The aim of this essay was to investigate what images are conveyed through Swedish daily press and to discuss the possible consequences of these images for librarians and users of the library. What discourses can be identified in the material; how are librarians and their profession described in the press; what attitude can be detected towards librarians and in what contexts are librarians discussed, are questions that were asked. Discourse analysis was used as theory and method. A discourse can be understood as a certain way of talking about and understanding the world. 55 articles from the period of January 1^st 2002 to March 7^th 2003 were analysed with the help of a model.

In 2007 the Prevention Unit at Södermalm in Stockholm started a group activity for parents and children. The group activity?s intention is to offer families support in their early interaction. This study is a part of providing knowledge about this intervention. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the stories which are produced by five participants in a support group for parents and children.

Bakgrund: Kronisk obstruktiv lungsjukdom (KOL) är en folksjukdom, som påverkar kroppen både fysiskt och emotionellt. Enligt världshälsoorganisationen beräknas sjukdomen öka och bli den tredje största dödsorsaken år 2030. Syfte: Syftet med litteraturstudien var att belysa patienters upplevelser av att leva med KOL genom frågeställningen; hur upplevs det emotionellt av att leva med KOL. Metod: En litteraturstudie bestående av tio kvalitativa artiklar genom databassökning i CINAHL, Medline och PubMed. Resultat: Det framkom en rad olika känslor i relation till olika upplevelser. Fyra huvudkategorier identifierades till: upplevelser av fysiska begränsningar, upplevelser av att leva med syrgas, upplevelser av minskad självständighet och betydelsen av sociala relationer.

A vivid democracy requires participation from those who live in it, including children. Unlike adults, children have special laws and regulations to ensure them their democratic rights. Librarians? decision on what to buy makes an impact to someone else, which puts the librarian in a hegemonic position. Therefore, the purpose of this bachelor thesis is to, out of the child librarian?s perspective, view children?s participation at the public library in the matter of purchasing literature.

The drug treatment staff attitude towards needle exchange is what investigates in this study. The aim of this study is to see what?s affecting the standpoints in the needle exchange issue and also to investigate if the needle exchange is compatible with Swedish drug policy. The study has a qualitative approach and it?s based on eight semi-structured interviews with drug treatment staff.

This quantitative survey aims to highlight the impact of the meeting with the grief for customer advisers and representatives of funeral homes connected to the SBF (Sveriges Begravningsbyråers förbund). It also aims to demonstrate any differences between the sexes on this subject. Issues include: How does the person experience expectations and requirements in relation to their professional role? Does the person experience a personal impact due to the encounter with grief and death in their profession, in what way and to what extent? What consequences does the expectations, reactions and the possible impact result in for that person? What conditions does the person have to help cope with the professional role? Is there a gender difference in this experience? The theory base, which consists of theories taken from The Managed Heart: The commercialization of Human Feeling by Arlie Hochschild (2003) and descriptions taken from Yrke: begravningsentreprenör. Om utanförskap, döda kroppar, riter och professionalisering by Anna Davidsson Bremborg (2002), has been fundamental in both the preparatory work and the analysis.

Denna undersökning utfördes på Halmstads kommuns hemvårdsförvaltning och fokuserade på hur olika yrkesgrupper arbetade genom samverkan med varandra. Vi fann av intresse att ta reda på hur sjuksköterskorna upplever att samverkan fungerar tillsammans med hemtjänstpersonalen och vilken påverkan den egna professionen och tillit har i samverkan.Syftet med undersökningen var att genom sjuksköterskornas berättelser skildra deras upplevelser av samverkan med övrig personal inom hemtjänsten. Med hjälp av organisatoriska teorier och centrala begrepp som profession, makt och tillit har vi analyserat och tolkat deras upplevelser och därmed skapat en förståelse av samverkan mellan hemsjukvården och hemtjänsten. Undersökningen genomfördes med en kvalitativ metod där data samlades in genom observationer och semistrukturerade personliga intervjuer med åtta kommunalt anställda sjuksköterskor. Resultatet visade att de kommunala sjuksköterskorna har en delad uppfattning kring samverkan och hur samverkan figurerar på olika nivåer.

