Technology evolves quickly, with innovative ideas growing everywhere. Still, no technology is anywhere near challenging the mouse and keyboard for navigation of your standard computer. This study focuses on comparing the traditional technologies of mouse and keyboard with the new technology of gestures - in this case Leap Motion - in purpose of finding how the usage differs and what the Potential users want from the competing technology. The experiment was executed in a controlled environment, with as few external factors as possible. We found that although the test subjects found Leap Motion fun, the test subjects do not want to surf the web with gestures.

The manufactory industry, due to decline in profit margins, is seeking new business opportunities by moving towards servitization and value-adding services in after-sales. We have therefore conducted a case study to investigate a manufacturing company in their current transformation towards servitization. By studying the management perspective, we aimed to understand how Information Technology, by adding value, could play a role in the transformation process. This study shows that information technology can take an integrating role, by supporting new value-adding services to provider and customer, as well as a co-creating role, where both provider and customer benefits by learning from each other, in the changing work process initiated by new services. The study has also shown that Information Technology, together with organization, information and people, are crucial components in the manufactory industry?s transformation towards servitization.  Furthermore, the study has also shown that the value chain has the Potential to drastically change due to the value-adding that the information technology brings to the progress of servitization..

This thesis investigates management accounting systems in a Swedish health care environment. Through a qualitative case study of an activity-based cost accounting system that was introduced in 1994 at S:t Görans Sjukhus, a large Stockholm hospital, the following questions are addressed: What benefits can an activity-based cost accounting system offer the Swedish health care providers? What are the Potential problems impeding the implementation of such a system? Main findings: an activity-based cost accounting system can improve the understanding of where costs are generated in the production processes. Comparisons between alternative production processes are improved, and the data may serve as a basis for internal pricing measures. Concerning the second question, difficulty in reconciliating the principles of economic control with the culture present in a hospital is identified as the main obstacle to a new management accounting system..

Att integrera IKT-verktyg i skolans verksamhet, och då specifikt interaktiva skrivtavlor, har blivit en allt vanligare företeelse för att främja elevers digitala kompetens. En kommun som har gjort en storskalig satsning på att integrera dessa interaktiva skrivtavlor är Linköpings och i dagsläget är varje klassrum i samtliga av deras grundskolor utrustade med en. Denna studie syftar till att ge en inblick i hur den satsningen har påverkat undervisningen ur ett lärarperspektiv, och då specifikt lärare i de naturvetenskapligt orienterande ämnena.Genom semistrukturerade intervjuer ämnar studien att sammanställa de förhållningssätt och erfarenheter lärare ger uttryck för gentemot de interaktiva skrivtavlorna. Studien avser att ge en uppfattning om vad lärare anser som betydelsefulla faktorer då en skola genomgår en satsning på interaktiva skrivtavlor i utbildningssyfte. Fokus ligger på begreppen möjligheter, svårigheter samt kunskaper och andra faktorer.Resultaten av denna studie visar att lärarna upplever de interaktiva skrivtavlorna som ett verktyg med Potential till att ge positiva effekter i undervisningen, och på flera sätt också har det.

With the advance of the modern information society, the importance of reliable identity authentication has increased dramatically. Using biometrics as a means for verifying the identity of a person increases both the security and the convenience of the systems. By using yourself to verify your identity such risks as lost keys and misplaced passwords are removed and by virtue of this, convenience is also increased. The most mature and well-developed biometric technique is fingerprint recognition. Fingerprints are unique for each individual and they do not change over time, which is very desirable in this application.

Sewer trenches usually contain material with a higher hydraulic conductivity then the adjacent soil. Thus they can serve as paths of preferential flow in a polluted area. Wastewater from factories can also leak from wastewater pipes and pollute the soil in the sewer trenches.The purpose of this project was to investigate pollutions in sewer trenches and in sewer pipes in the industrial area of Köpmanholmen, 20 km south of Örnsköldsvik in the north of Sweden. To make an estimation concerning the Potential of transport of pollutions in sewer trenches, hydrological calculations were performed.Leakage to any greater extent did not seem to be a problem in the area. This is the case both for the concrete and the wooden pipes that have served as factory wastewater pipes.

This essay examines possible maternal deaths in paleodemographic analyses and grave material by comparing three cemeteries: Nya L?d?se, Helgeandsholmen and V?sterhus. By comparing mortality patterns and burial practices, the aim is to investigate possible signs of obstetric care during medieval and early modern Sweden. The results show a higher death rate for adult women in all three burial places, indicating possible maternal deaths. Fetuses and small children were found in all cemeteries and Potential evidence of medical knowledge were found in Nya L?d?se.

Idrottens förmåga att bidra med positiva effekter för integration är omdiskuterad.Det finns både de som har stora förhoppningar på idrotten som enintegrationsfrämjare och de som är mer skeptiska när det kommer till idrottens roll iintegrationsprocessen. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie är att undersöka idrottensPotential att integrera invandrare i samhället samt att undersöka vilka hinder somfinns för att idrott ska fungera integrationsfrämjande. Studien bygger på en analys av12 vetenskapliga artiklar som alla behandlar relationen mellan idrott och integration.Resultatet av denna litteraturstudie visar att idrott kan bidra med positiva effekter förintegration, bland annat genom att erbjuda en mötesplats där relationer kan byggasöver kulturella gränser. Resultaten visar dock även att idrottsrörelsen inte är fri frånde spänningar som finns i samhället i stort och det är därför orimligt att tro att idrottenpå egen hand ska kunna bidra till att människor känner sig integrerade i samhället..

