Light pollution in urban areas - How to prevent light pollution at construction Jakob Sjöling Light pollution is a relatively new but rapidly growing form of pollution. Society's increasing demand for light coupled with the pace at which lighting technology evolves is accelerating that growth. The purpose of this study was to analyse how the construction industry plan and design outdoor lighting when erecting new buildings, specifically with regards to the issue of light pollution. It also investigated how local authorities work with these issues during urban planning. In both cases special interest was placed in ways to improve the planning and use of outdoor lighting in order to minimize light pollution.

AbstractIn the secondary-school program for hotel and restaurant complete courses or parts of courses are placed in workplaces so called workplace education (APU), this means that the content in the course plan must be discussed and be divided in a proper way between the school and the workplace, so that the students is gaining all the parts that is prescribed in the goals for the course.Interviews with tutors and teachers have been performed, with the purpose of investigating how the collaboration between the school and the workplaces should look like so that the APU fulfills the content and quality that are prescribed in the specifications of the education. The study shows that a better structure for collaboration between the school and the workplaces is needed. Lack of time and financial resources are the factors that according to the study reduces the possibility?s to (among other things) perform education of tutors, and for the teachers to plan and follow-up the APU-period..

The purpose of this qualitative study is to investigate how some teachers make use of the results of the national tests in mathematics to plan their teaching. The questions are how they plan their teaching in mathematics and if they use the results of the national tests to compare with their own teaching.   Five teachers in mathematics has been interviewed. I have used unstructured interviews with open-ended questions, and I have been able to ask follow-up questions based on their answers. The analysis of the survey is made from a systems theory approach.  The result of the survey shows that teachers make use of student performance to look at their own teaching of the current group of students. However, there is not enough time to rehearse and repair the deficiencies discovered in the national tests, which for some is perceived as a stress factor.

If you want your message to be successful you have to plan your communication and also evaluate the result. The administration of health and care in Karlstad had already planned and performed an information campaign, ?Vård & omsorg ? Mer än ett jobb? (translation ?Health & care ? More than a job?), and therefore we got the assignment to investigate the rate of success.The investigation is based on both theory and empiric.

Vårt syfte med detta arbete är att se hur pedagoger använder sig utav böcker i förskolan för att främja barnens språkutveckling. De flesta vet att böcker är bra för språkutvecklingen, men hur används detta i praktiken? Vi har valt att göra intervjuer på två olika förskolor med fyra olika pedagoger för att se hur de arbetar och utifrån vilket syfte. Det resultat vi fick fram av de pedagoger vi intervjuade, är att pedagogera är ense om att böckerna är ett viktigt redskap i språkutvecklingen och utvecklingen i stort hos barn. De vet att språkutvecklingsmässigt får barnen ut mycket av läsning.

This essay is a study about the school introduction of immigrant pupils in the Swedish compulsory school. The purpose if this study is to examine the organisation municipal school introduction for immigrant pupils in the compulsory school in Södertälje. The method I have used is qualitative research method which depends on interviews and analysis of documents.The result shows that the municipal is without a plan for the school introduction of the immigrant pupils and that the individual compulsory school has the main responsibility for the school introduction of the immigrant pupils. The result also shows that there is a need of increased teaching of mother tongue. There is also a need of competence development within intercultural pedagogy.My conclusions are that a municipal plan for the school introduction of immigrant pupils should increase the immigrant pupils? possibility to a shorter time of introduction to the compulsory school..

The purpose of this master thesis is to study the correlation and meaning of current ideas and practice at the public library of Gothenburg. This was done by comparing the visions and ideas expressed by the library through the library plan, with how the daily practice looks. For the theoretical framework organizational theory is used and research data was collected both from public documents and through observations. The public library of Gothenburg were chosen for the study because of it's newly renovated facilities. The idea is that these facilities make a suitable study object of the current ideas and priorities of the public Swedish library in general.The results show that the public library practice in Sweden still rests on the original public library ideas such as offering information for free and treating every user as equal.

