Vetenskaplig kommunikation genom open access. Forskares attityder till open access-publicering inom odontologisk forskning
Open access has played a significant part in the development of scholarlycommunication. Today, several research funding agencies around the worldrequires that the results of the research it supports must be published openaccess where the underlying idea is that publicly funded research should befree and available to all users. The purpose of this thesis is to discuss the issueof open access publishing from the perspective of researchers in the field ofodontology, focused on their attitudes, behaviors and publishing experienceswith open access. Through a qualitative interview study with fiveodontological researchers, the results have been compared to previous studieson researchers' attitudes and experiences with open access. The results showthat both knowledge and experience with open access publishing is fairly lowamong the participating scientists.
"På egen hand skulle det nog inte ha gått" : Några deltagares upplevelse av arbetskonsulentens stöd i metoden Supported employment
Delaktigheten på den öppna arbetsmarknaden är låg för personer med psykisk funktionsnedsättning. Metoden Supported employment (SE) har visat sig vara framgångsrik i att hjälpa denna målgrupp att nå, få och behålla ett arbete på den reguljära arbetsmarknaden. Fokus har i forskning riktats mot metodens effektivitet men denna studie inriktar sig på arbetskonsulentens stöd inom SE och syftet i studien är att utforska vad dennes stöd betyder för deltagaren i metoden. Kvalitativa intervjuer har genomförts med tre deltagare och en gruppintervju med tre arbetskonsulenter. Det skräddarsydda, det instrumentella och det emotionella stödet samverkar och leder till empowerment för två deltagare, som har nått en praktikplats där de trivs och kommer till sin rätt.

The aim of this thesis is to better understand branding work in government agencies. What can systematic branding work result in, in a government agency, besides a strong brand in itself? Can it contribute to the democratic mission that government agencies have?Based on background information on government agencies, their mission in terms of communication, their particular characteristics in relation to the private sector; brands and how they are developed; as well as theories in organizational communication, and research on the possibilities and risks of branding work in the public sector, a qualitative case study on the Swedish Patent and Registration Office (PRV) was carried out.The case study consists of a study of PRV?s brand platform, their website as well as an interview with the person responsible for developing the platform. The information gathered during the case study indicates that PRV?s brand work seems to have resulted in a number of positive outcomes.
Vara eller icke vara : Studie- och yrkesvägledningsverksamhet, ur ett elev och professionsperspektiv
Studie- och yrkesvägledningenhar de senaste åren varit utsatt för politisk debatt. Många experter, forskare och politiker har uttalat kritik kring verksamheten, framförallt för att granskningar visat att engagemanget kring området varit bristfälligt på skolorna. Utredningar har gjorts, projektarbeten har satts igång och rekommendationer har getts ut, allt för att öka måluppfyllelsen enligt områdets styrdokument. Syftet med studien är att granska problematiken från skolans eget perspektiv, genom att dokumentera röster från skolans insida. Elever, lärare och studie- och yrkesvägledare har genom enkäter fått uttala sig om sina personliga erfarenheter, uppfattningar och preferenser angående verksamhetsområdet.

A new type of chartered holiday, fitness holiday, has evolved during the last years and has also been mentioned in different media channels. Despite this, fitness holiday is a relatively new and unexplored phenomenon, which caught our interest to further explore this. The desire to travel on a holiday of this type has also increased. Therefore, a study about this particular phenomenon with focus on the traveler?s motives behind the choice to go has been done.It?s a qualitative study and most part of the data has been collected during a field study to Playitas Resort, Canary Islands.
De kan, de vill, de vet - Barns tankar om utbildning, yrken och framtid
Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka skolbarns tankar kring framtid, utbildning och yrken. Följande frågeställningar har formulerats: vilken beredskap har barn att diskutera frågor om utbildning, framtid och yrken? Vad är det som gör att barn tänker som de gör kring utbildning, framtid och yrken? Jag har använt mig av kvalitativ metod och genomfört sex intervjuer med elever på en F-6 skola och tre intervjuer med lärare. Tidigare forskning visar att det inom detta område finns sparsamt med undersökningar och att det även är svårt att hitta karriärteorier som specifikt handlar om hur barn resonerar och utvecklas. För att analysera det empiriska materialet har Supers teori om life span, life space, Gottfredsons teori om begränsningar och kompromisser och Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT) använts.
Tolfternas samkväm : folkbildning och bibliotek för arbetarkvinnor 1902-1907
Tolfterna was a popular education organization that existed between 1896 and1964 and that arranged social evenings and set up a library for working women. This thesis purpose is to investigate Tolfternas's activities in 1902-1907 and hereby place Tolfterna in the education- and library history. The thesis examines the library catalog and the protocols from the social evenings and analyses them by means of the popular education ideologies of the early 1900's: Patriarchal education, civic education, self-education and the domestic/housewife ideal.The analysis shows that the organizers of Tolfterna as well as the working women who visited the social evenings had political and social interests. This places Tolfterna in a civic education context.The social evenings contained a mix of politically orientated discussions, traditional lectures and entertainment as music and reading. The library had self-education orientation, it contained mostly fiction and was run by the working women.

