This study is based on interviews with six students from Stockholm that have shared their feelings/opinions about how they experience their identity as a student. The aim of this master?s thesis is to examine how the identity of students is constructed but also how the post modern society affects the life that the students are living. With a higher demand on education and responsibility of making the right decisions, the student?s main concern is not only her studies, but also the goal to succeed in her life.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att få en bild av på vilket sätt informations- och kommunikationsteknologier (IKT) används och hur dessa teknologier stödjer studenternas samarbete på distans. Vi har genomfört en fallstudie på Luleå tekniska universitetet på avdelningen för Systemvetenskap. Denna studie utfördes från ett användarperspektiv. Resultatet av undersökningen visar bland annat att de flesta studenter föredrar att arbeta med uppgifterna självständigt. När studenterna samarbetar väljer de ett kooperativt sätt framför ett kollaborativt.

The main focus of this study was to investigate how Swedish military veterans experience that events during an international service affect them after completed mission. This also includes the contact with their relatives. Secondly, this study deals with the course of the crisis, personal defense mechanisms, cumulative stress and post-traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD).The study was performed using a qualitative method and comprises individual interviews with six Swedish veterans. The responders were all men of different military positions, who participated in one or more international missions during 1993 to 2011.The results of this study show that, according to the veterans, the return back home is the most strenuous part of an international mission. With all the new experiences that an international service brings fresh in their memories, it is hard to re-adjust to the life of a civilian.In connection with the return back home, different degrees of stress reactions were also commonly seen, for example sleep disturbance, restlessness and exhaustion.

This thesis focuses on how companies in the textile and clothing industry view or interpret the idea of corporate social responsibility. The purpose of the study is to create an understanding for how this view affects the dissemination and the implementation of the idea in the organization and what might be the effects on the organization of those processes. In order to identify any differences in how the view affected the processes I have studied the current discourse on CSR simultaneously with my theory and conducted a comparative case study of two Swedish clothing brands. The theory focuses on the diffusion of ideas and change management within organizations. My data shows that the two companies have different ways of interpreting CSR and that this indeed affects their dissemination of the idea in the organization.

1990 Sweden ratified the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, with 54 rights. The Convention on the Rights of the Child does not apply as law in Sweden. However, all countries that have ratified the convention, has an obligation to implement the convention in all decision making and practical management that includes children. The purpose of the study is to examine the implementation of the convention in relation to unaccompanied refugee children on a state, municipal and non-profit level by using three actors. The actors are the Swedish immigration service, Stockholm social service and the NGO Save the Children.

Organisationer idag använder ofta flera olika kommunikationskanaler vilket underlättar kommunikationen, eller gör det verkligen det? Syftet med studien är att beskriva och analysera hur personal på olika nivåer i en organisation upplever kommunikationen i den egna organisationen samt att identifiera möjliga förbättringar av denna kommunikation.  Följande frågeställningar ställdes för att kunna besvara studiens syfte; Hur upplever medarbetare, mellanchefer och personalchefen att e-post och intranät som kommunikationskanal inom organisationen fungerar idag? Hur upplever medarbetare, mellanchefer och personalchefen att den muntliga och direkta kommunikationen inom organisationen fungerar idag? Hur upplever medarbetare, mellanchefer och personalchefen att kommunikationskanalerna e-post, intranät samt muntlig och direkt kommunikation kan förbättras inom organisationen? Studien genomfördes med en kvalitativ ansats i form av åtta intervjuer med en personalchef, tre mellanchefer och fyra medarbetare i en facklig organisation. Den här studien visar flera likvärdiga resultat som vid tidigare forskning. Personalen upplever att kommunikationen genom kommunikationskanalerna e-post, intranät samt muntlig och direkt kommunikation fungerar ganska bra/bra inom organisationen. I studien framkom att det är den muntliga och direkta kommunikationen som fungerar bäst inom organisationen.

Risk management is a key competency that is constantly being researched how it can be improved within project management. The risk management process consists of four major steps: identify risks, assess the risks? significance on the project, evaluate and address the key risks and follow up.The majority of companies seem to neglect certain identified risks, and decide not to mitigate if the risk does not cause adverse effects to the business. To counteract undesirable consequences and help organisations to become more effective at managing risks an initial work has been conducted for a risk repository.The project develops a proposal on the design of a risk repository which aim to effectively support a database implementation. The study includes literature studies which resulted in a relational model for database implementation.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att studera konstprojektet och bloggen ?Post A Secret? utifrån ett bekännelseperspektiv i allmänhet och ?Post A Secret? som en ny typ av bekännelse i synnerhet. Projektet baseras på att individer anonymt skriver ner en hemlighet på ett egenhändigt gjorda vykort och skickar in till skaparen Frank Warren som publicerar dem på hemsidan. Den tidigare forskningen behandlar två övergripande teman; bekännelse och Internet. Dessa får stort utrymme i uppsatsen på grund av att projektet är en kombination av flera olika medier och infallsvinklar och behöver förstås utifrån den kontext i vilket det konstrueras.