The agriculture in Sweden today uses chemical substances to control vermin, weed and diseases. This usage shows through polluted subsoil water and trace elements in the food we eat. There?s a risk that additional symptoms will arise in the future. Our product Sha Jun, developed in 2006-2007, is an attempt to try and minimize the need of chemicals in the agriculture. The idea started with the attempt to minimize the usage of pesticides on the cropland.

Syftet med denna undersökning är att studera det laborativa materialet vid namn Cuisenairestavar. Hur ska Cuisenairestavar användas enligt beskrivning i litteraturen? Hur används Cuisenairestavar i undervisningen? Hur förhåller sig det tänkta bruket från det faktiska bruket av dem i skolan? Jag har genomfört en fallstudie med litteraturstudier samt kvalitativa intervjuer. Data från referenskällorna har tematiserats, tolkats och jämförts. Resultatet av fallstudien har synliggjort att Cuisenairestavarna bör användas som ett relationsmaterial för att skapa förståelse för matematiska relationer och samband.

I uppsatsen undersöks förutsättningar och möjligheter för att genom Öresund Networks medlemsnätverk kommunicera varumärket Öresund till externa målgrupper. Nätverksmedlemmars uppfattningar och behov analyseras utifrån varumärkes- och nätverksteori. Det empiriska material som legat till grund för analysen har samlats in med kvalitativa intervjuer.Resultaten visar att varumärket har en positiv image hos nätverksmedlemmarna och att det finns goda förutsättningar för att kommunicera varumärket genom nätverket. Nätverket utnyttjas dock inte till sin fulla Potential och bör anpassas efter nätverksmedlemmarnas behov. Engagemanget för varumärket måste också höjas för att skapa ett starkt varumärke vilket är en förutsättning för att nätverksmedlemmarna ska kommunicera varumärket.

Denna studies syfte var att undersöka betydelsen av en neuropsykiatrisk utredning för föräldrars upplevelse av sitt barn. Semistrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med fem föräldrar vars barn genomgått en neuropsykiatrisk utredning på BUP i Umeå. Det transkriberade materialet analyserades med Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis förändring i föräldrarnas upplevelse av barnet efter utredningen. Föräldrarna upplevde att de fått förklaring, bekräftelse och ny kunskap samt en vidgad empatisk förståelse för barnets svårigheter. Utredningen såg till barnets svårigheter i sin helhet och föräldrarnas frågor och oro blev mötta.

This paper deals primarily with the developmental Potential and use of court -based mediation in Swedish law, and its relation to court-based conciliation and the judicial procedure as means to end a conflict.  In Chapter 42, Section 17 of the Swedish Code of Judicial Procedure, a judge, before the parties have their main hearing, can act as a mediator between the parties to settle the dispute. The judge should, according to the law, always try to make the parties come to an agreement before the main hearing. This obligation can be fulfilled either through the use of court-based conciliation, or court based mediation. Mediation as such is rarely used in Sweden, and one of the goals of this essay is to try to provide a tentative answer to why that might be the case.  The second goal is to try to find a consistent, yet flexible notion, of the concept of ?jurisdiction?, and to provide an explanation for the relation between mediation as an alternative method for dispute resolution and the judicial procedure.                                                                                                                                            .

Syftet med denna rapport är att undersöka om det går att utveckla en användbarwebbapplikation som underlättar resultathantering för vana gymutövare. Eftersomrapporten endast fokuserar på vana gymutövare, undkommer webbapplikationenproblemet med alldeles för mycket valmöjligheter som gör den osmidig. Vidareundersöks om webbapplikationen även kan motivera användaren till bättre prestationer.Webbapplikationen är utvecklad med hjälp av de grafiska gränssnittskomponenterna somSmart GWT tillhandahåller. Rapporten innehåller en teoretisk bakgrund till deutvecklingsverktyg som använts för att ta fram webbapplikationen.I resultatet framgår att det finns Potential att ta fram en fullt fungerande webbapplikationför vana gymutövare. I dagsläget går det dock inte att utvärdera webbapplikationen fulltut då den befinner sig i ett tidigt stadium av utvecklingsprocessen.

The purpose of this report was to investigate what characterizes a good psychosocialwork environment, and whether it may have impact on a vessel's safe voyage. Thisreport is proposed to increase the understanding of what creates a good psychosocialwork environment and its Potential effect on safety at sea. In order to find out thesuccess factors for a good work environment group interviews were conducted in socalledunstructured focus groups. During these conversations, the participants discussedfreely by the question "what is a good psychosocial work environment for you?? Thesuccess factors were thereafter applied on selected accident reports, to investigate theextent to which they were represented and taken into account.The results of the study show three categories of factors: colleagues, communicationand competence, where colleagues are the main contribution to a good psychosocialwork environment.
