Problem: The corrugated board industry is highly affected by customer uncertainty, various demands and short delivery times. In combination with a complex multi-step production process managers have to be able to identify bottle-necks and gain knowledge and understanding of how different changes in process will affect the production output. <br/><br/>Purpose: The purpose of this master thesis is twofold, (1) to examine applicability of complexity theory through agent-based modelling on a production process (2) to identify improvement areas in order to increase the production output at SKS production site in Eslöv, by modelling and simulating the production process through an agent-based model. <br/><br/>Method: The chosen method of this study is a combination of a case study and a complex system approach. The empirical data was collected through interviews, observation and document studies which were analysed through an agent-based simulation model.

This essay puts its focus on examining vendors? underlying decision criterias when choosing an estate agent at the purpose of selling an apartment. The purpose is on one hand to expound the knowledge of the vendor?s decision process and on the other hand to evaluate how the choice of an estate agent is perceived to the vendor. By nine interviews we explored what reasons made vendors choose their agents and whether they were contented with their choice.

Stratego is a boardgame not very different from chess, that contains hidden information. Because of this, existing programs play at beginner level. The purpose of this thesis is to adjust a minimax algorithm so that it passes the demands of Stratego, and then build a Stratego agent around it. Tests with existing minimax algorithms leads to the development p-e-minimax. This algorithm uses two different values in its nodes to simulate the different information available to the agent and its opponent.

In this report I have compiled my thesis which was about investigating what sellers of real estates find important when they shall appoint a real estate agent. I have also looked into other parameters in my study, like whether the sellers at all use real estate agents and how they have proceeded in case they do not use an agent. In addition to that, I have tried to find out why sellers didn´t chose LRF Konsult and what they know about the company. This analyses was made through questionnaires sent to those estate owners who didn´t use LRF Konsult when they sold their estate. The questionnaires contained 8 questions.

Syftet är att med hjälp av fallet Stockholms stads hemtjänst analysera hur ledningen på utförarnivå implementerar ett påtvingat arbetssystem.Studien är kvalitativ där avsikten med studien är att beskriva och analysera respondenternas tankar och upplevelser kring implementeringen av arbetssystemet. Som forskningsstrategi har en fallstudiemetod använts. Den huvudsakliga datakällan är åtta intervjuer med chefer på olika utförarenheter i Stockholms stad.Uppsatsens teoretiska ansats utgörs av Principal-agent teorin, teorier om förändringsmotstånd och förändringsledning samt teorier om implementering av ny teknologi.Studien tar sin grund i att Stockholms stad infört ett nytt rapporteringssystem i hemtjänsten år 2014, något som har mött mycket motstånd av vårdbiträden. Detta har lagt press på ledningen på utförarnivå som lett implementeringsarbetet i utförarenheterna. Genom åtta stycken intervjuer med chefer från olika utförarenheter har ledningens roll och ansvar av implementeringsarbetet uppskattats samt ledningens hantering av motstånd diskuterats.Studien har resulterat i en utvärdering av ledningsarbetet som till största delen påverkat utfallet av införandet av ParaGå i hemtjänsten.

Abstract  The purpose of this essay was to study understandings, determine the meening of a good learning environment in the school class, and how teachers and principal can contribute to it. On the basis of existing research that says: the common attitudes and standpoints between the school management and the teachers, is fundamental in case a good learning environment will occur in the classroom, the study has analyzed if the principal?s and the teacher?s attitudes in this study, are the same. The study is based on four main questions:  What is a good learning environment, according to teachers, principal and existing research?  How can teachers and principal contribute to a good learning environment, according to teachers, principal and existing research?  Do the teacher?s and principal?s attitudes concerning what defines a good learning environment, agree?   Do the teacher?s and principal?s attitudes concerning how teachers and principal can contribute to a good learning environment, agree?  To reply to the purpose of the study, five qualitative interviews were made. The interviews were done with five teachers and one principal, working in the same school. Research and litterature of interest, has been read, and these are presented in this essay. The study result shows that the existing research gives a wide definition of what a good learning environment is, and how a teacher and principal can contribute to it.

The appointing of Swedish governmental officials has gone through a dramatic change the last nine years. The tradition of officials appointed due to their political experience has been traded against the appointing of experts. In this study I ask questions about this new way of appointing representatives effects how these officials interpret their role. An official that who has never been in the party before appointed, obviously cannot consider the principal of party. With the theoretical approach of normative representation theory (representational style) I perform case studies that shows some change.