I det här arbetet har jag undersökt möjligheten att synkronisera lagrad kalenderdata mellan två olika system.Mitt arbete beskriver ett API, som i ena änden kommunicerar med Xcerion Baxide-Web Services, och i den andra änden med en mobil enhet med implementerat stöd för Exchange ActiveSync (t.ex. en iPhone eller Android).Med hjälp av Exchange ActiveSync-protokollet kan man synkronisera bland annat kalender, kontakter, e-post, anteckningar och påminnelser mellan flera klienter genom en Exchange Server. Dock hamnade all implementation utöver kalendersynkronisationen av Exchange ActiveSync redan från början utanför examensarbetets ramar.Microsoft tillhandahåller en mycket detaljerad dokumentation över Exchange ActiveSyncprotokollet. Dessutom, bland annat med hjälp av Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 och programmetWireShark kunde trafiken från en redan fungerande implementation av protokollet avlyssnas.Kommunikationen mellan en klient och en Exchange Server kan antingen ske över HTTP eller HTTPS där data transporteras kodat i WBXML. Av säkerhetsskäl är det dock rekommenderat att en Exchange Server inte tillåter trafik över HTTP.Innan själva implementationen analyserades protokollets struktur samt vilka nödvändiga metoder som behövdes för kalendersynkronisationen.

Purpose: This study deals with warehouse management with an emphasis on vertical lift modules (VLM). The aim is to examine the effect of the implementation of VLM on a business's warehouse management. In order to obtain a result, the study has been based on the following questions:? How was the warehouse management designed before the implementation of VLM?? How is warehouse management designed after the implementation of VLM?Method: To be able to answer these questions, interviews with ten users of VLM performed. All users usually lift systems from the same manufacturer.

This Master's Thesis describes the design of a new system where a digital signal processor has been added to an existing imaging system consisting of field programmable gate arrays. The new system will offer a higher degree of flexibility by considerably shortening the design time and make it possible to implement more complex algorithms than the existing ones. The choice of system architecture and a test implementation are discussed. The test implementation consists of a program for the digital signal processor and VHDL code for one of the field programmable gate arrays. The code for the digital signal processor was designed for testing on an evaluation board from Texas Instruments.

This thesis presents the implementation of a knowledge base system for rough sets [Paw92]within the logic programming framework. The combination of rough set theory with logic programming is a novel approach. The presented implementation serves as a prototype system for the ideas presented in [VDM03a, VDM03b]. The aim of this thesis is to investigate the understanding of classification as it is manifested in the discussion of implementing DDC in the BIBSAM-libraries. This is accomplished through the answering of three questions: 1. How does the discussion go about the implementation of DDC in the "Cataloguing practises: a survey of Swedish research libraries" project?2. Have there been any criticism against the project or the implementation and, in that case, what does it say?3.

The aim of this essay is to study the decision making process and implementation of the principle of political participation and influence for Roma minority in Sweden. The results regarding the decision making process is structured through a discourse influenced policy analyses. Problem picture and recommended measures in the political documents representing the decision making process are analysed through theories of minority rights and equality. The implementation is seen through, by the author given minority discourse and the work in the roma council and analysed by the same theories already mentioned.The results show that regarding the decision process the aim of art.15 in the framework convention is based on the idea of equality while the Swedish documents relates more to an idea of the right to speak for the group. Regarding recommended measures, the framework convention gives several recommendations on specific measures for political participation while the Swedish documents focuses on the general politics of the state.

The aim of the study was to examine prerequisites for the changes that are taking place within working with Intimate Partner Violence in Västra Hisingen (a municipal district in Gothenburg, Sweden). My research questions concerned incentives for the new features, their practical consequences and prerequisites for implementation. The study has been performed by three focus group interviews with different parts of the organization represented. The work material has then been analyzed using Implementation Theory, Human Service Organization Theory and theories on breaking up. The study showed that all respondents were motivated to perform the changes, but also that there were significant differences between the groups? conceptions of what implementation demands, and of the organizational support today.