Denna studie behandlar hur studie- och yrkesvägledare, som arbetar på flera skolor samtidigt,
upplever sin yrkesroll. Detta studeras genom att titta på vägledarens upplevelse om krav,
resurser, förväntningar och stöd. Genom dessa faktorer får läsaren en klarare bild över hur
studie- och yrkesvägledare upplever sin arbetssituation. Den kvalitativa studien har genomförts på så sätt att sex studie- och yrkesvägledare, som arbetar inom grund- och gymnasieskolan,
intervjuats. Vi har utgått från Krav-kontroll modellen för att undersöka hur faktorerna påverkar
den upplevda arbetstillfredsställelsen.

This essay will deal with how media?s picture perception of Ludmila Engqvist has changed by analysing articles from the Swedish newspapers Aftonbladet and Expressen from 1996 to 2001. Why and how the media?s picture has changed will be analysed through the perspectives of Ludmila Engqvist being an elite athlete, immigrant and woman.

This study examines university employees? perception of their employment situation and career opportunities. By tradition, fixed term contracts are used in the Swedish research community due to dependency on insecure funding. There is a current debate that questions this use of insecure employments. The employments are said to negatively affect the university?s societal role and international competitiveness.
Den nya bibliotekariens kompetens : en studie av bibliotekarier utbildade i Borås, Lund och Umeå
The main purpose of this Master's thesis is to investigate the new librarians' experiences and skills in the context of their present work situation and the ongoing debate about the librarian's professional identity and status. Further, the authors wanted to find out whether the new librarians' experiences and knowledge developed throughout their education correspond to the requirements of the employers. Finally, they try to assess theimpact of the "academization" of the library schools on the status of the profession. The data consist of an opinion poll. The investigation is based on questionnaires distributed as a web survey.

Examensarbete belyser om det är möjligt att kategorisera studie- och yrkesvägledares upplevda arbetssituation i KASAM. För att kunna kategorisera utifrån KASAM vill vi veta hur studie- och yrkesvägledare upplever sin arbetssituation och hur deras kompetens tillvaratas inom deras arbetsorganisation. Dessutom har vi valt att ställa frågor om hur arbetsgivaren ser på deras profession och vilka möjligheter de har till kompetensutveckling.
Examensarbetet är en kvalitativ studie med sex olika studie- och yrkesvägledare yrkesverksamma inom statlig, kommunal och privat arbetsorganisation i västra Sverige. Vi kontaktade studie- och yrkesvägledare för att höra om det fanns intresse att delta i en intervju.
Kinematisk och dynamisk modellering av den haptiska enheten TAU i sex frihetsgrader
The thesis presents an optimally designed kinematic structure for a new 6-DOF haptic devicebased on TAU configuration. The configuration of the TAU-2 proposed by Suleman Khan andKjell Andersson [1] was modified and its mobility was verified by using Grübler criterion tohave a 6 DOF. Analytical kinematic models for the inverse and forward kinematics weredeveloped for the haptic TAU configuration to determine a set of optimal design parameters.Kinematic performance indices such as volume of the workspace, kinematic isotropy and payload index, were defined based on the singular values of the Jacobian matrix. The Jacobianmatrix was scaled to homogenize the physical units. The Jacobian matrix dependent on theposition and orientation of the end-effector gives local isotropy and pay load index, so globaldesign indices were defined, which represent the performance of the mechanism in the wholeworkspace.
Kvinnliga nätverk - ett sätt att göra skillnad? : En fallstudie på nätverket Q80 och dess mentor program
Sweden is known to be one of the world?s most equal countries. Nevertheless, out of Sweden?s 262 listed companies, only seven of them has a female president, which is equal to 3,4 percent. To counteract these numbers there are several possibilities. One arrangement that is highly controversial is affirmative actions. But there are other options, for instance more and more female networks are starting to rise and many of them also offers a mentoring program where the mentee gets the opportunity to learn from someone with more experience.The purpose of this study is to examine what difference the female network Q80, with focus on its mentoring program, is doing for the mentee. As an underlying purpose the study is also examining what visions and attitudes the management and the mentors is communicating within Q80. The focus is mainly on the visions of Q80, menas mentors and business exceeding mentorship. A survey has been carried out among mentees from three different seats of mentoring programs where they have answered 19 different questions regarding their time as a mentee. Furthermore interviews have taken place with the management of Q80 and two mentors. The results are analyzed based on theories about gender, women in management, leadership, mentoring program and organizational structure. The result shows that Q80i as a source of inspiration and a support for the category of "career women" with its core mission to strengthen the participation of individuals on a personal level more than to work to even out the gap in the Swedish labor market.
Bedömning av anställda i professionella tjänsteföretag - ett kritiskt perspektiv
Human capital is professional service firms' most valuable resource and its quality is closely linked to the quality of its services. The purpose of this study is to investigate how professional service firms appraise their employees. A comparative study between an architecture firm and a management consulting firm is conducted with the aim to identify and explain similarities and differences in performance appraisal. Two qualitative case studies are performed and interviews as well as documents are used to explore the area. The thesis builds on a critical perspective and it has an explorative approach.
