The purpose of this study is to examine the view of Swedish language teachers on the role of fiction and of school libraries within the compulsory school?s teaching of Swedish of form 6-9. The questions to be answered are:? What part do Swedish language teachers (hereafter called teachers) think fiction is playing regarding the pupils inclination to read and reading promotion?? What is the attitude of teachers regarding the function of fiction in the Swedish subject?? What do teachers consider being the role of the school library in education, and can this be related to the local school library resources?To answer the questions a questionnaire was sent out to thirty-five teachers. Four qualitative interviews were also carried out among the fourteen teachers that answered the questionnaire.

Archbishop KG Hammar has attracted attention for his liberal position in theology. His view on the role of language and communication is central in several books and articles he has published as leader of the Church of Sweden. Today the right of the child to participate freely in cultural life and the arts is a goal on the political agenda. As a consequence, in 2011, twenty-six government agencies and institutions of culture were assigned to formulate strategies for activities for children and young people. These strategies are the empirical basis of this thesis. The aim of the study is to elaborate and problematize three issues concerning children?s culture from the viewpoint of a social constructionist understanding of childhood as constructed in various, often political, practices.

This essay aims to investigate how Swedish Public Libraries market their activities in video games for youths. It also highlights how the library, on the basis of the unique opportunities of the video game medium, can develop this marketing to build a relationship with youths. The empiric evidence is based on a survey of answers given by 30 librarians responsible for video game collections, and qualitative telephone interviews with three of them. The essay?s theoretical framework is based on Philip Kotler and his co-authors? marketing theory which consists of five stages: Marketing research, segmentation, marketing mix, implementation and development.

Alla delar i Ulrich och Brockbanks modell för HR- medarbetares roller ingår i relativt stor utsträckning i personalvetarens yrkesroll. Vanligast är rollen som strategisk partner och rollen som funktionsexpert. Att en stor del av respondenterna innehar majoriteten av Ulrich och Brockbanks roller visar även att yrkesrollen för en stor del av respondenterna är komplex. När det gäller det strategiska personalarbetets betydelse för yrkesrollen tenderar personalchefer att inneha en strategisk position, sett som del i ledningsgrupp. Strategiska arbetsuppgifter och roller har en stor del i yrkesrollen för samtliga personalvetare.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate how gender and sexuality are made in the videogames Prince of Persia and Fable II, and more specifically to look at possibilities and limitations for the construction of gender and sexuality in these games. I understand videogames as an interactive media form that differs from other types of media like film and literature. It is a media form that depends on a player to be played. At the same time it is constituted by rules of how it can be played. I have analyzed my material by a method called close-playing.

Nina Johansson starts her essay by making some examples of dreams to show the diversity of the ?dream world?. She speaks of how all humans dream, that it ties us together. She wants to translate the ?feeling of dreams? into wearable objects, and to be able to do that, she must try and describe what that feeling consists of.

Sammanfattning Uppsatsen ställer frågan om hur stort handlingsutrymme Peugeots återförsäljare har att anpassa sin marknadsföring. Vi beskriver utförligt Peugeots organisation och position inom bilbranschen för att ge läsaren en god bakgrundsförståelse för de förutsättningar under vilka återförsäljarna verkar i Sverige. Därefter redovisas resultatet av den empiriska undersökningen vi genomfört, baserad på kvalitativa intervjuer med sex svenska Peugeotåterförsäljare. Empirianalysen och tillhörande relevant teori delas upp i fyra temakapitel. Därefter följer de slutsatser som vi kunnat dra av den samlade informationen.

The subject of this thesis is the position of the story or activity rooms at the main libraries in Skåne, a province in the south of Sweden. The questions that are asked and answered are: Which of the main libraries has a story room? What do the rooms look like? How are the rooms used? Which is the relation between the form and the function of the rooms? and, finally, How do the libraries themselves present and describe their story rooms?.

Med utgångspunkt i FN:s Millenniemål om att stärka kvinnors position och öka jämställdheten har jag undersökt hur detta kan appliceras på det svenska samhället. Denna uppsatsen handlar om fyra kvinnor på universitetet. Denna studie syftar till att undersöka maktrelationen mellan elever i idrottsundervisningen. Detta görs för att få en bild av hur elevers interagerande skapar olika maktpositioner samt för att få en bild av hur maktutövandet tar sig uttryck. Den första av de två frågeställningar som vi utgått från lyder: Vilka tekniker och strategier för maktutövande kommer till uttryck i elevernas interagerande med varandra under idrottslektionerna? Den andra frågeställningen är: Vilka olika roller, så kallade subjektspositioner, skapas av eleverna i maktrelationen dem emellan?Som teoretisk bakgrund ligger bland annat Foucaults teori om makt. Med grund i denna har vi utgått från att idrottsanläggningen och idrottsundervisningen är en särskild kontext som ger utrymme för vissa handlingar.

This study examines the theories about intervention and sovereignty in relation to the world of today, with the raising question about humanitarian intervention in a globalized society.The purpose of this paper is to examine if intervention can be justified in a sovereign state and how it can be justified. The expected outcome is that conclusion can be drawn from the specific case with United Nations intervention in Bosnia and Hercegovina, and what kind of motives they putted up to justify their intervention.Because we are still living in the era of the Westphalia system with the inherited thoughts of state sovereignty, but in conflict with the new ideas of globalization and human rights, it?s of big relevance to look at this topic closer.First of all the reader is presented to the theoretical aspects of state, sovereignty and different kinds of intervention, to become more aware of the complications surrounding the relationship between these conceptions.The method used in this study is a motive analysis with the focus on the motives told by United Nation, to be the reason for the intervention in Bosnia and Hercegovina. The empirical results are based on the reports from United Nations Security Council during the years 1991 ? 1995.The results are that the intervention in Bosnia and Hercegovina can be justified when looking at the theories in relation to the empirical result, with the FN ? charter and the fact of violation against humanitarian law and human rights.One conclusion can easily be drawn, that individual rights are playing a big role in today?s global society and are putting some pressure on the United Nation to look over the rules about humanitarian intervention..

The aim of this study is to investigate methods of collection development, the users? influence on selection and quality aspects, focusing on non-fiction literature in Swedish public libraries. To find out opinions of collection development, I use the method comparative literature study. Antonio Gramsci?s concept hegemony forms the theoretical background, and hegemony as concept is related to a library context by using Maj Klasson?s text on the librarians? different positions of authorities.
