Bakgrund och problem: Varje år investeras det stora summor i den forskningsbaserade läkemedelsindustrin. Investeringarna innebär stora risker då det är få läkemedel som genererar tillräckligt stora vinster för att täcka kostnaderna. Sedan år 2005 har svenska koncerner tillämpat IFRS, vilket har medfört större krav på redovisningen av FoU. Valet att aktivera eller kostnadsföra utgifterna för FoU har debatterats mycket och valet påverkar företagets finansiella ställning. Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen är att utreda hur redovisningen av FoU och patent ser ut hos läkemedelsföretag i Sverige som använder sig av IAS 38 och hur redovisningsvalen har påverkats av införandet av IFRS.

The last couple of years the use of mobile devices such as mobile phones and PDAs has increased tremendously. Most of the these devices have their own protocols for synchronising data and this has given rise to a need for a standard synchronisation protocol, SyncML. This thesis compares this protocol against the existing ones. The comparison shows that the preferred choice is SyncML. Also an application using SyncML has been developed.

The purpose of this report is to outline the development of a dynamic Microsoft Silverlight application, which will be able to present products and be administered in a simple manner. The project has been carried out at Incordia AB, a company that specializes in e-commerce, situated in Helsingborg, Sweden. Although the Silverlight application is customized for a particular site, forMicro AB (an ongoing project at Incordia), the template and the classes that are used to manage information, are developed so that they can be used in future projects for Incordia AB..

För att en uppfinning ska anses vara patenterbar uppställer artikel 52(1) EPC fyra rekvisit. Det ska vara en uppfinning som är ny, har uppfinningshöjd och är industriellt tillämpbar. Uppfinningsrekvisitet finns inte definierat i EPC utan har utvecklats genom praxis. För att en uppfinning ska anses vara en patenterbar uppfinning ska den ha teknisk karaktär. Vad som utgör teknisk karaktär har även det utvecklats genom praxis.

Transportation constitutes a large part of the forest industry's raw material costs. Transport also contributes a significant proportion of the carbon dioxide emissions. In order to reduce both the cost and environmental impact different types of decision support are required. These, in turn, require extensive information about the road network and correct information on road path selection and transport distances. In the development of national road data base for forestry (SNVDB) a road selection application has been included.

Nethouse Sverige AB is an IT consultancy in need of a mobile solution to inform participants of in-house events and distribute news to their consultants working in the field. This report  describes the planning and development of such a solution. The result of this thesis is a three system-solution. A mobile application where it is possible to view news and information about in-house events, and also receive suitable notifications, a web service which assists the mobile application by providing the corresponding information and finally a website to manage the information and notify mobile clients..

This report is the final result of the master thesis that have been done at  Sharpman Engineering. Sharpman Engineering is a small development and manufacturing company that produces and make drawings for everything from heavy duty log raft to aids for disabled people. The purpose have been to make one concept that make it easy for elderly and people having problem with knee- and back problem to stand up from a sitting position. The final result will the company have for further investigations and use for a pre-serial production with the goal to produce a new working product.To get an overview of what is on the market have a comprehensive survey has been done, followed by a survey on patent. This patent survey are for no intrusion on existing patents should occur and give new ideas.

Systemintegration är ett omfattande ämne som innehåller en uppsjö av begrepp och teorier, Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) är den avgränsning som genomförts inom detta område och fokuserar på en mer praktisk synvinkel av systemintegration. Vidare har det även avgränsats till en designers syn på EAI. Med dessa avgränsningar har en induktiv studie genomförts av tre framstående organisationer som är verksamma inom systemintegration. Genom att genomföra intervjuer med personer som dagligen arbetar med EAI identifierades 17 faktorer. Dessa faktorer analyserades och jämfördes med befintlig teori inom området för ERP och EAI.

While the technological infrastructure that enables collaboration between municipalities, counties and private health care providers improves, so does the need for health-care providers to gain access to the right patient journal at the right time. For doctors, nurses and other health-care organization employees this goal is achieved by NPÖ, National Patient Summary. NPÖ effectively enables health-care records to be shared across organizational boundaries. This thesis is based on a demand by a mobile application that can give district nurses access to health-care records wherever they are.This thesis describes the development of a prototype of a mobile application aimed for NPÖ. This includes investigating a suitable mobile platform, investigating available card readers for reading electronic identification from SITHS cards and the ability to connect to external services such as NPÖ.

