There are records of lowering of the water level in a lot of the Swedish lakes from the middleof the 1700th century. The aim was gaining more areable land to meet the needs of more foodto support the expanding population. In areas with top soil which contents of clay or loam asin the southwest of Scania in southern Sweden this was proven to be a successful wayexpanding the total outcome of the harvest.The studied area in the northeast of Scania, though, consists of morain with a lot of mires -much less nutritious conditions. When the water level is lowered the atmosphere gets accessto the peat. The dissolving of the organic matter that has been suppressed by the lack ofoxygene below water level continues.

Scania använder sig av Spectra och Enovia för att strukturera och lagra dagens konstruktionsdata. På senare år har digital provmontering införts i chassiproduktion som ett komplement till den fysiska provmonteringen.

Rural development in Southeast Sweden- three different views and their consequences for the agrarian landscapeThis paper deals with the future for the rural areas of the southeast province of Östergötland, Sweden. The aim is to unveil, analyse and compare different views on rural development and their consequences for the agrarian landscape. Three views are considered, namely that of the different levels of Governments and their departments, that of the farmers and landowners and, finaly, that of the inhabitants of the rural areas.Differences in the views upon rural development is reflected in differences in the ways of thinking of landscapes. Is the open, and actively cultivated, landscape the ideal for all? Who is to decide what needs or ought to be done to achieve certain desired values and/or goals ? and who pays for it? The one thing that is, and should be, clear from the beginning is that all development, whether positive or negative in an area, bears consequences for the landscape.

Research question: How does the industrial company Scania work to get more women in leadership positions?Purpose: The purpose of this work is to describe how companies in a male-dominated industry can work to get a higher share of female leaders.Method: This survey was based on a deductive approach with a qualitative method. Theories have been obtained primarily from scientific articles and the empirical part has been collected through interviews from the companies Wiminvest and Scania.Conclusion: The conclusions the study came up with was different elements that companies in male-dominated industries can work with to get a higher share of female leaders. The first thing that companies can do is to join the project BON or similar projects to work on this issue. They can work with workshops and lectures to disseminate knowledge about the topic.

Det ständigt ökande trycket på minskande utsläpp och effektivare energianvändning driver utvecklingen av Scanias produkter. För att varakonkurrenskraftiga på marknaden behöver man leverera lastbilar med högre kvalitet och lägre bränsleförbrukning, det vill säga sänka transportkostnaderna förkunden. Ett steg i detta är att utveckla komponenter i fordonet som är optimerade iförsta hand med avseende på hållfasthet men även mot vikt och pris. En betydande andel av lastbilens komponenter är plåtfästen som ofta underprioriteras i produktutvecklingen. Examensarbetet fokuserade därför på att utveckla metoder för konstruktion av plåtfästen.En metod för att förbättra konstruktionerna är att arbeta med simuleringsdriven konstruktion.

Within literature, politics and science, there is a claim that ?tree avenues are important?. But the question and the goal for this essay are to explore the pretext to how and why. Planting tree avenues is a 4000 year old tradition and they are a common element in the Swedish and Scanian landscape since the 18th century. They were first mainly planted by aristocratic land-owners or on their initiative, but since the 19th century also by farmers.

Background: Today small business firms represent a considerable part of swedish economy, and the number of small firms has steadily increased the last ten years in relation to the total employment. The fact that there are firms willing to grow, it ought to be interesting observing their motives of growth, and what kind of strategies that can be identifiable in these firms. Purpose: To examine the motives of growth in small business firms, and to study which growth strategies the firms use when expanding their business. Realization: The study is accomplished through telephone interviews with six small business firms in the province of Jönköping. The firms contain between 10-49 employees.

