The thesis is based on a case study of a Swedish discussion forum where survivalism and prepping is the main focus. The awareness of an abrupt and immanent breakdown together with a full and thorough preparation for any conceivable threat posed by that breakdown is what legitimizes survivalism and prepping. This preparation, or risk-proofing is 1) grounded in an isolation of the body and its predispositions from perceived risks, and 2) actualized through artefacts, theoretical and practical knowledge and awareness. Stories of the embodied survivalist are also stories of masculine and heterosexual subjects and ?the others?.

The overall purpose of this master essay is to investigate whether there is an interest among people near retirement to contribute with their knowledge and experience after they reach the defined retirement age. Furthermore, I would like to investigate if they want to continue with their old jobs, full time/part time or to do something else, which is beneficial to the society. I also want to find out how the older people view themselves to continuing to work. Also which types of social and structural barriers that might exist for them and why. The aim is also to investigate what types of knowledge and experience they believe could be used in the future community.

The essay is about pensioners who are working out at a gym. My starting point is the research program "Culture of ageing? and the theory that pensioners in the post- and late modern society conquer new potential areas. I am studying the meeting between pensioners and the gym. How the pensioners conquer the gym, relate to their training and what makes them stay after the first introduction.

Diet and lifestyle are closely interrelated and believed to have a significant influence on four major public diseases - cardiovascular disease, cancer, hypertension and obesity, but also affects functional deficiencies like gluten- and lactose intolerance. Health added-value foods are thought to reduce health-related risks or delay the onset of these major diseases. Therefore, interest among scientists, researchers and the public in general has been growing remarkably over the last decade regarding these special foods. The Swedish market seems to be a good target for health added-values food. However, as there are many risks and cost factors involved for companies to enter the market or invest in R&D, it is important to take a step back and analyze the current market situation.

Addressing increasing global environmental problems requires greater resource efficiency, and one way of working towards this is through industrial symbiosis. Industrial symbiosis means that companies collaborate through sharing of resources for collective benefits. The documented benefits of working with industrial symbiosis indicate that there is potential for companies to operate commercially with facilitation of industrial symbiosis. An interesting company to study within this context is Econova. Econova operates within the recycling and gardening industry and has been identified as a possible catalyst for industrial symbiosis.

This essay studies the funnel-beaker ceramic in connection with the megalith graves in South Scandinavia. In my work I have described the nature of ceramics and looked on the crockery types and ornamentation and then discussed the use of the material in a ritual perspective. In the first part I have focused on the critical aspects you have to think about when you do a study like this one. In the second part of this essay I have done a case study, with the ceramic material, in three passages graves in the area of Falbygden, Western Sweden and studied the ceramic material and the nature of it in South Scandinavia as well. Then in the third I discussed the potential use, there is two, of the ceramic material in general of South Scandinavia and looked at it in a ritual perspective..

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the relationship between urban transformation and the occupation movement in Sweden, aiming to identify the movement's characteristics and comprehend its changes over time. By analyzing qualitative material collected from occupants active within a span from the 1980 to the present, we examine how the occupation movement has evolved. We investigate the motivations behind the movement, the lifestyle of occupants, and their potential gains to get a better understanding of the culture. We explore the prefigurative politics of the resistance where occupant activists create alternative lifestyles aligned with their desired future, bypassing the wait for broader societal changes. Finally we inquire the current possibilities of creating and defending meaningful urban spaces and social scenes..

Transcending sound design is possible. There are unseen possibilities and a great potential for improvement and development in sound and music design ? but there is a great difficulty penetrating the obstacles that lies in the way for such development to take place and to exist. The difficulties in being negotiable and productive lies more within the limits of the audience it has to gain, than in itself. It is as though music and sound design has to evolve very slowly, in an almost evolutionary style; one step at a time, to be accepted.

The study focus on the development of the bilateral relationship between India and the United States and the Next Step in Strategic Partnership (NSSP) from 2004 and the change in U.S. approach to India's neuclear program. Hjorthagen är en stadsdel som idag inrymmer 2000 invånare men i och med att området expanderar så planeras här 5000 nya bostäder, skolor, arbetsplatser och en ny idrottsanläggning. En idrottsanläggning besitter stor potential till att vara en samlingsplats för ett helt samhälle. En plats att mötas för barn och ungdomar, för deras föräldrar och mor/far- föräldrar. Aktiviteterna och deltagarna kan variera men med den gemensamma nämnaren fysisk aktivitet och samvaro. Utgångspunkten för idrottscentret i Hjorthagen är platsens förutsättningar, de två platåerna, stråken, existerande fotbollsplaner och den slående utsikten ner mot Ferdinad Bogers gasklockor.

Uppsatsens syfte är att visa på olika sätt att se på den sociala dokumentationen inom fältet boendestöd och att exemplifiera vad social dokumentation kan vara. Resultatet visar att social dokumentation sker i ett sammanhang och variationen mellan olika boendestöd är stor. Strax öster om Göteborgs Centralstation, i stadsdelen Gullbergsvass, ligger Gullberget och Skansen Lejonet. Platsen har varit befäst sedan medeltiden och vittnar om förutsättningarna alldeles i början av stadens tillblivelse. Skansen uppfördes i slutet på 1600-talet som en del i ett omfattande befästningsverk. Från att då varit belägen i stadens periferi har expansionen förflyttat den till centrum. Idag utgör den ett isolerat landmärke, omgärdat av tung infrastruktur. Anläggningen är kulturminnesmärkt och innehar ett högt bevarandevärde. Min uppfattning är dock att den hyser potential bortom det.

In Sweden everyone has the possibility to report deficiencies in animal welfare they encounter. They report this to the county administration in their county and such a report is called a complaint case. Complaint cases are normally handled with animal welfare inspections, carried out by animal welfare inspectors from the county administration in the county where the animal keeper with reported deficiencies lives. The county administrations in Sweden receive a lot of complaint cases that differ in grade of how severe the deficiency is. The complaint cases are given priority by how severe the deficiency seems to be.

I dagens snabbt föränderliga samhälle är coaching ett begrepp, som blir allt vanligare både i individuella och organisatoriska sammanhang. Coaching är en kreativ process som hjälper individen eller organisationen att utvecklas och maximera sin potential för att nå önskade mål. Syftet med denna studie var att få en förståelse av enskilda individers subjektiva upplevelser och erfarenheter som de anser sig ha nytta av efter en specifik kurs i Personlig Coaching. Halvstrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med de två ansvariga coacherna samt fyra kursdeltagare. Materialet analyserades enligt induktiv tematisk analys.

Modern sawmills are using the raw-material and the production-capacity more efficiently today, due to rising raw-material prices and higher production costs. Log sweepness has a negative effect on the sawn yield, for sawmills with straight-sawing. It is desirable that these logs could be sorted based on more criteria, if it increases value-yield and consequently the utilization of raw-material. Bow-heights over 1 cm have a negative effect on sawn yield, since the surface of the mantle cuts down in the sawn pattern. Some of these small bow-heights reduce the logs yield of value which affects the production planning negatively. Nearly half of all the Swedish logs have a bow-height over 1 cm.
