This essay concerns the fantastic and its position in narration. The fantastic's defintion is based on Martin Horstkotte's defintion in The Postmodern Fantastic and the essay focuses on the noncontextual aspects such as the clash between two incompatible fictional worlds and the absence created. Karismatik och reflektion i högmoderniteten : En kvalitativ intervjustudie med tre medlemmar i New Life församling, Stockholm

Uppsatsen försöker utröna om flickboken kommit tillbaka i ny skepnad och i sÄ fall vilka drag Àr nya och vilka som finns kvar frÄn den tidigare flickboken. I teoridelen avhandlas flickbokens historia, bemötandet i form av egen genre och flickboken jÀmförd med pojkboken. I empiridelen analyseras sex skönlitterÀra verk, samtliga utgivna under Ären 2003 eller 2004 och skrivna av svenska kvinnliga författare. Resultatet visar att flickboken Àr pÄ vÀg tillbaka och att den har kommit som en modernisering av den tidigare flickboken. Flickböckerna riktar sig till högstadieelever och fyller det tomrum som tidigare funnits i identifikationsprocessen, men framförallt arbetar litteraturen med att höja flickornas sjÀlvförtroende och sjÀlvkÀnsla.

The aim with this thesis is to study how the phenomenon young people who run away from home (runaways) is presented in the research literature. The question at issue in our thesis is: How does research literature present the phenomenon of young people who run away from home? We have selected seven primary documents that we consider gives a broad picture of the knowledge about runaways. We have a postmodern and a hermeneutic approach in our thesis. Our material has been analyzed on the basis of social constructionist theory and the new sociological paradigm of childhood.

Abstrakt konst idag : En studie av Ann Edholm och Jacob Dahlgrens förhÄllande till modernismen

This paper presents an approach in contemporary, abstract art for a new way of experiencing modernist abstraction. This has not been possible until now, about 40 years after the postmodern turn against modernism in art, and the closely connected formalism. This new approach is represented in this paper by the Swedish contemporary artists Ann Edholm and Jacob Dahlgren. Modernist artists such as Kasimir Malevich and Piet Mondrian receives a new relevance to contemporary abstract art. This opens up for a new, more complex and more dialectical understanding and re-evaluation of modernism and its abstract art.This is shown by a historical and chronological investigation which highlights modernist abstract art, formalism, and the critical and post-modern Neo-geometric ?abstraction? of the eighties.

This study investigates the internet habits of students in the Swedish gymnasium. The part that internet plays in their lives and their attitude towards the educational system is reflected upon the philosophical background that stretches from Kant to postmodern philosophers such as Baudrillard. The aim is to create knowledge about how the social aspects of the internet affects their concepts of reality and their own and others identities. The method used for the collection of empirical data has been semi-structured interviews, preformed with students in a Swedish gymnasium. The data is then interpreted against the theoretical and philosophical background.

Ett universellt sanningskriterium i en pluralistisk verklighet : Ann-Louise Erikssons och Jayne Svenungssons strÀvan efter en nödvÀndig omöjlighet

Socialt arv i en postmodern vÀrld : En studie om gymnasieelevers syn och uppfattning av eftergymnasiala studier

The purpose of this paper is to examine how four teachers treats and teaches aboutxenophobia and right-wing extremism. A further aim of this study is to investigate whetherthere are any differences in how a teacher at a vocational high school treat and teachabout xenophobia and right-wing extremism against the teacher at a preparatory school, theydo. To achieve my purpose I have used qualitative interviews of semi-structuredform.These interviews were done with two social studies teacher at a vocational high schooland two social studies teacher at a preparatory school.My results show that teachers all too often respond to xenophobic views directly into theclassroom by reasoning and discussions with students. In my resault is also evident thatthere is a big difference between the teachers at the schools how much time you devoteto xenophobia and right-wing extremism in teaching.The conclusions show that these differences largely depend on which group of students thatteachers have.The conclusions will also be that there are great similarities between the way teachers reasonabout how to deal with xenophobia and the means to do, they also are relatively similar..

Ett omöjligt uppdrag? Konstruktioner av lÀraryrket i LÀrarförbundets facktidning

This study sets out to investigate how the roll of the teacher is constructed in the Swedish Teachers? Unions trade publication. Based on the theory of social constructionism we have used the method of critical discourse analysis to establish dominant trends and patterns in how the roll of teacher is constructed in editorials in Swedish LĂ€rarnas Tidning. We have established that the conflict between a modernist school tradition and a postmodern society has resulted in a dominant, traditional teacher discourse which is being simultaneously challenged by both a market-orientated discourse and a professionalization discourse. Furthermore, we attempt to highlight how these ?ideal? constructions can create problems in terms of identity construction for teachers.
