The purpose of this study was to examine work related stressors and related coping strategies among case managers at a domestic violence shelter in the United States. We further wanted to examine whether locus of control among the participants could be related to work related stress and coping strategies. Qualitative interviews were performed with eight case managers to gain knowledge about the stressors and coping strategies they used by examining their thoughts, feelings and experiences. The result showed that the case managers experience a number of stressors in their work environment such as system problems (e.g., lack of re¬sources and time pressure) and emotional stress. Coping responses among the case managers included efforts to alter the problem, so called problem focused coping, efforts to control emo¬tions, so called emotions focused coping and social support from colleagues.

The aim of this study was to examine how social policy is created in a local context on the basis of the situation regarding the begging EU migrants in Kalmar, Sweden. The last few years the number of begging EU migrants has increased in Sweden. Most of them are Roma with a history of exclusion and discrimination. To reach our goal we interviewed three managers from the social Services representing the local authorities. We also did four interviews with people from three non-profit organizations in Kalmar.

Patienter med hög intensitet av preoperativ stress och oro får ofta postoperativa komplikationer såsom längre återhämtningsfas och svårare sårläkning. Syftet med litteraturstudien var att belysa omvårdnadsåtgärder som kan påverka preoperativ stress och oro. Litteraturstudiens resultat bygger på en analys av 16 vetenskapliga artiklar som söktes utifrån litteraturstudiens syfte. Tre omvårdnadsåtgärder som är en del av sjuksköterskeprofessionen eller som finns tillgängliga på vårdavdelningar är information, sjuksköterskans förhållningssätt samt musik.

The knowledge of value-enhancing factors in condominiums is very important for real estate agents when valuing condominiums, but it is also of interest to the owner for an upcoming renovation and sale. Previous research has sorted out the most fundamental factors affecting value of condominiums such as location size, age and condition.The purpose of this paper is by consumer?s actual preferences regarding various attributes identify the most value-adding factors in condominiums. Thereby we want to add and nuance previous research.This has been done through a quantitative method in which possible buyers have ranked how various attributes affect their willingness to pay. The results were analyzed and the median of the various attributes have been recognized.The result shows in accordance with previous research that the location is the primary value-adding factor.

Several studies has identified the locker room experience as a potential deterrent for participation in physical education. Both psychological and physical issues arise due to several factors. Psychological issues include different kinds of verbal and physical violations, comparisons between pupils, feeling of vulnerability along with a stressful schedule. The physical environment can contribute to negative experience for pupils in terms of filthy premises and cold showers. These factors may contribute to higher absentee rates in physical education.

Syfte: Att undersöka hur musik som omvårdnadsåtgärd påverkar patienten fysiskt och psykiskt pre-, peri- och postoperativt. Metod: Deskriptiv litteraturstudie. 12 artiklar inkluderades som granskades, analyserades och sammanställdes. Sökningarna utfördes i databaserna PubMed och Cinahl. Huvudresultat: Resultatet visade att musik i samband med operation påverkar patienten både fysiskt och psykiskt på flera olika sätt.

Preoperativ fasta är väsentlig för den anestesiologiska säkerheten. Det ärviktigt att både patienter och personal följer de nationella rekommendationersom finns angående fastans duration, då en för kort eller för lång fasta kanförsämra de perioperativa förutsättningarna för patienten. Syftet med dennapilotstudie var att kartlägga elektiva patienters compliance till lokalarekommendationer angående preoperativ fasta. I syfte att testa metodengjordes en pilotstudie med fem semistrukturerade intervjuer. Den insamladedatan bearbetades med hjälp av kvalitativ innehållsanalys.

Limb-sparing surgery aims to provide a functional pain free leg for the patient after removal of a local tumour in the leg. Reasons to perform limb-sparing instead of amputation can be arthrosis or hipdysplasia or other problems with the locomotor apparatus that makes the patient unsuitable for amputataion. Owner reluctance to amputate is another reason for limb-sparing. This master?s thesis is a case study of a dog with an osteosarcoma in its distal radius. The dog was treated by a limb-sparing method that uses the ipsilateral ulna as a vascularized roll-over autograft.

För att förebygga komplikationer vid kirurgiska ingrepp är den preoperativa fasen viktig. Sjuksköterskans roll innebär bland annat att försöka skapa trygghet samt ge adekvat information till patienten. Syftet med studien var att undersöka följsamheten gällande preoperativa riktlinjer och allmänna omvårdnadsåtgärder. Vid datainsamlingen utfördes totalt nio observationer på sju sjuksköterskor i deras arbetsmiljö. Studien utgör en kvalitets¬säkring och sammanställdes med stöd av innehållsanalys.

The purpose of this report is to investigate the possibilities with drain water heat recovery (DWHR) in residential buildings. Information and relevant theory has been collected and summarized in this report. Calculations have been done for given scenarios to evaluate profits. DWHR heat exchangers use simple technology and have long life-time. The heat exchanger is connected to outgoing drainage pipe and incoming cold-water supply so countercurrent flow is accomplished.

Introduktion:Inför en kirurgisk operation spelar den preoperativa informationen till patienten en mycket viktig roll för att patienten skall känna sig trygg i en annars maktlös situation. Detta lägger stort ansvar på den person som genomför det preoperativa samtalet.Syfte:Syftet med detta kvalitetssäkringsarbete var att beskriva patienters upplevelser av den perioperativa processen samt upplevelser av den preoperativt givna informationen.Metod:Arbetet har en kvalitativ ansats där åtta patienter som opererats med colorektal kirurgi vid kirurgisk klinik ingick. Semistrukturerade intervjuer gjordes där alla intervjuer spelades in och transkriberades ordagrant. Insamlad data analyserades med kvalitativ innehållsanalys.Resultat:Analysen resulterade i fyra kategorier och nio subkategorier. Dessa redovisas dels i en tabell samt i en berättande text med citat från intervjuerna.

Nurse anesthetists have a key role in creating a safe environment and the opportunity to use different interventions to reduce the degree of anxiety.AimThe aim of the study was to examine which interventions may reduce anxiety in adult patients before and during both general, local and regional anesthesia.DesignSystematic literature review with a quantitative approach.ResultsSeveral studies indicate that gabapentin and pregabalin can reduce anxiety before and during anesthesia. The anxiety reducing effect appeared to be dose dependent. The naturopathic drugs Citrus aurantium blossom and Passiflora incarnata Linneaus were found to reduce anxiety before anesthesia.
