Skriftbruket hos två elever på yrkesförberedande program: En skriftetnografisk undersökning

This essay elucidates upper secondary students? literacy practices, (literacy events, literacy competencies and literacy culture) during a typical day, with focus on the daily literacy practices. A literacy ethnographic study conducted in the environment which participants naturally are, at home, at school and in leisure. The study is inspired of a project, Skriftbruk i arbetslivet, ´Literacy Practices in Working Life´, that conducted by Anna-Malin Karlsson, Per Ledin and Olle Josephson, in collaboration with Vetenskapsrådet ´Science Council´(2002-2004).The result of this study shows that students from professional preparing programs not use such literacy competencies that been tested in traditionally reading comprehension test, particularly much. However, do they read a lot during the literacy practices day by television, computer and mobile phone.

Utprövning av Fem Till Femton-formulärets småbarnsversion för utredning av barns utveckling och beteende i åldrarna 25?40 månader

The main purpose was to develop norms for the Five to fifteen questionnaire ? toddlers? version (FTF-S) in children aged 25?40 months. Apartial aim was to validate the language domain of the FTF-S against the linguistic scale in the test Bayley Scales of Infant Development ? thirdedition (Bayley-III). Another partial aim was to analyze parents' experiences of the FTF-S in order to provide suggestions for further development.

Kultur som utvecklingsstrategi : En fallstudie av kultursatsningen inom Bodens kommun

Thee purpose of this study was to examine what helps in counseling against women victims of domestic violence, and how to identify empowerment in their experiences? It is a qualitative study using semi-structured interviews where the collected material is based on five interviews. The group we studied is victims of domestic violence who had taken part of counseling. The interviews were based on an interview guide that sought answers to women´s experience of counseling. The interviews were analyzed with the help of theories of support, domestic violence and empowerment.

Progression i argumentation : En undersökning av skriftlig argumentation i årskurs 7

I denna undersökning granskas 31 texter skrivna av elever i årskurs 7 höstterminen 2011. Samtliga texter är skrivna efter samma på förhand fastställda uppgift. Metodmässigt har texterna granskats genom en närläsning strukturerad av ett analysschema.  Undersökningen syftar till att besvara följande frågeställningar:- Vilka är de texttypsmässiga styrkorna och svagheterna i elevtexterna?- Hur ser samspelet ut mellan berättandet och argumenterandet i elevtexterna?- Vilka typer av kunskaper i argumentation visar sig i elevtexterna?Sammanfattningsvis visar studien att eleverna kan föra fram en tes och argument som stödjer tesen. Dock finns det utrymme för förbättring vad det gäller skapandet av disposition.

Lyckat ledarskap  - Den anställdes syn på chefskapet kopplat till butikens välgång

I denna studie har en enkätstudie på Hemköpsbutiker mynnat ut i ett svar kring hur de anställda ser på sin butikschef och om denna uppfattning kan kopplas till hur pass väl butiken presterar rent ekonomiskt, i termer av bruttovinst och finansnetto. I denna studie är det butikschefer inom Hemköpskedjan som studeras. Unikt för denna studie är att den utgår ifrån de anställdas uppfattning, istället för som i många tidigare studier där forskaren fungerade som observatör och iakttog den chef som skulle studeras. Utgångspunkten och hur definitionen av en ledare skall göras grundar sig i denna studie på Gary Yukls ledarskapsteorier kring faktorer som han kallar trait och skills.  De resultat som redovisas är till största del att flera av de egenskaper och kunskaper som en god ledare ska uppvisa både efterfrågas av de anställda i båda butikerna samt att de även anser att respektive butikschef faktiskt uppvisar någorlunda liknande egenskaper och kunskaper i båda butikerna. Det skiljer sig markant i uppfattningen mellan de anställda på respektive butik i få av de definierade egenskaperna och kunskaperna..

Musikklass - som del av en livsberättelse

My interest in examining what happens when you as a teenager are exposed to five or six times the amount of time as ordinary classes to music education derrives from my own experience as a music teacher at a school which has those kind of special music classes. During my career as a music teacher in grades 4 ? 9 in Swedish compulsory school I have taught music classes as well as ordinary classes for 18 years. During this time I have often wondered what this exposure means in retrospect. Is it the conquering and mastering of music skills that students remember when they?ve grown up to young adults, or is it something else?The aim of this study is to find out what it means for teenagers to have music as a school subject every day of their years in Swedish high school.

Inte homofob, men... : Socialarbetares attityder till homo- och bisexuella personer

The purpose of this study is to identify and make attitudes among social workers towards homosexual and bisexual people visible, examine how these attitudes relate to their actions in their professional role and how these attitudes and actions can be understood by theories of heteronormativity and power. The study is a cross-sectional quantitative survey in the form of a questionnaire completed by social workers. The result shows that there are two groups among the social workers. One larger group that reproduces a norm of acceptance toward homosexual and bisexual people and one smaller that reproduces a heterosexual norm. This reproduction of heteronormativity increases the risk for homosexual and bisexual people to be made invisible and treated more negatively in contact with social workers, which in turn can lead to worse health among the clients..

