AbstractIn this theory-testing case study I will analyze and discuss the Gulf War which took place in the Middle East in 1990-1991 and has become an important topic for discussion among IR scholars in the post-Cold War era. The events that led up to the Gulf War, as well as the war itself, will be analyzed from two different perspectives; Realism and Liberalism. Within these differing theoretical frameworks I have chosen to use elements from, on the one hand, Classical and Structural Realism, and on the other hand, Idealism and Liberal Institutionalism. Focusing on these specific schools of thought I aim to derive essential, ?key?, concepts that will then be tested against empirical fact.The overall purpose of this study is to try to logically explain, through detailed analysis, the actions of the actors involved in the Gulf War and, in addition, why this war ever occurred.

The aim of this study is to investigate the discourses of widening recruitment to higher education in some political documents from the 21st century. The scientific method applied is critical discourse analysis as developed by Norman Fairclough. This implies the analyses of the actual texts, the social practice as well as the discursive practice, i.e. the conditions under which the texts are produced, distributed and consumed.The major results include four discourses: a post-modern discourse, a neoliberal economic discourse, a political discourse of multi-culturalism and a modern discourse with its roots in the 20th century?s discussions about social imbalance in recruitment to higher education.

BakgrundInom den palliativa vården anammas ett holistiskt synsätt, vilket innebär att fokus ligger på såväl fysiska, psykiska, sociala som existentiella aspekter i patientens livsvärld. Tre grundläggande psykiska behov, autonomi, möjligheter och sammanhang är essentiella i upplevelsen av psykisk hälsa. Även önskningar, värderingar och mål bidrar till patientens psykiska välbefinnande. Det har tidigare visat sig att patienters psykiska behov inte tillgodoses och sjuksköterskor inom den palliativa vården brustit i förmågan att uppmärksamma dessa behov. SyfteSyftet med studien var att beskriva patienters psykiska behov inom den palliativa vården.

Bakgrund: Otillräckligt behandlad postoperativ smärta kan vara ett problem för patienten. Smärtupplevelsen är komplex, vilket gör att det kan vara svårt för sjuksköterskan att adekvat bedöma och registrera patientens smärta post-operativt. Sjuksköterskan måste i kontakten med patienten vara lyhörd, öppen och följsam. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att belysa hur sjuksköterskan uppmärksammar den vuxne patientens smärta postoperativt. Metod: En litteraturstudie med åtta artiklar har genomförts med deduktiv kvalitativ ansats.

Levnads- och arbetsförhållanden har i mindre svenska småorter under det senaste seklet genomgått stora förändringar. Fjelie, den lilla byn i sydvästra Skåne var i början på seklet ett aktivt jordbrukssamhälle med egen järnvägsstation, lanthandel, smed, post och skola. Idag finns få spår av detta bevarat och Fjelie ger ett stillsamt intryck för den besökande. Syftet med examensarbetet är att undersöka Fjelies identitet och fysiska karaktär. Vidare undersöker vi möjligheter för att öka attraktiviteten och utvecklingen av byn.

Vertical jumping ability is an essential skill in many sports. The aim of this study wasto investigate the acute effects of assisted jumps on subsequent countermovementjump (CMJ) performance by female athletes. Nine healthy, trained female subjectsvolunteered to participate in the study. In a randomized order, they performed oneregular warm up protocol before testing their CMJ baseline value, and one warm upprotocol with an addition of five assisted jumps at 30% body weight reduction beforeanother CMJ test. Male violence against women in close relations has in recent years received increased attention, however, only identified as a problem in approximately 40 years. It is now a social problem that is constantly increasing, but the identification of the phenomenon has been possible thanks to the research on the subject. The purpose of this study is to, from a woman's own story, identify psychological processes in connection with the assault. The aim is also to confirm previous research on the phases of the abused go through until decampment and identify possible consequences of violence against women. I also aim to answer the question regarding the assistance of individuals in extreme situations while getting back to society.

BackgroundThe lifeworld describes the experience of being a humanbeing, how we experience life and how we live our lifes. When a disease, such as depression occurs, the whole lifeworld can be filled with suffering. Depression is an affective disease, which means it involves the emotions. The patient gets dejected and the emotional devotion abates. Broken sleep, anxiety, pain, concentrations difficulties, fatigue and reduced appetite is some of the symptoms.

Syfte: Mobbning har en tendens att uppträda inom skolverksamheten, vilket har resulterat i ett arbete mot mobbning. Undersökningens syfte är att klargöra mobbningens förekomst inom högskolans IT ? stödda textkommunikations undervisning och vilka uttryck den ter sig i. Metod: Denna uppsats har en hermeneutisk ansats. Här studeras delarna för att få en bättre förståelse och kunskap om helheten.

Introduktion. Endometrios är en inflammatorisk, kronisk östrogenberoende sjukdom i endometriet. Symtom kan vara smärta, dysparenui, infertilitet och minskad prestationsförmåga på grund av tröttheten. Det är svårt att ställa diagnos då endometrios kan vara svårupptäckt på grund av ospecifika symtomen. Syfte.

The aim of this essay is to analyse young peoples view and thoughts about women. I have studied how young people ?create women? in an opinion poll about love relations and relationships.The survey has been answered by high school student in a suburb in Stockholm. My main question is: What conceptions of the women are presented in love relationships and relationships in general?To analyse the data, I have used a qualitative method which means that I have tried to understand and interpret their answers.

Syftet med studien var att beskriva ambulanspersonalens självskattning/upplevelse av smärta i rygg, leder och muskler samt sömn, vila och återhämtning. Ytterligare ett syfte var att undersöka om det finns några skillnader i nämnda besvär relaterat till kön och yrkeskategori. Data samlades in med enkäter och personal vid fyra ambulansstationer i Mellansverige deltog i studien. Sammanlagt delades 110 enkäter ut och 89 enkäter besvarades (svarsfrekvens 81 %). Resultatet avseende själskattad smärta visade att 53 personer (59,6 %) uppgav att de hade haft ländryggsbesvär de senaste 12 månaderna.

Introduktion: När någon i en familj drabbas av en stroke är det inte ovanligt att någon annan i familjen blir anhörigvårdare. Det är inte endast individen som drabbas av en stroke som påverkas utan hela familjen berörs av sjukdomen. Syftet var att belysa anhörigvårdares upplevelser av att vårda en nära anhörig efter en stroke. Metod: Allmän litteraturstudie. Baserad på 11 vetenskapliga artiklar som söktes i databaserna, CINAHL och PubMed.

Organizational culture is a widely discussed topic. Today job mobility in society is increasing as well as part-time employment. This study aims at investigate how organizational culture is maintained in an organization where employees work as combiners of different work occupations. The study is a case study of the department of Art at Konstfack (The University College of Arts, Crafts and Design). The organization is unique in the respect to that the majority of the employees have part-time employments within Konstfack combined with their parallel own artistic occupations.
