The aim of this pilotstudy was to compare the plaqueformation during four weeks in individuals using a mouthrinse containing either essential oils (Listerine Cool Mint) or CPC (Colgate Total) as a complement to their ordinary toothbrushing. Another purpose was to evaluate the individual?s experiences regarding taste and sensation in the mouth after rinsing. A semiblind, clinical pilotstudy was conducted in 20 individuals at a university in southern Sweden. According to a screening-plaqueindex the individuals were stratified into two intervention-groups of ten people, one group rinsing with essential oils and one group with CPC twice daily as a complement to their toothbrushing routine.

Syftet med arbetet är att se hur begreppet hållbar utveckling presenteras i svenska läroböcker inom ämnet geografi vid gymnasiet. Jag har även haft som syfte att undersöka förhållandet mellan läroböckernas texter med det rådande forskningsläget kring begreppet hållbar utveckling. För att få svar på frågeställningen har jag använt mig av en textanalytisk metod av tre läroböcker som är vanligt förekommande i undervisning i geografi vid gymnasiet. Resultatet visar på att man använt sig av en ytlig presentation av begreppet hållbar utveckling, vilket stämmer väl in på hur man valt att presentera nya händelser som tex. konferenser, rapporter etc.

The goal and purpose of this essay is to study if and how multimodality is used within a Swedish school in Kalmar. This is accomplished by observing the different modalities inside the classroom and how the use of different modalities affects the teaching. Unstructured observations combined with a material-based thematic presentation leads up to an analysis based on social semiotics and multimodality. The essay shows how the teaching uses lots of modalities: sound, images, movies, speeches and literary text in lots of different ways. These different types of modalities are used in a multimodal context, providing good conditions for learning..

Syftet med min uppsats är att försöka förmedla hur man ser på anime, ett så typiskt japanskt fenomen, här i väst? Vidare så har jag genom litteraturstudier försökt presentera för läsaren vad anime är för något. Detta görs genom en kort historisk presentation av anime för att sedan djupare visa strukturen i anime, karaktärer, innehåll och slutligen huruvida anime återspeglar nutida oro i det egna samhället. Även en viss diskussion förs gällande anime och dess legitimitet som japanskt kulturarv. Mina informanter får också berätta hur dom tycker att anime särskiljer sig från övriga animationer, då främst från väst samt hur den svenska marknaden och dess tittare ställer sig till anime..

Techniques used in the building of a number of ships from the Mediterranean will be presented in this paper. The two techniques thnat will be discussed are shell-based technique and skeleton-basedtechnique. An attempt to clearify and delineate the transition between these two techniques will be made. Syftet är att beskriva och analysera ekonomistyrningen i ett stort försäljningsinriktat företag som nyligen organiserats enligt matrisstruktur. Metod: Det teoretiska avsnittet beskriver relevanta teorier kring ekonomisk styrning och organisationsstruktur. Det empiriska avsnittet består av en presentation av Sydkraft Försäljning AB och de förutsättningar under vilken deras verksamhet drivs. Teorin och empirin ger underlag till problemdiskussionen. Denna studie undersöker om lättillgänglig information om matrecepts koldioxidutsläpp kan göra att människor väljer miljövänligare måltider. Studien genomfördes under realistiska förhållanden med hjälp av en webbaserad prototyp som automatiskt beräknar och presenterar olika matrecepts koldioxidutsläpp när användaren surfar på en webbplats med recept. Beteendet vid val av måltider studerades för en grupp om 15 personer, både med och utan användning av prototypen. Deltagarnas upplevelse av prototypen samlades in genom fokusgrupper. Användning av prototypen resulterade i en minskning av deltagarnas genomsnittliga koldioxidutsläpp med ca 2,2 kilo per måltid (45 %).

AIM The aim of this paper was to clarify some of the factors that motivates pet owners to follow advice and instructions from veterinary nurses, so called compliance. METHOD An empirical study with an inductive approach was conducted, and a qualitative content analysis was performed. Content analysis is a scientific method of achieving qualitative results. The analysis is based on interviews with five pet owners, completed in February 2012. The interviews were transcribed and the results are made up of abstracted quotations. RESULTS The result in the study indicate that pet owners are motivated by information, respect, trustworthiness and treatment in meeting.

The purpose of my study was to explore how preschool educators in Kenya look at children's influence on teaching. Researchers have argued that the formal educational system in Kenya today is a remnant of its days as a colony when people were expected to blindly follow rules without questioning them. I have used qualitative interviews as a method in order get the most concrete understanding of educators? views on the influence from children. The educators I interviewed were based at a school I visited in Kenya.

As energy prices skyrocket and the environmental issues become more frequently debated, interest in energy-efficient buildings has increased sharply in the past decade. Because of this, the interest to achieve high air tightness in building envelopes have once again awakened, due to a good air tightness contributes to lower energy consumption in several ways and to a healthier indoor environment.As the regulations for energy consumption and controls of achieved air tightness has tightened considerably in recent years, the work regarding sheets for air tightness changed significantly for construction contractors. This thesis includes a study that aims to detect what kind of manuals, recommendations or instructions contractors working according, and how a number of randomly selected construction companies in Halland, Sweden, are dealing with the matter of high air tightness of the building envelopes. The study also includes a knowledge inventory of supervisors, site managers and skilled workers, and what their opinions and attitudes are like towards work regarding the sheets of air tightness. The results have been compared with a similar survey dated to 2004, conducted by the SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden in collaboration with Chalmers University of Technology.
