The purpose in this Bachelor degree project has been to create a visual identity and to design a compilation cassette for the small music distributor Kyrkvägen Kassett. My way of approaching the task has been to draw parallells between the cassette as an obsolete music format and more or less abandoned or anachronistic formats, materials and printing methods in the graphic design area. The result is a visual identity that is built upon materials and methods of production rather than specific visual elements. The work is to be seen as a tribute to the small non-profit producers of music and graphic design. As often done in the DIY movement, I chose to consider my lack of practical knowledge in these fields not as an encumbrance but as an asset and an incentive.

The goal of this master thesis project was to develop computer models of some plausiblepretreatment techniques and to assess the potential benefits/costs of using pretreatment andanaerobic digestion for waste management of organic waste from a system perspective. Forthis purpose a computer program called ORWARE has been used. ORWARE (organic wasteresearch) is a program for making life cycle assessments of waste management. As the mainpart of the project work the ORWARE system has been provided with three new models ofpretreatment techniques. The additions consist of: One model of pretreatment with ultrasound,one model of thermal hydrolysis and one model of a screw Press.

This study concerns how Muslims are portrayed in a choice of twelve news articles from Swedish dailies and tabloid newspapers on the aftermath of the film Innocence of Muslims published on YouTube. All articles are distributed in the newspapers Aftonbladet, ExPressen, Dagens Nyheter and Svenska Dagbladet in the period of September 11th, 2012 until September 30th, 2012.For this study, a qualitative text analysis has been embraced and focus has been on van Dijk?s Critical discourse analysis to the texts, with additional features from semiotics applied on the images.The theories consist of Critical discourse analysis, hegemony, ideology and power, postcolonialism and stereotyping.In the qualitative content analysis, concrete examples from the articles are retrieved and commented. These have been divided into various themes, which are trends that the authors have been able to distinguish in the analysis.The result shows that Muslims in the analyzed newspapers are portrayed as the others, unimportant and extremely religious, in a negative manner rather than a positive. Moreover the Press has tendencies to generalize Muslims as a group.

The question formulation in the essay brought up whether Clas Ohlson works today with their graphical productionflow and if that way of working leads to a desirable result in Press. After a dialogue with Clas Ohlson it emerged thatthey had certain problems with the material that came out of the printing Presses. Certain colours were not reproducedaccording to the stated values that had been developed. In March -08 an analysis of the graphical production flowspresent situation were done at Clas Ohlsons in order to find out how they worked with their production of print materials.In the analysis, their way to work with color spaces, displays, ICC-profiles, PDF-exports, pictures and printerswere examined. Occasional interviews were also implemented with responsible personnel about how they worked withdifferent aspects.Deficiencies were found on almost all examined parts in their graphical production flow.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the ongoing changes in German family policy. It explores the issue of whether the German welfare state, in this policy field, can still be regarded as a conservative welfare model or rather approaches a more liberal or social democratic model. A qualitative method is used to analyze the material, especially from the German government, including Press releases, other public documents and also articles from the political weekly magazines Der Spiegel and Die Zeit. The changes analyzed are the new parental benefit, the expansion of child care, the concept of whole-day schools and the system of joint taxation. The point of departure is Gösta Esping-Andersen?s categorization of three types of welfare states: the social democratic, the conservative and the liberal.

The following theories has been used to reach the objective: the journalism task, news values, the liberty of Press and speach, media ethical rules and discursive discrimination. The study has used a critical discourse method formed by Teun a. van Dijk to analyse the material, mainly through macro- and microstructures.

I denna studie analyseras funktionen av ordet hen i syfte att undersöka hur ordet används i dag. Hen fungerar som könsneutralt pronomen i svenskan men fyller även andra syntaktiska och könsöverskridande funktioner. Materialet har analyserats med en kvantitativ ansats och består av texter från dagsPress där de olika förekomsterna av hen har kategoriserats efter funktion och texttyp. Uppsatsens avsnitt om teori behandlar språkplanering, feministisk språkplanering och hens uppkomst. Resultatet visar att hen främst fyller syntaktiska funktioner i dagsPress, där 143 av 167 förekomster av ordet användes i funktioner som i den här studien kategoriserats som syntaktiska.

Syftet är undersöka Svenska kyrkans organisationsidentitet för att få ökad kunskap om vilken påverkan den har på organisationens interna såväl som externa kommunikation. Vidare undersöker vi Svenska kyrkans image för att se hur imagen i sin tur påverkar organisationsidentiteten.Kvalitativa intervjuer har genomförts med elva medarbetare i den undersökta organisationen och en innehållsanalys av medietexter från en dags- respektive kvällstidning har utförts.Teorier kring det senmoderna samhället, organisationsidentitet, corporate identity, image samt förtroendekriser har studerats. Teorierna utgör grunden för vår analys och våra slutsatser.Som ett resultat av Svenska kyrkans organisationsstruktur och den tolkningsfrihet som råder består organisationen av en mängd identiteter som är svåra att förena. Avsaknaden av en stark organisationsidentitet medför att mediebilden av Svenska kyrkan har en stark inverkan på organisationens image. Det pågående arbetet för en gemensam logotyp hoppas organisationen ska öka samhörigheten internt såväl som externt..

Transport is an important aspect to take account in efforts to achieve sustainable tourism development. If we do not change our behavior regarding travel, the consequences will be significant for the environment. This study examines the various transport operators on the two Swedish ski resorts if their websites and marketing are different from each other in the mode selection. The destinations are Åre and Hemavan Tärnaby. They studied modes are two Swedish airlines, two train companies, three bus companies and three taxi companies.These corporate websites are studied with a content analysis in which the results of the keywords that have been developed are scored according to different categories.

Sex personer har intervjuats för att ta reda på hur de ser på sin arbetssituation, samt vad skillnaden är mellan deras upplevelser. Vi intervjuade växeltelefonister och fritidsledare. Samtliga respondenter saknade fast anställning alltså, tillsvidareanställning. Växeltelefonister och fritidsledare är två exempel på yrken som har många timanställda och vikarier. Som timanställd och vikarie lever man under en viss Press.

Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva upplevelser av att leva med andnöd hos personer med luftvägssjukdomar. Studien baseras på tio internationellt publicerade kvalitativa vetenskapliga artiklar. Artiklarna analyserades med kvalitativ innehållsanalys med manifest ansats. Analysen resulterade i fem kategorier: att vara begränsad: att döden blir ett faktum: att andnöd ger upphov till känsloutbrott: att vilja ha någon nära samt att kunna hantera och ta ansvar för sin andnöd. Det framkom att personer med luftvägssjukdomar uttryckte svårigheter att hantera sin andnöd genom att inte kunna göra vardagliga sysslor så som ta på sig kläder, diska och fysiska aktiviteter.

This BA Thesis in Journalism is a quantitative analysis of the coverage of wolves in Swedish printed media. Namely four daily newspapers, two national and two local. The two national newspapers are Aftonbladet which is a leading tabloid newspaper with national coverage and Svenska Dagbladet which is one of the two major newspapers with national coverage, as well as coverage of the greater Stockholm region. The two local newspapers are Falu Kuriren, which is located in Falun and mainly cover the province of Dalarna and Nya Wermlands-tidningen which is located in Karlstad and mainly cover the province of Värmland. These are provinces which have a large wolf population.As the work progressed we found that the newspapers have handled the coverage of the wolf in, what we believe, a good way.
