sex working women in Thailand. The purpose is to explore the more liberal point of view of prostitution and how the female members perceive Empower. Furthermore the study investigates if the organization can improve the sex workers empowerment. The study also delineates how these women reflect on their professional role as a sex working woman and whether the women relate to feminine discourses. The study is implemented in Chiang Mai, Thailand during the fall of the year 2010 and is based on qualitative methods like interview, focus group, observations and text analysis.

Forskning visar att empowerment ger ett ökat holistiskt välbefinnande. Empowermentredskapet i diabetesvården innebär att sjuksköterskan sätter patienten i centrum och hjälper honom att hitta kunskap och egen motivation. Med detta i grunden har patienten goda förutsättningar att självständigt fatta beslut, föreslå behandlingar, reflektera och utvärdera resultatet av dem tillsammans med sjuksköterskan. Empowermentinriktningen i patientundervisningen genomsyras av en strävan efter en känsla av jämlikhet och respekt, samt en önskan att gemensamt komma fram till problemlösningar. The use of mindfulness in healthcare is increasing in Sweden. A so-called secular form of mindfulness is also increasing within mediated contemporary psychology and is used in many areas such as schools, workplaces and when giving birth. The method originates from Buddhism and is much more complex than the form of mindfulness marketed in Sweden today. The religious heritage of mindfulness is interesting to study in such a secular society as Sweden, where the material for this study is found. The aim of this study is therefore to investigate whether mindfulness still is a form of religious coping or if it has become completely secularized, and thus free of its religious origin.

Denna uppsats handlar om hur den kommunala verksamheten Bojen kan påverka livskvalitén för familjer som har barn med neuropsykiatriska funktionsnedsättningar så som ADHD och Asperger syndrom. Intervjuer har genomförts med ungdomar och föräldrar som är knutna till verksamheten. Därefter har materialet analyserats med hjälp av teoretiska begrepp som KASAM (känsla av sammanhang), socialt stöd/sociala nätverk och empowerment. Resultatet visar på vilken betydelse verksamheten har för den enskilda individens livssituation, samt hur förbättrade förutsättningar kan göra skillnad för ungdomarnas framtid. Exempelvis kan utvecklade färdigheter och rätt verktyg gynna Bojens deltagare för att klara sig även i sociala sammanhang som inte är anpassade till deras svårigheter..

The focus of this essay is to further investigate and describe psychological strains experienced by child welfare workers. The method used was qualitative interviews, two group interviews. The research aimed to understand how child welfare workers were affected and handled the psychological strains generated by work through theory of coping and symbolic interactionism where humans are viewed as pragmatic actors. The research showed, as previous studies shown, that the child welfare workers experience a great deal of psychological strains generated by high turnover in staff and pressuring work demands. The child welfare workers felt inadequate and alone in their work tasks and experienced stress and anxiety.

This master thesis in library- and information science is about the intermediary function of the library room from an environment-psychological point of view. Young people are a group in society who often reduce their visits to the library when growing up. There are lots of reasons for this maybe more attractive activities occur outside the library doors, making the young choose not to use the library. But if the library interior is attractive in itself, and has a welcoming atmosphere, there might be a change and the young people may well choose to pay the library a visit. What is important to young people how do they want their library room to look? Our purpose is to see how the physical environment affects young people in libraries.

The aim of this study was to examine the possibilities to enter the regular labour market for pupils and young adults with intellectual disabilities. The method used is tape-recorded qualitative interviews with; Two pupils with intellectual disabilities, studying the last year at a special school. Two young adults with intellectual disabilities, former pupils at a special school and at the moment in search of work at a Public Employment Service office for young adults with disabilities. Furthermore were interviews made with two professionals, one student counsellor at a special school and one representative at a Public Employment Service office for young adults with disabilities. For analysing the empirical data, Iris Marion Young's theory about Five Faces of Oppression, Crip theory and Dalrymple and Burkes theory about empowerment was used.

Introduction: Public health is based on the determinants of health. They mutually influence each other. Structural factors and life conditions contribute to health inequality both within and between countries. Health inequality can be seen between different social groups, which can be the cause of differences in living conditions, health behavior and disease vulnerability. One of the consequences of this is segregation which means that certain groups live apart, where this distribution can be connected to economic resources and/or ethnicity.

This qualitative studie discusses how psychologists can integrate clients' secular or religious philosophies into counseling and psychotherapy, as themes that are psychologically meaningful. The studie also discusses how psychologists can understand and respond to the psychological aspects of clients' existential and religious experiences. Eight psychologists were interviewed and their experiences were analysed using a phenomenological method.The results of the interviews suggested that the eight psychologists could handle the psychological aspects of clients' philosophies, by investigating their own personal philosophies and scientific ontologies. It was also discussed how an awareness of the psychologists' professional boundaries and personal experiences of existential and religious phenomenons, could facilitate an integration of clients' existential and religious experiences..

This study examines university employees? perception of their employment situation and career opportunities. By tradition, fixed term contracts are used in the Swedish research community due to dependency on insecure funding. There is a current debate that questions this use of insecure employments. The employments are said to negatively affect the university?s societal role and international competitiveness.

The purpose of this case study was to examine consequences of a limited social citizenship among young adults in the refugee camp of DeHeishe in Palestine. In order to receive a profounder understanding of conditions and structures that affects young adult?s experiences of social citizenship, status in the community and practices a case study was carried out during April 2013.The data has been collected by triangulation, conducted through nine interviews, 52 survey forms and several observations in DeHeishe camp. The data was analyzed through the theoretical approach of social citizenship, intersectionality and the concept of ?empower-ment?.

This paper is supposed to get an answer to how teenagers in a municipality in Kalmar Län in Sweden think about their individual role in a community. The essay is a comparative investigation at how age can affect teenagers's view at the community, based on contractualistic approach. The method for this studie is a quantitative survey in which students in two different classes are compared. The method for comparing takes place using the theoretical position, which is based on the individual's social maturity in the Swedish society.
