During pre-slaughter handling of pigs the animals are often subjected to methods that induces stress and are a threat to the wellbeing of the animals, such as mixing of groups, loud noise and transportation. A new law will be implemented in 2006 in Sweden that prohibits mechanical noise exceeding 65 dB in abattoirs. The purpose of the research presented in this paper was to examine the effects of noise and transportation on pig behaviour. The activity and aggressiveness of the pigs were examined with behavioural studies during transportation and during three different noise levels: 55, 75 and 95 dB. Before the noise treatments took place the groups were mixed and half of them were transported for approximately 2 hours. In the study 432 pigs were used.

The purpose of this thesis is to give an understanding of how grocery stores relate to local foods. Through a case study representatives for two groceries in Norrbotten have been interviewed regarding why they supply local foods, how they try to influence customers to buy this, and how they decide upon the assortment of local foods. The result shows that groceries supply local foods in order to supply a wide range of products and to mediate social responsibility, in order to create customer loyalty. Concerning how the groceries try to influence customers to buy local foods the result cannot give any clear-cut view. Instead it shows that a grocery that actively works to influence customers to buy local foods markets them in specific ways, while the opposite applies to a grocery that does not actively work for this.

The purpose of this essay is to examine what can be considered as obscene in the work of JoelPeter Witkin and Marc Quinn, what the similarities and differences are. The essay concerns thehuman body, the norms around it and the old vision of the ideal body. To get closer to myquestion I’ve been examine the meaning of anti-ideal, what it means and what kind of history ithas. The works I’ve been using to reach to my purpose are Marc Quinn’s sculpture Alison Lapper(2005) and Joel Peter Witkin’s photography Abundance (1997). Both of the works are taking theposition that use to belong to the classical beauty.

Syftet med denna marknadsundersökning var att undersöka vilka egenskaper de norska bygghandlarna värdesätter hos en leverantör av trävaror, samt att utvärdera SCA Timbers konkurrenssituation på denna marknad. Marknadsundersökningen innefattade först litteraturstudier i ämnet marknadsföring. Utifrån litteraturstudierna konstruerades två frågeformulär därefter genomfördes undersökningen ute bland bygghandlarna genom kundbesök. Resultatet visar att de norska bygghandlarna främst värdesätter pålitlighet, flexibilitet och prestanda hos en leverantör av trävaror. Konkurrensanalysen visar att SCA är bättre än konkurrenterna på att leverera produkter med bra kvalitet till konkurrenskraftiga priser.

I animation för film kan regissören ändra kameravinkel för att en karaktärs känslor ska förmedlas på ett tydligt. i ett spel har ofta spelaren kontroll över kamerans position men kan i vissa fall inte ändra kameravinkeln. I det här arbetet undersöks om en spelkaraktärs rörelser måste överdrivas mer i ett spel som använder Free Roaming Camera än i ett spel som använder First Person Perspective. En karaktär i ett tänkt spel animerades med olika grad av överdrift för att förmedla ilska. Animationerna visades sedan för ett antal informanter som fick bedöma hur trovärdiga de upplevde animationerna samt ange vilket sinnestillstånd de upplevde att karaktären hade.

Denna undersöknings syfte är att redogöra för den finlandssvenska satirens skildring av språkstriden i Finland under mellankrigstiden. Huvudkällan för detta ändamål är skämttidningen Garm som innehar en unik position i den finska skämtpressens historia. Genom att analysera tidskriftens årgångar från perioderna 1927-1931 och 1934-1939 besvaras frågan: ?Hur representeras språkstriden i relation till finlandssvensken??. Det läggs vikt på vilken typ av samtidsfrågor som uttryckligen är relaterade till aktuella händelser rörande språkstriden, hur äktfinskheten och finsk nationalism representeras och hur språkliga skillnader skildras.

Instead of the ordinary identification of the established fictional world with realism and our reality it is suggested that both of the colliding fictional worlds are fictive and that the established one not necessarily need to be realistic. This essay is a comparison according to the ideological thoughts about womens position in the society of Mao Zedong och Josef Stalin. The material I have analysed is writings by Mao and Stalin, in a wide range from leaflets to orders to the armies of the states of China and the Soviet Union. The method I have used is an ideological analysis where the attitude towards women is the target for my survey. The attitude towards women generally was not unified in the world during the time for Mao and Stalin. In many countries the women was intended to take care of the children and the home, not be active in working and fighting.

Globalization has among other tendencies led to the emergence of new ways of doing business. One of the ways for organizations to meet the demands of a new competitive landscape has been through management accounting change, a field which has become increasingly popular in research. This paper builds on that research and seeks to investigate the case of the implementation of a new management accounting system in a Swedish company which was triggered by strategic change. Commonality through the interactive approach is by some researchers seen as a key to successful change. This approach is contrasted to the importance of symbolic constructs and change recipients? cognitive effort to understand the meaning of change for which Framing theory is applied.

Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka hur chefens identitet diskursivt konstrueras i tidningen Chef under perioden 2011-2013 genom att urskilja de diskurser och subjektspositioner som finns i tidningen. Utifrån diskursteori analyseras hur tidningen genom språket konstruerar chefensidentiteten och vilka retoriska tekniker som används för att nå fram till läsaren. Jag kunde urskilja två diskurser som i sin tur erbjöd fyra subjektspositioner. De övergripande diskurserna var den humanistiska diskursen och den affärsmässiga diskursen och de fyra subjektspositionerna benämns medmänniskan, inspiratören, den starke och den affärsmässige. Med detta som utgångspunkt diskuteras hur chefens identitet konstrueras i tidningen Chef samt hur de båda diskurserna påverkar chefen och dess position gentemot organisationen och medarbetarna..

Trots ett allt mer urbaniserat samhälle går tillväxten i Sveriges glesbygder framåt. Att näringslivets satsningar på mindre orter kan vara avgörande för hela regioners fortlevnad skapade ett intresse hos oss för vad som attraherar företag att etablera sig på dessa mindre orter. Detta utmynnande i vår problemformulering; vilka drivkrafter har ett marknadsdrivande företag till etablering på mindre ort.Ett aktuellt fall av ett marknadsledande företags etablering på en mindre ort, är IKEA och deras val av etablering i Haparanda. Detta har både uppmärksammats och ifrågasatts varför vi fann sakfrågan intressant och givande att utreda.Syftet med vår studie är att identifiera och undersöka de bakomliggande faktorerna till Ikeas etablering i Haparanda. Våra delsyften är att utreda de avgörande faktorerna, undersöka hur företagets position på marknaden har påverkat beslutet samt hur Haparanda kommun har arbetat för IKEA:s etablering.Den process som bäst beskriver vår arbetsgång kallas för iterativ strategi.

Vidare användes semistrukturerade intervjuer för datainsamlingen. Uppsatsens teoretiska referensram baseras på ämnesspecifika begrepp samt den internationella och svenska oberoenderegleringen.