Bakgrunden till denna undersökning är den växande ASP-marknaden samt säkerhetsproblematiken som finns i en ASP-lösning.Syftet är att utreda de säkerhetsaspekter som bör beaktas vid en Application Service Provider (ASP)-lösning. Olika aspekter har samlats in dels från litteraturen och dels med hjälp av intervjuer. En uppdelning har gjorts med avseende på mål, hot och kontroll. De mål som först och främst behandlas är de som berör integritet, konfidentialitet och tillgänglighet. De hot som tas upp och som delvis är specifika för en ASP-lösning är ASP-företagets ekonomi och personal samt kommunikationskanalen mellan ASP-företag och ASP-kund.

This study investigates the main question ?How can the small, blue spring bulb genera Chionodoxa, Puschkinia and Scilla be used in Swedish outdoor settings, with main focus on the genus Scilla?? This is done by answering four sub-questions: Which of these Scilla-species are hardy in Sweden? Which are their characteristics and habitats? What does their history of application look like? What is commercially available today? The aim of the work has been to make a survey of hardy and available Scilla-species, their character-istics, field of application and history. The purpose is to create a tool in the work with geophytes in different outdoor settings in Sweden, and to contribute to the discussion of new fields of application for bulb plants, such as Chionodoxa, Puschkinia and Scilla. The questions are answered through literature studies and discus-sions with knowledgeable persons in the field. First, an investigation and a survey of Scilla-species hardy and commercially available in Sweden, will be presented, where information of appearance, charac-teristics, habitats, varieties and historical and present application of the species will be found. With this background, a discussion around all the questions, today?s use and also new fields of application, has been carried through. The conclusions made from this study, are that there are today 15 Scilla-species commercially available and hardy for the Swedish climate.

Brysselkonventionen, Luganokonventionen och Bryssel-I-förordningen syftar till att skapa ett ömsesidigt erkännande av undertecknande länders domstolar och domar i civila och kommersiella mål, för att därigenom effektivisera domstolsprocesserna, öka rättssäkerheten och förenkla den europeiska processföringen över medlemsstaternas gränser. Således är det idag möjligt för en svensk medborgare att, under vissa omständigheter, starta en process mot en tysk medborgare, i exempelvis Italien.Medlemsländernas domstolsförfarande kan dock skilja sig avsevärt från varandra, inte minst när det kommer till tiden det tar för en process att handläggas. Italien och Belgien har utpekats som två länder där handläggningstiden är avsevärt mycket längre än i andra medlemsländer. Den långa handläggningstiden kan tillsammans med reglerna om litispendens missbrukas för att bromsa upp alternativt förhindra att en sanktion meddelas. Problemet har speciellt uppmärksammats på det patenträttsliga området.Torpedstrategin, som den kallas, syftar till att förhindra alternativt fördröja patenthavarens möjligheter att föra process mot intrångsmakaren.

There exists a great need among companies and other organizations to be able to visualize statistics. It?s also increasingly common to ask for web-based solutions for increased flexibility and accessibility for users. This paper describes how large amounts of geovisual data, for a large number of regions, can be visualized in an interactive and well-presented manner. The paper let?s you walk through two application scenarios, developed in a Flash environment, using the GeoViz component library for visualization. The first application has been developed for Statistics Sweden (SCB), to give a solution on how to visualize statistics for Sweden?s zip code regions.

Efter nästan 50 års förhandlingar beslutade rådet år 2009 att införa ett enhetligt patentskydd inom EU. Överenskommelsen om ett fördjupat samarbete resulterade i Europaparlamentets och rådets förordning nr 1257/2012 (patentförordningen) och rådets förordning nr 1260/2012 (översättningsförordningen) samt beslutet om att inrätta en gemensam patentdomstol för att kunna skapa en enhetlig praxis för den europeiska patenträtten.I uppsatsen utreds hur ett mindre företag kommer att påverkas av införandet av EUpatentet. Inledningsvis ges en introduktion till patenträtten och dess utveckling. Vidare beskrivs de olika tillvägagångssätten som finns för patentansökningar inom Europa samt de kostnader som förknippas med dessa. I uppsatsen granskas även det enhetliga patentsystemet och dess innebörd, frågan om översättningar och införandet av den enhetliga patentdomstolen.

When developing software that is meant to be distributed over several different computers and several different networks while still working together against a common goal there is a challenge in testing how updates within a single component will affect the system as a whole. Even if the performance of that specific component increases that is no guarantee for the increased performance of the entire system. Traditional methods of testing software becomes both hard and tedious when several different machines has to be involved for a single test and all of those machines has to be synchronized as well.This thesis has resulted in an exemplary application suite for testing distributed software. The thesis describes the method used for implementation as well as a description of the actual application suite that was developed. During the development several important factors and improvements for such a system was identified, which are described at the end of the thesis even though some of them never made it into the actual implementation.