Vår studie syftar till hur pedagoger samtalar om likabehandlingsplaner och vilka erfarenheter de har av likabehandlingsplaner i förskolan. Vi har studerat två förskolor i två olika områden i Malmö och undersökt eventuella skillnader och likheter. Vår studie har utgått ifrån en kvalita- tiv metod och vi kommer samla in det empiriska materialet genom intervjuer på dessa två förskolorna. Intervjuerna är semi-strukturerade, då vi agerat moderatorer och enbart ställt frågor och inte deltagit i intervjuerna med informanterna. Vi transkriberade det empiriska materialet som sedan blev grunden till vår analys och vårt resultat.

In the present study, the institutional discourse in health care was examined, focusing onspeech therapists and occupational therapists in interaction with a common patient withaphasia. The purpose of the present study was to identify common communication strategiesused in the professional conversation between a speech therapist and a patient and between anoccupational therapist and the same patient. Specific research questions were: Whatcommunicative strategies are used in interaction between a speech therapist and a patient withaphasia and between the occupational therapist and the same patient? Are theredifferences/similarities between how speech therapists and occupational therapists interactwith patients with aphasia?Six people in total, two patients in interaction with a speech therapist and an occupationaltherapist respectively, were recorded during treatment sessions of each profession. Generaland specific aspects of the institutional interaction were then analysed according to principlesof conversation analysis.Similarities in the use of closed questions as a strategy to increase the effectiveness ininteraction could be seen between the two different professions studied.

This is a project in Entrepreneurship and Creativity on masters? degree. The purpose was to verify whether the Swedish retail trade within the beauty care business was ready for an in-troduction of colour cosmetics. Through the qualitative research grounded theory, I made several phone interviews with independence retail traders within the Swedish beauty care business. The selection of respondents is based on statistical facts and geographic coverage of Swedish beauty care shops.

För att få träda in i denna profession som revisorsassistent, krävs att en individ bland annat genomgått universitetsutbildning inom företagsekonomiska ämnen. Men vad måste denna individ genomgå under sina första anställningsår för att växa in i professionen på bästa möjliga sätt? Tidigare forskning tyder på att nyanställda introduceras genom olika socialiseringsmetoder, som kan förklaras av en organisations struktur. Men på vilket sätt växer nyanställda revisorsassistenter in i revisorsprofessionen?    Syfte: Syftet är att skapa förståelse för hur revisorsassistenter socialiseras in i revisorsprofessionen, genom att tydliggöra samt förklara hur socialiseringsprocessen ser ut inom branschen.Metod: Studien har utgått ifrån en kombination av kvalitativ och kvantitativ forskningsmetod.

ABSTRACTThe aim of this study is to analyze the aspects which have formed music-students? interest to perform music in various ways. Two of these aspects are family and school. Furthermore, -the study analyzes what music itself, and its performance mean in these students? social and personal lives.

This paper?s objective is to investigate whether Modigliani and Miller (MM) I & II proposition from 1958 with regard to capital structure, is still valid among public Swedish firms.We have chosen the 63 firms on the Stockholm Stock Exchange (OMX) that Affärsvärlden magazine?s general index (AFGX) has categorized as industrial firms. We based this selection on the assumption that these firms are relatively capital intense and have a clear focus on production and, therefore, mainly uses capital structure as a mean to finance their production and not as a means in itself.To be able to fully evaluate these firms we have calculated the current key ratios based each firm?s annual report. To make the figures comparable across the entire population we adjusted them to each firm?s turnover.The results we have reached concur with MM?s proposition I regarding capital structures independence of the firm value.

The aim of this paper is to answer three questions about Chuck Palahniuks novel Fight Club. The three questions were chosen because they were widely debated after the release of David Fincher screenplay based on the same book. The questions are: Is the critique on consumerculture offered in Fight Club valid? What does Fight Club say about the relation between man and woman? Can the work be considered fascist? The critique against consumer culture is found valid and not a disguised complaint about the feminization of society. The main female character Marla is vital for Jack as a blueprint for Tyler.
