A current issue today is to try to implement creative design as a way to solve wicked problems in scientific contexts such as HCI. Since the problems are wicked, they have no given solution which makes the traditional methods inadequate. In these cases, creative design can be an alternative. Creative design is not used in scientific contexts because it is viewed as something unaccountable.In this essay we argue that creative design not necessarily have to be unaccounted. We discuss various views of creative design and translate theory to a practical context.

The aim of this essay was to acquire an enhanced knowledge about young immigrants? point of view of integration. During a former practical training semester I became interested in what the young immigrants thought about their own integration, what their conception was about this issue. I found that it had different meaning to different persons, to some it meant assimilation, to others it meant being able to interact with the opposite gender. To examine this I used interviews and interviewed an amount of young immigrants in different stages of their studies in Swedish.

We derive the equation linking the Weyl tensor with its Lanczos potential, called the Weyl-Lanczos equation, in 1+3 covariant formalism for perfect fluid Bianchi type I spacetime and find an explicit expression for a Lanczos potential of the Weyl tensor in these spacetimes. To achieve this, we first need to derive the covariant decomposition of the Lanczos potential in this formalism. We also study an example by Novello and Velloso and derive their Lanczos potential in shear-free, irrotational perfect fluid spacetimes from a particular ansatz in 1+3 covariant formalism. The existence of the Lanczos potential is in some ways analogous to the vector potential in electromagnetic theory. Therefore, we also derive the electromagnetic potential equation in 1+3 covariant formalism for a general spacetime.

Fältsäljare har alltid kännetecknats av att ha ett mobilt arbetssätt där kundkontakt tillhör vardagen och god planering är vitalt. HILTI är ett verktygstillverkande företag som nyligen infört ett mobilt IS-stöd i förhoppning om att underlätta med bland annat planering för fältsäljarna. En explorativ undersökning av företaget har genomförts för att få en uppfattning, utifrån fältsäljarens perspektiv, hurvida denna upplever att yrkesrollen förändrats vid införandet av ett mobilt informationssystem. Insamling av data har utförts med hjälp av semistrukturerade intervjuer för att få en tydlig bild av de förändringar som försäljaren upplever anmärkningsbara. Resultatet visar att systemet bidragit till direkta förändringar i försäljarens yrkesroll.

När vi har varit ute i olika skolor har vi sett tydliga spår hos elever att deras intresse för matematik minskar ju högre upp i åldrarna eleverna kommer. Vi har även observerat många olika typer av lärare och undervisningsstilar. Syftet med arbetet är därför att titta närmare på hur intresset ser ut i två klasser i årskurs sex på två olika skolor samt titta på vilka faktorer som påverkar intresset hos eleverna. För att ta reda på detta har vi utfört enkätundersökningar i de olika klasserna. Utifrån svaren från enkäterna valde vi ut fyra elever i varje klass för intervjuer, hälften som enligt enkäterna tyckte om matematikämnet och hälften som inte tyckte om det.

Quadrotor UAVs are self-stabilizing, autonomous flying machines that has recently become more popular than ever. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles have their roots in the military, where they were developed for use in reconnaissance and combat. During the last few years, advances in the fields of electronic sensors, electric motors and microcontrollers have enabled smaller designs and autonomic flight control even for private use. The quadrotor, which is the particular kind of UAV we are looking closer at in this paper, has 4 rotors in an X-like formation. This configuration has many advantages such as good lift capacity, non-complex mechanical structure and serviceability.In this project we aquired a current overview of the domain and determine whether it is possible to construct a quadrotor UAV designed for use in a WISENET sensor network on a low budget and short time schedule.Based on existing community project AeroQuad, a quadrotor is constructed with a budget of about 500 euro.

Scrum är ett agilt ramverk för projekthantering, tänkt att effektivisera systemutvecklingsarbete och maximera affärsnyttan, bland annat genom användadet av roller, så som en icke detaljstyrande projektledare (ScrumMaster), en engagerad produktägare (Product Owner), och en självständig systemutvecklargrupp med ett brett spektrum av färdigheter (Scrum Team). I följande uppsats ämnar vi att undersöka hur ett Scrum Team och deras arbete blir påverkade av att vara delaktiga i en Scrumimplementering. För att åstadkomma detta har vi genomfört en fallstudie med kvalitativa intervjuer, direktobservationer i arbetsmiljö samt insamlande av dokument. Förutom dessa källor har vi genomfört en expertintervju med en av grundarna bakom Scrum, Jeff Sutherland. Våra fynd tyder på att förändringarna inkluderar en rad faktorer, så som samarbete, transparens och kommunikation, men framför allt en ökning i självbestämmande och självständighet, samt en ökning av kollektivt ansvarstagande.

