Many people choose to live in urban environments. Since everyday life in many cities is characterized by a high pace it is important that good recreational areas, with the possibility of recovery, are available to the population.This paper is based on a case study of Växjö city park, which is the area surrounding the lake Växjösjön. The park and the lake are of great importance to the citizens. The lake Växjösjön has for a long time been affected by eutrophication, which has caused major problems as algal blooms and fish mortality. An extensive lake restoration was carried out in the 1990s in order to save the lake.

Tycho Hedéns Väg in Uppsala has evolved from being a through fare passage and highwayto the oversized road frame running through the city it is today. At the present time, dueto the relocation of the E4 highway east of Uppsala, Tycho Hedéns road creates a barrierbetween the north eastern area of Uppsala and the remaining parts of the city centre. Theroad is designed to endure heavy traffic and high speed limits, generating a surrounding urbanarea were inhabitants are complied to follow the standards set for a high traffic-accessibleenvironment. Furthermore, the heavy traffic has led to the turning of both urban roadsidesaway from the actual road. The aim of this project and proposal is to show the possibilities ofhow the innate features of Tycho Hedéns road can be used more advantageously to mend thecity area of Uppsala.

För att möta konsumenterna där de befinner sig har företag nu följt efter kunderna till de sociala medierna. I strävan efter att öka sin lönsamhet har företag tagit tillvara på sociala medier som en ny och effektiv e-handelskanal, en verksamhet som fått namnet social commerce. Social commerce är ett nytt fenomen i Sverige och handlar om försäljning av varor och tjänster via sociala medier. Vårt mål med denna studie är att undersöka anledningarna till varför några svenska företag har valt att använda sociala medier som en plattform för sin e-handel samt klargöra vad det är som gör att sociala medier är en lämplig plattform för e-handel.

Skälby park is situated approximately 2,5 km northwest of the central parts of Kalmar and is one of fi ve town part parks. Originally Skälby consisted of a village of four farms. In 1965 the municipality in Kalmar bought Skälby and the agriculture ceased to appear. The land was parcelled out into plots and new roads. Only the area surrounding the old buildings remained, turned to a park.

Many scientists? today stress the importance that ecosystem resilience is promoted by biodiversity conservation and that we need to find solutions for local ecosystem management practices.This essay aims to find theoretical approaches and perspectives that can be used in a wider framework to study co-operative processes between the local (agent) and regional (structure) level.

Bakgrund och problemdiskussion: Att förändra en gammal institutionsmiljö till en ny bärande idé kan på flera sätt ge effekter som innefattar förändringar i den lokala identiteten. Tecken på dessa förändringar är, när den platsbundna imagen bör vara globalt och estetiskt gångbar, när de nya funktionerna övergår till enbart privat regi samt att det nya samhället blir mer specificerat och i värsta fall segregerat.Syftet: Utifrån begreppet gentrifiering syftar uppsatsen till att undersöka hur en gammal institutionsmiljö som Långbro park gentrifieras samt varför. Undersökningen vill se om det finns ett samband mellan Långbro sjukhus tidigare estetiska och funktionella gestaltning och dagens tankar runt konceptet Långbro park och dess utveckling. Undersökningen tar även upp om det finns några omständigheter som har styrt dessa gentrifieringsprocesser och vem/vilka har i så fall haft intresse i områdets progression.Metod: Granskningen av Långbro park utgår från teoretiska källor som berör stadsutveckling, kulturhistorisk miljö, gentrifiering av ett gammalt sjukhusområde, modern grannskapsenhetstanke samt social-, estetiska- funktionella-, ideologiska- och ikoniska aspekter runt Långbro parks struktur, estetiska utformning och funktioner. Studiens teoretiska utgångspunkt värderar främst normativt och moraliskt hur samhället konstruerar nya platser och hur dessa har utformats utifrån globala, statliga och privata intressen.