Uppdragsrelationer är komplexa företeelser och leder ofta till motsättningar, främst på grund av skiljda målsättningar, osäkerhet och brist på förtroende mellan de inblandade. Vilka faktorer påverkar den utländska uppdragstagaren beteendemönster och hur ska den svenska uppdragsgivaren försäkra sig om att denne agerar i företagets intresse? Syftet med uppsatsen är att ur ett agent ? principal teoretiskt perspektiv beskriva, analysera och slutligen generera ny kunskap kring uppdragsrelationer mellan svenska företag och deras samarbetspartner på utländska marknader. Frågeställningar - Hur kan uppdragsrelationen mellan fallföretaget Oscar Jacobson och deras återförsäljare på utländska marknader beskrivas ur ett agent ? principal teoretiskt perspektiv?- Vilka begränsningar kan urskiljas i relationen mellan en svensk uppdragsgivare och en utländsk samarbetspartner? - På vilket sätt kan relationsmarknadsföring tillämpas som strategiskt verktyg för att förbättra relationen mellan en svensk uppdragsgivare och en utländsk samarbetspartner? Metod Uppsatsens författare har tillämpat ett abduktivt tillvägagångssätt och har genom kvalitativa intervjuer samlat in empiriskt material genom dels en fallstudie på Oscar Jacobson och dels intervjuer med Exportrådet och Svenska Handelskammaren.

Aim: Many people react negatively when they find out that I work as an estate agent. They believe that estate agents earn more money then they should. What many do not know is how hard we must work and that it doesn´t suit someone who is looking for an 8-17 work. As an estate agent I thought it would be interesting to found out why the estate agents have such a bad reputation.Method: This essay is based on the interviews with estate agents and branch organizations but also on newspaper articles about real estate agents. Theory is collected marketing, where I have concentrate on concepts of branding, positioning, communication and image.Result & Conclusions: The factors, which I found in my investigation, that have an effect to the bad reputation are; media, commission, the customers and the bidding.

This thesis analyzes the consequences of ?Lex Uggla? ? a law concerning the boundaries between firm and individual with respect to wealth taxation ? for small businesses, with more than 3 million SEK in over-liquidity. There are two main findings of this thesis. Firstly, the wealth taxation of non-operational assets seems to be an inefficient tax which costs the Swedish welfare system much more than it generates. Secondly, the change in actions among entrepreneurs following the extensive news coverage following the tax authority?s charges against the company of the well-known artist, Magnus Uggla (hence ?Lex Uggla?) illustrates that neither changes of rules nor new applications of rules is necessarily sufficient for an agent to change course of action.

New guidelines and laws were set to try and improve the quality of the auditing business while trying to restore stained reputation. New regulations were also set to increase the control the government have of inspecting the business through finansinspektionen..

The purpose of this essay is to describe how Boverkets Byggregler has affected the cost ofnewly built houses from 2003 to 2012, to Boverkets Vision 2025. The purpose is also to findagent-principal relations in the construction sector.When investing in an energy efficient house the operating costs are reduced compared to aconventional house. But due to the lower operating costs, the investment cost rises. In thisstudy, we find out if it is economically viable to invest in an energy efficient house comparedto a conventional house from the customer's perspective.The study's approach has been qualitatively where we in collaboration with Derome Hus hadaccess to three conventional reference houses and a passive house and data that was necessaryto conduct viability assessments on houses. We conducted five interviews with people fromDeromekoncernen and Varbergs kommun.The calculation methods we have used in this study are present value method, annuity methodand a sensitivity analysis.

The purpose of the study is to investigate how board structure influences CEO compensation for companies listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange in 2004. The theoretical frame of reference is based upon the corporate governance theory, the Principal-agent theory and previous empirical research in the area. A cross sectional regression analysis is used, where a number of control variables are included and significance tests are conducted. The study is based on information regarding CEO compensation, and possible factors affecting the compensation, from 267 companies listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange A- and O-list in the year 2004. We find that the board structure has no significant effect on the CEO compensation.

Metod:Studien har genomförts som en kvalitativ fallstudie. Då vikt lagts vid värderingar och åsikter ansågs det lämpligt att främst samla in material genom semistrukturerade intervjuer med personer på olika hierarkiska nivåer, det vill säga i kommunledningen, på nämndsnivå och på förvaltningschefsnivå.