Syftet med examensarbetet är att ta fram en modell för torsionssvängningar i systemet vevaxel, motortransmission och kamaxeln på SCANIA's 12 liters dieselmotor DC1201. Det höga gastrycket och injektortrycket på SCANIA's dieselmotorer ger upphov till stora moment på både vevaxeln och kamaxeln. Dessa moment varierar kraftigt med tiden och skapar torsionssvängningar hos de båda axlarna samt hos motortransmissionen. Modellen som presenteras är linjär och av frekvens respons typ, den beskriver förloppet i fortvarighet. Axlarna och transmissionen är diskretiserade med totalt 37 frihetsgrader.

The paper focus on the first people in south-east Sweden. I investigate why they moved to the north, how they adapted to a new environment, and how they used new materials. I study ten locations in my investigation, which starts with Årup in north-east Scania, and ends with Mörby in Östergöland. The survey deals with the research history concerning the Mesolithic Stone Age in southern Scandinavia, and why ethnicity, adaptability, imagination and the will of survive is so important to us human beings..

Under första halvåret av 2001 ombolagiserades dockDynaMate AB för att kunna erbjuda produktionsstöd även till andra kunder. Under 2009 bildades såDynaMate Industrial Services AB (DIS), där detta företag idag erbjuder specialkompetens inomautomation, el och mekanik. Med stöd av företagets kompetenser och erfarenhet av produktionsstödlöser de kundens problem från idé till färdig maskin.I Scanias regi har DynaMates uppdrag oftast vilat på enskilda konstruktörer, som då agerat bådeprojektledare, genomförare och slutförare.

Rapporten beskriver arbetsprocessen vid skapandet av animationer som visualiserar flödet i ett avancerat bränslesystem. Arbetet är utfört på uppdrag av Scania Academy. Den frågeställning som arbetet utgått ifrån är:Hur skapar man en visualisering av ett flöde i ett avancerat bränslesystem som är informativt och anpassat för målgruppen?Bakgrunden till arbetet är att Scania tagit fram ett nytt bränslesystem som de är i behov av att hålla utbildning kring. Som stöd till utbildningen vill man med hjälp av animation förklara bränslets flöde.

Då många företag vill skaffa sig marknadsandelar genom att leverera rätt produkt, vid rätt tid och för rätt kostnad har de börjat arbeta med Simuleringsdriven Konstruktion. Simuleringsdriven Konstruktion hjälper dem att genom ett iterativt arbetssätt hitta optimal konstruktion tidigt i NPD-processen och därigenom reducera tid och kostnad för produktutvecklingen.Många företag som sysslar med forskning och utveckling kräver idag mer av provutrustning än tidigare för att kunna kontrollera och möta ökande krav på produkter.  Mer sofistikerad provutrustning behöver utvecklas för att möta ökade krav på produktprov. Krav så som säkerhet, kapacitet, tidseffektivitet, noggrannhet etc. Att även tid och kostnad för utveckling av provutrustning reduceras är viktigt.Detta examensarbete har syftat till att ta fram riktlinjer för effektivisering av arbetet med Simuleringsdriven Konstruktion i utvecklingsprocesser.

Leanproduction börjar i allt större utsträckning appliceras inom olika verksamheter. Filosofins fokus på kundvärde samt dess skapade av effektiva och felförebyggande processer lockar mängder av aktörer inom olika sektorer av marknaden. Då kundvärde bör vara fokus för samtliga verksamheter och effektiva, kvalitetssäkra processer är något att eftersträva bör filosofin lämpa sig inom fler områden än just produktion. Tjänsteverksamhet är ett marknadssegment där kundvärde är särskilt viktigt. Då målet med tjänsteverksamhet vanligen är att skapa en bra service och på så sätt addera kundvärde bör leankonceptet framgångsrikt kunna appliceras inom verksamheten.

The product structure of the fuel tank installation is one of the most complex product areas at Scania. Caused by the number of parameters, which affect the fuel tank installation, a product structure is created which is very difficult to handle. Knowledge exist that the structure in a nearby future will be considerable more complex. The purpose of the study has been to understand in why this complexity exist and find ways to break the trend of a growing product structure. The goal was to achieve a more standardized fuel tank installation.A theoretical study was performed in order to bring knowledge in relevant areas both in general theory but also in documentation at Scania.
