Sheep production is the only animal production in Sweden that is increasing. Therefore,increasing knowledge of the production is of great interest. In order to run a viable sheepproduction, producers needs to be successful in the breeding of the animals and achievean economic surplus in the end. Lambs that are born healthy and vital have greaterconditions to perform high lamb weight gains and thus a successful production. Thereare many factors affect the survival, birth weight and early weight gain of the new bornlamb.

Platser med höga globala respektive lokala integrationsvärden har, enligt Space syntax-teorin, visats bli välbesökta. Handelshamnen i Karlskrona är en plats som innehar dessa egenskaper. Ett nytt promenadstråk längs med kajen har därför potential att bli välbesökt samtidigt som det finns potential att skapa ett attraktivt bostadsområde på platsen. Examensarbetet ger förslag på en utformning av bostäder längs med Handelshamnen samt även hur de lokala- och globala korrrelationsvärdena på platsen kan höjas för att bidra till ett välbesökt promenadstråk. Detta utan att de bostadsmiljöerna drabbas av den förväntade ökade andelen gångtrafikanten längs med kajkanten..

Due to increasing product availability and higher demands on fast deliveries, the competition between companies is growing. To be able to satisfy the customers? requests an efficient logistics system with short throughput time is required. By using tools associated with Lean production companies are able to make great improvements in their manufacturing systems and reduce lead times to satisfy customer demands.There are two classifications associated with manufacturing, high variety and low volume (HVLV) and low volume and high variety (LVHV). The general belief is that the concept of Lean production is difficult to implement in a production environment with high variety and low volume due to the concept being adapted to mass production.

Det här är en text som är ett resultat av vårt examensarbete vi genomfört under den sjätte och sista terminen på scenproduktionsutbildningen på Malmö högskola. Texten och examensarbetet utgår ifrån frågeställningar som vi arbetat med under terminen i samband med att vi ljussatt två teaterföreställningar som satts upp av Teaterhögskolan i Malmös examinerande masterelever. Vi tar upp frågor och tankar om ljuset, scenrummet och ljussättarens roll i det kreativa teamet. Syftet med detta arbete har varit att utforska hur vi kan ta hjälp av ljus och ljusdesign i skapandet av scenrummet. Hur vi definierar de rum vi arbetat i och hur det är att vara en del en produktion.

ASSA AB har först infört verktygen 5S och standardiserat arbetssätt, vilket möjliggjort införandet av andra verktyg såsom kanban. Inget av detta hade dock varit möjligt med ett lyckat resultat om inte personalen först blivit utbildade och en leankultur skapats.

There is a common belief that the arts contain knowledge of creativity that can enrich the business world. Similarly, the arts are in need of additional support from the private sector and know-how of business practices. In short, there is a need for mutual understanding. With my background as a dancer paired with my studies at the Stockholm School of Economics I have taken the challenge of bringing the two worlds closer together. By changing a social system, like an organization, it is possible to get a better understanding of it.

Aniara is a versified epos written by Harry Martinson in 1956. The story is about a large group of people who are being evacuated from earth to Mars because the earth is radiated. However something goes wrong. They fall out of course and end up on a never ending journey in space.This essay examines the relations between the eposAniara and Lars Rudolfssons dramatization for Stockholm City Theater, played during the fall/winter of 2010. Through performativity and narrative theories I analyze narrations and characterization in the text and in the play.

This paper aims to determine what is decisive for localisation of production units when a company engages in offshoring. By performing a case study on Electrolux and comparing the results with theoretical literature we discuss the implications for manufacturing companies in general. To facilitate a structured analysis we have developed a model dividing the localisation decision into five perspectives and four geographical levels. We have found that the determinants of localisation vary depending on the geographical level of the decision process. Since all geographical levels are interconnected, the analysis needed for a decision on all levels simultaneously is very comprehensive.

This bachelor thesis is intended to gather the knowledge and experimental data on the winter wheat crop production relevant for Swedish conditions, with focus on sowing time, row spacing and seed rate. This essay is a literature study with a minor component based on interviews with farmers producing winter wheat. The work is divided into a background part where basic knowledge of winter wheat physiology, development and environment interactions are described and one part where results of field trials studies are presented. Optimal date of sowing winter wheat depends on annual weather variations. Because it is difficult to forecast the weather the choice of sowing date should be based on weather statistics, production experience and previous results depending on sowing date.

