Tjejers otrygghet - en klassfråga? : En studie av relationen mellan den faktiska utsattheten och upplevelsen av otrygghet hos unga tjejer.

This paper focuses on the relationship between actual victimization and perceived fear of crime among young women aged 18-20 years. Previous studies shows that women are more afraid of becoming a victim of crime than men, even though studies shows that men are victims of crime to a greater extent than women. The purpose of this paper was to examine women?s fear of becoming a victim of crime from a class perspective. To investigate this, we interviewed 16 young women aged 18-20 years with both working class and middle class backgrounds.

Kjoltyg och magiska skönhetsunder: en jämförande diskursanalys av hur journalisterna på Slitz och Veckorevyn representerar kvinnan

The purpose of this study is to compare how the male journalists of the Slitz magazine and the female journalists of Veckorevyn represent the female sex. Slitz is dominated by sensual, sexy pictures of women. The texts describe the women on the basis of the journalists opinions. The women themselves do not get the same opportunities as the journalists to tell the readers who they are. Slitz magazine objectify women, they seem to be aware of it and do not hide their purpose.

En diskursanalys av föreställningar kring vulvavestibulit hos tre intervjuade kvinnor med vulvavestibulit

In the paper three women with vulvar vestibulitis (long-term pain condition during sexual intercourse) were interviewed to find which conceptions the women experience exist about vestibulitis and how the women they self feel about the condition. Furthermore it was examined if and how the construction of vulvar vestibulitis affects the identity of the women. The method used was half-structured interviews with interview guide. Foucault's discourse analysis was used to analyse the interviews. Several constructions of vestibulitis were revealed from the interviews.

The urban physical practice of parkour can be described as male dominated. In thispaper, however, I choose to focus on women participating in the sport. My materialconsist of interviews with five Swedish women who regularly perform parkour.Through the phenomenology of Simone de Beauvoir, Iris Marion Young and SaraAhmed, I analyze the women?s relationship to the body and (public) space. Myconclusion is that engaging in parkour has changed the way the women understandtheir own corporeality, from an ?I cannot? to an ?I can?.

Body image in women with breastcancerBreast cancer is the second most common form of cancer in Sweden today. To get a breast cancer diagnose can be a traumatic experience for many women. It´s difficult to forsee how these women are going to control their situation. When a breast has to be removed because of cancer, the women has to adjust to changes in both physical and phychological aspects. The aim of this study was to elucidate body image in women with breast cancer after a mastectomy.

The study is based on two questions: What does"honor" mean to the three generations of women who are Muslim and Kurdish? Did these three generations of women?s idea of honor change over time as they have lived in Sweden? Results of this study have shown that the concept of honor has its focus on the woman's body, sexuality and chastity.

This research paper studied how women in the sports of snowboarding and freeskiing perceived their possibilities to practice their own sports. Furthermore, the study tried to answer if the problems are originated from the culture of the sports, what the possibilities and opportunities women had to make ?it? and what women think is the reason why there are so few female athletes in their sports.

The aim of this qualitative study was to explore which inner conceptions about the abused older women the professional social workers had and how they experienced the enconter of an abused old woman in an intimate partner relation. The theoretical background is social construction by Berger and Luckmann. This theory was uset to analyze the transcribed interviews. This study is based on nine interviews with five professionals in social services, three volunteers from the voluntary sector and one social worker who worked in a community based support group for abused older women. The result of this study shows that older women were often abused, by a relative they were dependent on, in their home.

The aim of this study is to explain in what ways and why women are regarded as poorer than men.The definition of poverty has expanded and is now multidimensional. In order to answer the aim of this thesis the following dimensions will be included and work as a theory in which the analysis will be structured after. Through a gender perspective, will the role of woman emerge through a multidimensional definition of poverty. If the balance is a negative in these dimensions, the situation for women will worsen and become permanent.
