The textile business is one of the oldest industries of our time, and it employs nearly 1.4 million workers within the European Union alone. It is not unusual that this is the foundation of a country?s industrialisation. Even though the industry brings many positive factors, there are also negative factors that will influence the industry?s growth in the future.

The idea for the project emerged when Nilorn wanted to get better control over their supplychain and improve operational efficiency. The company also want to reduce their expenses inthe continuous process of improving profitability. By choosing the right option oftransportation and mode of transport there are large potential savings for the company. Thisenables Nilorn to reduce the transportation costs and strengthen the environmentalresponsibilities by reducing their environmental impact.The flow of goods within Nilorn has over the past years increased significantly and most ofthe gods today is transported by air. The aim of this thesis is to analyse the supply chain of thecompany and evaluate the potential economic savings in this area.

Utvecklingen av modern teknologi går framåt i en rasande takt och de fysiska butikerna behöver skapa unika lösningar vilket gör att de kan locka konsumenter med både emotionella och funktionella shoppingvärden. Internetbutikerna lockar med deras tillgänglighet, vilket har lett till att de flesta detaljister idag har en webbshop. Flera detaljister har även börjat integrera deras onlinebutik med deras fysiska butik genom användning av surfplattor i butikerna; vilket har banat väg för omnichannel. Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka om teknologins möjligheter och fördelar går att kombinera med den fysiska butikens företräden i säljprocessen. Författaren har undersöka hur ett framtida butikskoncept kan komma att se ut.

This study has investigated what makes a business relation satisfactory. The purpose is to distinguish the factors that are relevant to a functioning cooperation relationship between sawmills and DIY-stores. The theoretical framework is primarily based on long-term business relationships. The study is based on two case companies and their relations with wood-suppliers. - Case company 1 is a relatively new established and still growing company.

In recent years it has become more and more evident that man has contributed to much of the climate changes that have taken place during the last century. A major challenge today is to reduce emissions and energy usage at the same time as the global population is growing. To contribute to a better environment, Stockholms Stad has set at target of becoming fossil fuel free by the year of 2050. The construction of new districts is done with this goal in mind; energy efficiency and renewable energy sources are examples of methods to achieve this.Solar energy is considered to be a sustainable energy source and the most common techniques to harvest solar energy in Sweden are solar cells and solar collectors which produce electricity and heat respectively. This report aims to investigate whether an investment in any of these systems would prove to be economically beneficial at Kvarnholmen, a district under construction in eastern Nacka, Stockholm.Since the finished blueprints only cover a small portion of Kvarnholmen, the report examines the possibilities for a house where construction has already begun, Nya Kvarnen.

Detta för att utbudet på Åland idag är smalt med endast ett fåtal butiker. Avsikten med vår uppsatts är att undersöka och analysera möjligheten att öppna en lönsam Gina Tricot butik på Åland. Det företag vi valt att se närmare på är Gina Tricot som är ett svenskt konfektionsföretag som startades 1997 med syftet att erbjuda bra mode till bra pris. Vi har utvecklat en etableringsplan utifrån Gina Tricots affärskoncept.

Marknadskommunikationens syften kan vara många, men att bygga företagets varumärke starkare kan vara en av anledningarna till kommunikation med omvärlden. Att som företag inneha ett start varumärke är en fördel på en allt mer globaliserad och konkurrensintensiv marknad. Det är därmed av vikt för företag att på ett tydligt sätt kommunicera sin identitet för att differentiera sig mot andra varumärken. En möjlig positioneringsstrategi att använda sig av för företag är att kommunicera varumärkets country-of-origin, något som enligt tidigare forskning kan vara extra gynnsamt för designrelaterade företag. Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka svenska modeföretags användning av country-of- origin i sin marknadskommunikation.

Hemoplus® (Sarstedt, Nümbrecht, Tyskland) is a guaiac-based fecal occult blood test developed for human medicine. Guaiac-based tests make use of the pseudoperoxidase activity of hemoglobin so the test is not specific for human hemoglobin and can therefore be used in veterinary medicine. Peroxidase-containing foods such as meat (hemoglobin and myoglobin) can cause false-positive results of the test. To ensure that a positive result is not caused by diet, it has been suggested that canine patients should be fed a meatless diet for a few days prior to fecal occult blood testing. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of commercial dog food on guaiac-based tests. In this study fecal samples from healthy dogs were analyzed with Hemoplus®.

Jorden är och förblir rund...I mitt examensarbete, bestående av uppsats, interaktiv gestaltning och performance vill jag belysa och uppmärksamma hur det ser ut inom textilindustrin idag. Mötet mellan dessa två världar är ett ekorrhjul som går snabbare och snabbare. Genom att uppmärksamma förhållandena vill jag övertala betraktaren till att tänka efter.Den konstnärliga gestaltningen av examensarbetet behandlar textilindustrins smutsiga baksida och börjar i "fabriken".

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the possibility to make small, cheap and ultra low power sensor platforms, connected in wireless networks for monitoring of home and industrial environments. The concept is based on ideas from our supervisor, Jerry Lindblom. The developed system consists of a generic platform for different sensors, a receiver and software. A GPRS module from RO Rollytech AB and a database from Gema Industri AB have been modified and used to demonstrate an example of a complete system. To the platform, it is possible to connect any resistive sensor and any sensor that can act as a switch.