Open source software has recently been discussed, not least in media as a revolution in IT. A number of advantages have been listed in changing proprietary software into open source software. Examples of such pros are no expenses for license fees and improved efficiency. In spite of this, few users have made this change. One of the reasons is a distrust of the quality in open source software.

Syftet med min studie har varit att undersöka om fritidshemmet kan utgöra en matematisk lärandemiljö. Jag har studerat vilka aktiviteter som kan eller skulle kunna bidra till att barn utvecklar grundläggande matematiska kunskaper. Dessutom har jag försökt identifiera hinder för fritidshemmet som matematisk lärandemiljö. För att undersöka detta har jag använt mig av deltagande observation som metod samt intervjuer. Datamaterialet har samlats in på två fritidshem i två olika kommuner.

Uppsatsen är ett resultat av en explorativ studie som tar sin utgångspunkt i att informationssystem i hög grad är situationsberoende, komplexa och abstrakta. Om en investering i ett IS ska bli framgångsrik krävs att hänsyn tas till fler faktorer än de som vanligtvis inkluderas i befintliga problemperspektiv. En sådan är beställarkompetens. Det saknas dock konceptualiseringar av begreppet vilket begränsar dess användningsområde, ur såväl ett vetenskapligt som ett praktiskt perspektiv. Uppsatsens centrala frågeställning är: Vilka kompetenser bör ingå i en beställarorganisation, både generellt för beställarprocessen i sin helhet men även specifikt för ingående faser? En litteraturstudie resulterar i en teorisyntes som främst vilar på beställningsprocessens faser och begreppet funktionell kompetens.

Styvéns (2007) påstående om att musik på grund av Internets framfart och ökad nedladdning i allt högre grad håller på att betraktas som en tjänst, med följden att den upplevs som mer abstrakt, har använts i kombination med Laroche et als (2001) definition av intangibility (här översatt till greppbarhet). Syftet har varit att få en ökad förståelse för vilken skillnad som finns i hur användare uppfattar CD-album respektive MP3-album, samt vilken betydelse denna skillnad har gällande attityder och beteende avseende musiknedladdning. I en Internetbaserad enkätundersökning fick informanter svara på frågor om greppbarhet och musiknedladdning, och samband dem emellan har undersökts. Enligt undersökningens resultat upplevde informanterna CD-album som betydligt mer greppbart än MP3-album. Däremot var resultaten angående vilken betydelse denna skillnad hade för informanternas beteende och attityder avseende musiknedladdning begränsade..

Syftet med arbetet är att undersöka hur lärare resonerar kring hur de arbetar med formativ bedömning och individanpassad undervisning i matematikundervisningen i grundskolan. Vi har därför undersökt detta område närmare genom en empirisk enkätstudie. Vårt urval har bestått av respondenter som dagligen möter denna problematik och som har erfarenheter inom området d.v.s. grundskollärare. Hälften av respondenterna hävdade att de individanpassade matematikundervisningen i stor utsträckning, resterande i måttlig eller liten utsträckning. Gällande frågan om formativ bedömning svarade omkring hälften av respondenterna att implementeringen av formativ bedömning sker i stor utsträckning och resterande i liten eller måttlig utsträckning.

This Master?s thesis presents a descriptive study of the intellectual process to describe images in such a way that they can be incorporated into written information systems. The purpose of the thesis is to concentrate on the scientific development for the last two decades, in the area concerning the description of images so that they can be organized and incorporated into information systems and possible to retrieve when searched for. Library and information science (LIS) has a strong tradition of turning to the iconographical theories of Erwin Panofsky and to semiotics according to Roland Barthes, for models and theories for the interpretation of images. The question for this thesis is whether LIS in this scientific field, has deviated from these models and theories, or are Panofsky and Barthes and their scientific work still providing for intellectual and practical guidance for LIS within this area..