Med sinne för detaljer : En domänanalytisk studie av ämnet Textilvetenskap vid Uppsala universitet med fokus på föremålsdokumentation

The aim of this two year master thesis is to study the knowledge production within the field of Textile Studies at Uppsala University, with special focus on the use of artifact documentation as a research method. With domain analysis as a theoretical framework, ontological and epistemological assumptions as well as historical and social aspects are studied in relation to the research process. Qualitative research methods are used, including interviews, observations and text analysis. In the analysis of the knowledge processes in the field, perspectives on tacit knowledge and the concept of documents, are used as a theoretical basis. In the field of Textile Studies, the artifacts are used as one of the main objects of study, along with archival and pictorial sources. The main epistemological assumptions are that artifact analysis is dependent on a knowledge base, where technical handicraft skills, contextual knowledge and practical experience of object observation are the most important qualifications.

Social mediestrategi - En studie om medarbetarens roll vid agerande i sociala medier

Purpose: The purpose of the essay is; to explain and clarify how the company is acting to lead members in social media to achieve valuable external communication. The authors believe that it is important to act with credibility and quality in social media, to accomplish long lasting relationships. When employees communicate with consumers their conduct is relevant to the company's credibility.Methodology: An inductive approach has been used for the empirical data collection since the authors have been studying the reality without existing theories. A qualitative research method has been used for collecting the empirical material. Primary data was collected from telephone interviews with seven companies, active in social media.Conclusions: The study shows that the power of employees? can be used when designing strategies for social media.

Familjehemsföräldrars erfarenheter av Paired Reading med placerade barn : Lästräning utifrån nytta och nöje

The academic underachievement of looked after children is well known. By involving foster carers in a Paired Reading intervention a Swedish project tried to address this issue, replicating a successful British trial. The aim of my thesis was to study the variations in the foster carers? experiences of this literacy intervention. Reading reports from 100 children were collected and qualitative interviews with 15 foster parents were analyzed using concepts from motivational psychology.

Låt det förflutna tillhöra det förflutna : En studie om datorspel, socialt välbefinnande och kunskapsmässig utveckling

This study investigates the effects that commercial computer games have on young individuals social comfort and learning progress. As a systematic study of literature, scholarly articles have been analysed in order to illuminate the positive as well as negative effects on social comfort and learning progress that may come with playing computer games. The social effects have mainly been discussed with role-playing games, such as World of Warcraft, as starting point, while the learning effects have been coupled with strategy games, such as Civilization IV. The study does not simply declare how these games can be good for these factors, but also in what respect computer games may prevent the development of young individuals socials skills and learning progress. The study showed that in spite of perpetual prejudices against computer games in the technological age, computer games might actually be good to use as a tool in order to authorize the development of young individuals regarding learning and social aspects.

Informationskompetens i skolan : En kvalitativ undersökning om hur lärare arbetar med informationskompetens i skolans lägre årskurser och vilken roll skolbiblioteket spelar i den processen.

The aim of this Bachelor thesis is to examine and understand how teachers of younger children teach information literacy and also what part the school library and the school librarian take in this process.I have, in the study, used parts of Limberg & Folkesson´s IDOL project as my theoretical framework and the material was collected through qualitative interviews with four teachers. My result of this study indicates that many teachers have a vague idea of what information literacy is. My study also indicates that teachers only teach information literacy occasionally. This despite the new curriculum (Lgr11) which clearly indicates that information literacy is a priority. Some of the teachers express an opinion that the students, for example; in their source critical ability, develop this skill with age.

Varför just nu? : En kvalitativ studie av ett hälsoprojekt

Vårt syfte med denna studie har varit att beskriva de individuella och organisatoriskaomständigheter som skapade förutsättningar för genomförandet av hälsoprojektet. Vi hardärmed sökt svar på vilka möjligheter informanterna upplevde fanns för att tillämpa sig av denya kunskaper som förvärvats under projektet. Studien genomfördes inom Norrköpingskommun och populationen utgjordes av sex enhetschefer. För att nå den förståelse och detdjup vi eftersökt valde vi att använda oss av kvalitativ metod. Datainsamling genomfördes iform av semi- strukturerade intervjuer, dessa analyserades sedan och ställdes mot de teoriersom vi utifrån litteratur och tidigare forskning valt ut som mest lämpade för denna studie.Resultatet visar på att informanterna var motiverade till att genomföra hälsoprojektet men attden rådande situationen ledde till att utfallet av projektet inte blev som förväntat.

Att skapa allianser och förståelse. En studie om olika professioners arbete med tonåringar som har ADHD.

The aim of this study was to investigate how various professions within the treatment of ADHD is working with the diagnosis and the importance of the diagnosis has been at work. We also want to investigate what the different professions think of the diagnosis, what it has for opportunities or limitations in treatment. The chosen professions are two nurses, two treatment assistants, a psychologist and a psychotherapist. When we interviewed our chosen professions, we have used a qualitative approach with semistructured interviews. Through our interviews we got the opportunity to take part in the various professions' knowledge and experience of working with teenagers who have ADHD.

Man packar ihop sin väska och där står hon och har lämnat ut hela sitt liv : En studie av professionella aktörers syn på våldsutsatta kvinnors upplevelser av rättsprocessen och deras möjligheter till samhälleligt stöd

The study aims to illustrate how women victims of male violence in intimate relationships are treated during the legal process and with professional perspective describe what women?s experiences considered to be in the legal process. The study also aims to draw attention to the interventions for abused women during the legal process.The results are based on interviews with professionals in the justice system, and on observations in the courtroom. Overall our results show that abused women are in need of a great quantity of help and support before, during and after the negotiation. The legal process is very stressful for the women.