Several cities have implemented various projects to improve traffic safety in city centers.During 1970s and 1980s the city centers changed as the suburbs grew and large shopping centers were located outside the center. At the same time, several projects were initiated with construction of pedestrian streets and restriction of traffic in the center. In year 1994,shared-used areas were introduced in Sweden and these areas are often used in center environments.In Sweden, municipalities are responsible for integrating security in public places and in comprehensive plans and detailed development plans. The National Board of Housing,Building and Planning is the authority for administrating planning issues and develop general guidance about planning. Traffic is one of their key issues, although today there are no concrete guidelines from the National Board of Housing, Building and Planningfor the design of traffic safety in city centers.Traffic safety in city centers affects many people because the city center is a public place.It is therefore important that there are current guidelines available that are helpful for changes and improvements in traffic safety in the city center.The purpose of this report is to formulate guidelines for planning city centers from a traffic safety perspective.

In today?s hectic society more and more people experience stress and our lifestyle gives us a very limited chance to recover. For some it sometimes goes that far that they get burnt-out, they have pushed themselves to the ultimate limit. There are different methods and treatments to recover but one very efficient treatment is to spend time in a rehabilitation garden. There the patients get treated by therapeutics that uses the garden as the main tool.The fact that gardens and parks have a positive effect on humans have been used by people for a long time but it?s not until recently that the research has taken speed.

Taking a qualitative approach, this research investigates different theories and methods for creating parks that people will cherish and visit during their daily life. It also takes on the task to understand how principles of developing recreational values in a small forest is affected by the addition of a new element to the landscape, i.e. a major highway. Data was collected through the combination of focused literature review and study trips. This provided a framework which in turn was applied to the subject of the study, i.e.

Det här kandidatarbetet handlar om Barsebäcks gods och dess parks historia. Godset har en historia som sträcker sig ända tillbaka på 1400-talet och kom i familjen Hamiltons ägor år 1743, köparen var Gustaf David Hamilton. Parken har haft en hel del skepnader under århundradena som speglar dess historiska storhet. Fram till år 1889 hade parken lindalléer, vallgravar och bestod av parterrer. Men år 1889 gjordes parken om till den stil som kallas ?Engelsk lustpark ? och det var även under denna tid som slottet byggdes om. Jag har sammanställt de ritningar och texter av bland annat Burman- Fischer, Barfod, Carl Hårleman, Adolf Fredrik Barnekow och Carl von Linne, för att få ett historiskt perspektiv över godset. Man ser tydligt att alla har haft sin egen syn på godset samt egna förslag på hur man skulle ha kunnat förbättra det. Den Engelska lustparken tog sin form i England i början på 1700-talet och spred sig över Europa och nådde Sverige på 1800-talet.

Along with the rapid expansion of wind power in Sweden during the last decades the competition about favorable areas has hardened. This among other reasons has caused the projectors to look into development of wind power in forests. There are several aspects regarding fatigue loads on the constructions that are severe in complex terrain, among which turbulence is one. The levels of turbulence which are accepted in order for the turbines to face a life length exceeding 20 years are regulated by the International Electrotechnical Commission, (IEC). In order to keep the turbulence below these levels there are three major steering tools to use: The ambient turbulence decreases with height and can therefore be regulated by the hub height of the turbines.

Animal welfare during transport has for a long time been a problem around the world. Many animals are transported in stressful environments for slaughter. Even during Roman and Antiquity times wild animals were transported from Africa to the amusement parks in Rome. The aim of our work was to compare how well Sweden and Denmark are performing their inspections of transports of cattle and pigs for slaughter. Today, overloaded transports and poor treatment is not uncommon in Europe and every year 22 million animals are transported between countries.

They can probably take in some, but I think there are more effective ways of planning for the blind and sight disabled allowing them to explore using their tactile senses. The environment is vital for children?s development.

This Master Thesis is a product development project that has been carried out in cooperation withLappset Sweden AB.The purpose has been to develop a group of products suited for parks andtraditional playground locations. The specific target area has been courtyards of newly builtresidential areas. (These pieces of open land resemble glades that can be found in the forest,which in Swedish is called ?gläntan? and has given name to the product family). Therefore thedesign should match contemporary architecture.