High quality within a Lean production system begins with standardised work, which creates stable processes able to generate predictable output. If nonconformity from the standard procedures occurs, routines are needed to analyse, correct and prevent the nonconformity from occurring again. In that way, the nonconformity can be a trigger for continuous improvements toward more stable processes. In takted production lines, where the operator follows a standard sequence with tasks set to be completed within the takt time, a nonconformity leads to downtime in the operator?s sequence, and no value is added.

The Volvo Trucks plant in Umeå is a highy complex manufacturing facility where the same production line handles a variety of different models. This require flexible and agile processes with high quality standards. This thesis studies the flow of material through a production line and how Volvo can use their existing manufacturing monitoring system to optimize the flow of materials.The goal with the thesis is to identify eventual problems with the flow of materials and to deliver a few proposals on how the production line can improve its productivity. The theory of LEAN, Just-In-Time and Supply Chain Management serves as the scientific reference to this project. By analyzing the flow of material, performing interviews and observing the processes a few problems are identified.

SAMMANFATTNING Norra älvstranden har sedan industrialiseringen på 1800-talet varit ett område för varvsindustri och blev under 1900-talet en av de viktigaste hamnarna i Skandinavien.Under de tre senaste decennierna har varvsindustrin här gått från framgång till kris och avveckling. I mitten av 1980-talet påbörjades arbetet med en omvandling av norra älvstranden från varvsindustri till en stadsdel med en blandning av olika funktioner,såsom verksamheter,bostäder,handel,service och kultur. Projektet delades in i flera etapper,varav Frihamnen är en etapp som ännu inte utvecklats. Förbindelserna mellan norra och södra älvstranden samt mellan norra älvstranden och centrala delarna på Hisingen aktualiseras ytterligare i och med förändringarna på norra älvstranden.För att integrera de ?nya ? stadsdelarna med centrala Göteborg krävs gena,säkra och effektiva stråk som binder samman stadsdelarna. Arbetet med dessa förbindelser är en viktig förutsättning för Göteborgs framtida utveckling. I detta projekt studeras,utifrån en så kallad Space Syntaxanalys,hur Frihamnen kan integreras med city och de centrala delarna på Hisingen samt vilken betydelse ökade förbindelser över Göta älv har för integreringen av och mellan dessa områden.Space Syntaxanalysen kan kort beskrivas som en renodlad rumslig analys som studerar det fysiska rummets konfigurering i en stad.Detta innebär att analysen fokuserar på relationerna mellan rummen och inte på rummen i sig.Enligt upphovsmannen till teorin,Bill Hillier,avgör det fysiska rummets konfigurella egenskaper uppkomsten för socialt liv.Detta projekt beskriver,redovisar och diskuterar även teorin som analysmetod och planeringsinstrument. Som vägledning genom studien ges här en läshänvisning av de olika delarna i dokumentet.Del I redogör för arbetets syfte och bakgrund samt beskriver områdets historik och förutsättningar.Del II beskriver Space Syntax som teori och metod.Del III diskuterar Space Syntax som analys-och planeringsinstrument samt visar analyser av olika planstrukturer över Frihamnen.Del IV redovisar planförslaget med de nya kopplingarna.Del V ger kommentarer och drar slutsatser kring arbetet med och studien av teorin Space Syntax..

The purpose of this study was to examine whether a L2 learner could correct or imitate structures of the language that they could not produce in written production defined by processability theori levels.The Informants had Arabic as their mother tongue. The study showed that the ability of correction developed slower than the capacity for imitation and the ability to written production. The ability of the correction developed by the duration of the stay. The result was a confirmation of theory formation in processability theory. Corrective elicitering could be developed into a useful diagnostic tool in the classroom and thus provide an education that followed a natural learning order according to processability theory by Pienemann.Keywords: processability theori, imitation, correction, written production.

Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion, OTEC, is a sustainable energy conversion technology that is not yet commercialized. OTEC is a technology that utilizes the temperature difference in oceans between the warm surface water and the cold water at 1 000 m depth to run a Rankine Cycle. This technology can produce electricity and provide synergies like fresh water, air conditioning and aquaculture. A simulation program for three alternative OTEC systems has been created in order to decide which OTEC system is most profitable; closed, open or hybrid system. In this simulation a production cost analysis is performed in order to investigate and decide which one of the three systems that has the lowest production cost. The production cost analysis also analyzes if the profitability is affected by the size of the facility. After these analyzes, the most profitable of the three different OTEC-systems is expanded by an installation of solar collectors in order to see if the thermal efficiency is improved. The result shows that the most profitable system varies with the size of the facility.
