Noggrannhet vid målinmätning : Analys av ett eldledningsinstrument med förbättringsförslag
This Master Thesis has been conducted as an assignment of the Swedish Defence MaterialAdministration and the Swedish Armed Forces and aims to examine the Target Location Error(TLE) of a Forward Observer System. The targeting accuracy of the system is vital if the systemis to be used as a sensor for precision munitions. The analyzed system, EOI (FOI 2000), wasdelivered to the Swedish Armed Forces in 2007. The targeting sequence starts with deciding theposition of the system with a GPS-receiver, continues with methods where the north direction issettled and ends by measuring the distance, direction and elevation to the target. When allparameters have been measured the system calculates the position of the target.

The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate 7 different search strategies for content-based image retrieval with respect to retrieval effectiveness. The strategies are based on different levels of resolution implemented by the Haar transformation. The result of the study shows an improvement in both mean average precision and mean recall in strategies based on lower levels of resolution..

The diffusion of minimum tillage in agricultural China : a study of the factors influencing the farmers? choice of tillage system
The Chinese government´s aim to be self-sufficient in food production in combination with the increased food consumption in China has put high pressure on the productivity within the Chinese agricultural sector (He j et al, 2010). In order to increase the productivity, modernization and adoption of new farming techniques are essential. The opportunity to adopt and import foreign technology has lately been possible in China, as more authority and decision rights have been given to the individual farmers and the country has opened up for foreign trade (Zheng, 2012 & Fan, 1991).
A more open Chinese market enables new opportunities for foreign agricultural companies to expand their businesses by introducing their products to Chinese farmers. But to succeed with this strategy the Chinese farmers must be willing to adopt these, for them new innovations.
Minimum tillage is a tillage practice used worldwide that is suitable in northern China where drought and erosion are the main problems in the crop production (pers.com., Arvidsson, 2012).
Potential users? opinion of new innovations such as minimum tillage is closely related to adoption (Rogers, 2003).
Sound Fence
To fence in pastures for sheep today is a major cost, especially because of the time required when using current methods. What takes most time is starting to fence off a new area, but to maintain a fence is also a continuous effort. The main function is to keep the sheep at the field.! !By interviewing and observing sheep farmers on how they work with fence today and what their problems was, I got a better understanding of the problem. Also looking at a number of other things like the context, statistics on sheep farming, laws and competition mapping gave a wider image. But the most important part in my research occurred when I talked to experts about sheep behavior.

In the year of 2011, the new CEO of AB Volvo announced a major reorganization. This reorganization was a contributing factor to the start-up of this thesis.Volvo Group Logistics Services (VGLS) is Volvo Group?s global logistics partner, which designs, manages and optimizes all of the group's incoming and outgoing logistics flows. With the reorganization, VGLS started a project regarding responsibilities around railway flows. Within the project a demand to collect logistics requirements occurred.
Ungefärlighetens precision : ett utvecklingsprojekt inom yrkesutbildning
Masteruppsats är ett resultat av det utvecklingsprojekt jag bedrev under 2009-2014 inom ramen för förarutbildningen som bedrivs på gymnasieskolans och vuxenutbildningens inriktning Transport. Arbetet ska ses i ljuset av den magisteruppsats jag skrev 2013, Förarutbildning och kunskapsbildning ? en studie om förarutbildningssystemet.Utvecklingsprojektets syfte var att undersöka om det var möjligt att nå djupare och mer varaktig kunskap, främst när det gäller de "mjukare" målen inom förarutbildningen: riskmedvetenhet, uppmärksamhet, nyfikenhet, erfarenhet och ödmjukhet. Alltså de kunskapsfält som inryms inom körkortsmålen tre och fyra: resande med bil i speciella sammanhang och personliga förutsättningar och målsättningar i livet.Uppsatsen beskriver mina tankar, försök och trevanden för att skapa djupare och mer varaktig kunskap hos eleverna än vad jag upplevde att den traditionella förarutbildningen gav. Utvecklingsprojektets exempel visar att det är möjligt och att framgången ligger i ett stort fokus på de "mjukare" kunskaperna - de generella kompetenserna - som ödmjukhet, reflektion, nyfikenhet, självverksamhet, m.fl.

Besides the fertilizing effect this method has been shown to have a positive influ-ence on soil organic matter as well as weed flora, and green manure is an important me-thod of weed control in organic farming in parts of Sweden. However, the release of nu-trients from the green manure varies and can therefore be difficult to control. Risks for losses of nutrients are also present. Although the area of organic farmland is increasing in Sweden, the use of green manure is decreasing.This report contains a literature study which compiles research on the functions of green manure in a cropping system and also how the crop can be used if harvested, for example to produce biogas.
Företagsrekonstruktionens misslyckanden : Har rekonstruktören en roll i det?
The majority of the Swedish population were self-provided within agriculture a hundred years ago. Times do change and today the situation is the other way around - most of us live within city boundaries and only few work with farming and related agricultural businesses. One thing that has not changed though, is the need of supplies from Swedish agriculture.What do we think of those products? Are we even aware of the connection between us and agriculture? The Federation of Swedish Farmers, LRF (Lantbrukarnas riksförbund), started their project to strengthen the link between consumers and producers in 2008.This paper is part of the project and its aim is to investigate consumers' views and values upon the effects and products from Swedish agriculture.Opinions and values have been studied through interviews influenced by phenomenology. The results show that the informants in general had a positive approach and thinking concerning the products and effects from Swedish agriculture.

Bestämning av kroppssammansättning hos överviktiga och obesa ammande kvinnor. Validering av bioelektrisk impedans mot röntgenabsorption.
Introduction: Pregnancy, obesity, aging and certain diseases are examples of conditions thataffect the body, its constitution and composition. Simpler methods to estimate bodycomposition are needed to complement more advanced traditional methods to better identifythe health status without sacrificing accuracy and precision.Objective: To validate the results of body composition from bioelectrical impedancespectroscopy (BIS) against results from the study reference method, dual energy X-rayabsorption (DXA), in overweight and obese lactating women after childbirth.Method: The design of the LEVA-study (Lifestyle for Effective Weight loss during lactation)consisted both intervention and longitudinal follow-up, which gave the opportunity tovalidate the absolute values (accuracy) and the ability to detect changes (precision). Themean difference between methods was tested statistically by paired t-test. Bland-Altman plotsused to examine the degree of agreement between BIS and DXA, but also distribution andany systematic differences. Association between methods was measured by using Pearson´scorrelation coefficient.Results: Between BIS and DXA, absolute measurements of the variables fat-free mass (FFM)and fat mass (FM) showed a statistically significant difference (p < 0.001).

Timing innebär att bedöma tid och reglera sitt beteende tidsmässigt. Precision i timing påverkas bland annat av sensorisk feedback, men det är inte känt om starkare feedback ökar precisionen. Femton män och fem kvinnor genomförde en synkroniserings- och produktions-uppgift där feedbackljuden under produktionen förekom i fem ljudstyrkenivåer (65-105 dB i 10 dB steg) och två frekvenser (120 & 4200 Hz). Jag fann en signifikant interaktionseffekt mellan ljudnivå och frekvens. Även signifikanta skillnader i hur man skattade ljuden och skillnader i hur män och kvinnor skattade påträffades.
