Malmö Kommunala Bostadsbolag Fastighets AB owns and administrates Örtagården housing estate in Rosengård which is a characteristic million programme housing area. Örtagården is densely populated which naturally creates an environment that is exposed to wear and tear. The area is today undergoing a change where new proposals and strategies are to be designed for further development of the inner yards. MKB also wishes to develop the park area which is centrally situated in Örtagården. The purpose of this study was to make an analysis of the development of Örtagårdsparken from when it was planned and constructed up until the state it is in today.

The target group of the study was employees (eleven), their managers (seven) as well as co-ordinators (two) of a maintenance department at a nuclear power plant. The training program lasted from December 2009 to May 2010. The study was in progress as of September 2009 when a decision was made at the maintenance department?s training board to carry out the evaluation.

This thesis was commissioned by Tekniska verken, Energy Division with the overall aim to investigate the concept of environmental debt and what it means for a business. Furthermore, a sustainable risk and responsibility investigation shall be carried out on the concerned areas. Finally, the priority areas shall be highlighted and proposed actions presented. The Swedish Environmental debt concept was presented in 1992 by Arne Jarnelöv. Environmental debt is defined as restoration costs for environmental damage. In the early days the concept did not take into account who was responsible, but the environmental debts was regarded as a humanity debt to future generations.

Bogsår är en form av trycksår och uppstår då underliggande vävnad bryts ned som ett resultat av långvarigt tryck. Problemen drabbar främst lakterande suggor som spenderar stor del av tiden liggande. Bogsåren uppträder som synliga sår på suggans bogparti och är diskutabelt såväl ur en djurvälfärdsmässig liksom ur en livsmedelshygienisk aspekt. Arbetet bygger på tre delar, en litteraturstudie, en omvärldsanalys och en beteendestudie. Enligt litteraturen är uppkomsten av bogsår multifaktoriell och beror på dels djurrelaterade faktorer (hull, ålder, sjukdom, tidigare förekomst av bogsår och ras etc.) samt på miljörelaterade riskfaktorer (årstid, fukt, golvtyp och värme etc.).

Biodiversity consists of all life on Earth and in all forms. Biodiversity is often discussed at three levels: ecosystem, species and genetic variation within species. Biodiversity also provides many of the ecosystem services performed by nature and that we depend on, including cultural services such as aesthetic values, education and recreation. In Sweden the environmental objectives are central; there are 16 environmental quality objectives, and "A rich plant and animal life" is one of them. Conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity is a prerequisite for achieving also most other environmental objectives. Another environmental quality objective that is tied to a rich biodiversity in cities and biodiversity is "Good built environment" where cities, towns and other built environment should provide a good living habitat and contribute to a good environment.

GE Healthcare operates in Uppsala (Sweden) and develops systems, equipments and medium to purify medical substances. Discussions with the local authority concerning planed far-reaching changes and upgrades of the biological process techniques for sewage management, aroused the question about revising the terms of permit for the activity. Therefore it seemed necessary to evaluate a newly installed biological process technique, which is the background of this thesis. The evaluated biological treatment process was built in 2003 and consists of a biological reactor filled with moving bed carriers with a high surface area for biological growth. At the time of the project the biological wastewater treatment plant consisted of a flow equalization facility and two following parallel biological processes; a biological reactor with moving bed carriers and a tower trickling filter.The aim of this thesis was to survey the function of the biological reactor with respect to the reduction of organic matter.

Hedesunda reningsverk är beläget i södra delen av Gävle kommun och hanterar avloppsvatten från Hedesunda samhälle och ett fåtal närbelägna byar. Antalet anslutna personer är strax över 1500. Reningsverket byggdes på 1960-talet och byggdes om i slutet av 1990-talet. Vid ombyggnaden anlades torkbäddar för avvattning av det slam som produceras vid reningsverket. Inledningsvis fungerade dessa torkbäddar bra men sedan 2005 har slammet i bäddarna inte avvattnats i önskad omfattning. Syftet med detta examensarbete var att utreda hur slamavvattningen i Hedesunda ska se ut i framtiden.

Avfall och fossila bränslen står för två svåra miljöproblem i världen idag. I takt med att populationen ökar i världen ökar konsumtion och därmed avfallsmängden men också användningen av fossila bränslen. När avfallsmängden ökar växer också behovet för sofistikerade avfallsbehandlingsmetoder och när fossila bränslen fortsätter att dominera energimarknaden så krävs alternativa bränslen. Detta arbete har utförts i syfte att utforska en metod där båda dessa problem hanteras på ett nytänkande sätt. En förgasningsprocess där avfall förgasas och vätgas kan extraheras ur den syntetiska gasen är en ny väg att utforska en avfallshantering där produkten dessutom kan användas som substitut till fossila bränslen.Förgasning är en kemisk återvinningsmetod där ett kolbaserat substrat oxideras i en miljö med begränsad eller ingen tillgång till syre.

Detta examensarbete har genomförts vid LKAB:s anrikningsverk i Kiruna, där produktionssektion 24 har studerats. Denna sektion maler tillsatsmedel, som används vid tillverkningen av pellets. Projektets fokusering har legat på att ta fram konkreta förslag på förändringar som kan förbättra styrningen av produktionen, uppnå en jämnare produktkvalitet och en bättre arbetsmiljö för personalen. Projektet började med en grundläggande studie av nuläget, för att kunna identifiera de problem som finns idag. Metoder som användes till denna studie var arbetsstudier, intervjuer, kontroller av produktkvalitén och studie- och benchmarkingbesök.

När en underjordskonstruktion byggs är det viktigt att veta hur bergmassan reagerar vid uttag av berg. Om exempelvis taket skadas eller går i brott kan det med tiden medföra ett ras. En bergmekanisk analys i projekteringsstadiet ger information om hur hålrummet lämpligen bör utformas, preliminärt bedöms också var och hur mycket förstärkning som krävs för att minimera risken för att berg ska falla ut. Ett av de verktyg som ofta används vid en bergmekanisk analys är numerisk modellering. Genomförandet av numerisk modellering är ofta ett ställningstagande mellan beräkningstid och noggrannhet.

To perform a historical record of Beijers Park's development to date is about securing the tracks back in time. The historical record about the park tells not only the history of the park but the city, district, local residents and art of gardening. As the historical story is documented the necessary base for establishment of any care plans in the future and the base for cultural and historical value the park is made. Beijers park can in such work be treated alone or as part of the context of parks that were built during the same era in Malmö's history.Beijers park origin from the era of the late 1800s, when the entire green structure in Malmö changed. The park area today covers 12 hectares and is located in the district Kirseberg.