In 2009 The National Land Survey of Sweden, Lantmäteriet, commenced a project intended to provide a new digital elevation model (DEM) of Sweden. The method chosen for the project was airborne laser scanning (ALS). In addition to information about the land surface the project will also provide information about the forest, this as a by-product. This data can be used to estimate forest variables such as height and volume. The estimates are often more reliable than what is standard today. This study is based on interviews with employees and members of the forest owner association Södra in southern Sweden.

The purpose with this essay is to examine the Liberal Party and the Left Party´s views on homework, if the parties considers that homework affects the schools plan for equivalence and if the parties disagreement can be related to their different ideologies. To answer the purpose I have used following questions: How do the Liberal Party and the Left Party define the concept of homework?, What is the purpose of homework in primary schools according to the Liberal Party and the Left Party?, What are the arguments for and against homework and do homework affects the schools plan for equivalence according to the parties? and Can the parties' views on homework be related to their respective ideologies? The method used is a qualitative textual analysis with focus on the idea analysis. The material consist of relevant newspaper articles, news and debate clips and the parties various party programs, during the time frame of 2006-05-31 - 2013-10-14. To answer the purpose I also used different types of discourse theories, equivalence theory and the ideologies liberalism and reformist socialism as theories.The results shows that the Liberal Party and the Left Party have different views about what a homework should be considered as and that both parties thinks that homework can affect the schools plan for equivalence, but they have different perceptions about how.

Urbana enbostadshus såsom, stadsradhus och townhouses, har på senare år blivit en alltmer populär bebyggelsetyp hos såväl efterfrågan som utbud på bostadsmarknaden. Denna typologi härstammar i traditionella urbana strukturer och har en hög grad av arkitektonisk variation som ett resultat av att många olika aktörer varit involverade i byggandet.Idag finns indikationer på en stor vilja till personligt utformade bostäder. Trots det är nyproduktionen av bostäder ofta standardiserad och plan- och byggnadsprocessen erbjuder få möjligheter att påverka bostädernas utformning. Teoretiskt erbjuder urbana enbostadshus goda möjligheter för privatpersoner att bygga sina egna hus och därmed en hög grad av personlig utformning.I denna uppsats studeras tre projekt med urbana enbostadshus som nyligen genomförts i tre olika städer. Studien berör små aktörers delaktighet och möjlighet att påverka plan- och byggprocessen samt diskuterar för- och nackdelar hos de strukturer som skapats.Slutsatserna är att möjligheterna till deltagande har varit relativt små i de tre projekten.

Detta examensarbete har utförts i samarbete Statens Fastighetsverk. I dagsläget pågår renoveringen av Nationalmuseum där byggnaden skall återställas till sitt ursprung och ett nytt ventilationssystem skall tillgodose ett stabilt inneklimat för bevarandet av museiföremålen. Examensarbetet undersöker hur de krav som ställs på ventilationssystemet kan kombineras med de begränsningar som byggnadens kulturminnesmärkning medför genom att besvara frågan ?Hur kombinerar man dagens behov av installationer med en kulturhistorisk byggnad utan att påverka det kulturhistoriska värdet?? För att exemplifiera denna problematik presenterar vi ett principiellt lösningsförslag för installationssamordningen till en utvald del av byggnaden.Ventilationsförsörjningen till utställningssalarna på Plan 4 utgör ett av de svåraste samordningsområdena i byggnaden. Det valda utrymmet för lösningsförslaget är bjälklaget på Plan 6 som skall försörja en av dessa salar.

Alltsedan den målstyrda läroplanen (lpo 94) och kursplanerna introducerades i mitten av nittiotalet har det pågått en debatt om svårigheten med att tolka styrdokumenten och omsätta dem i praktiken. Både Skolverket och skolforskare är ense om att lärare behöver tydligare riktlinjer för hur man bör arbeta med dokumenten. Med utgångspunkt i detta har jag valt att undersöka hur en grupp lärare i grundskolans senare del arbetar med läroplanen och kursplanerna i planeringen av sin undervisning. Uppsatsen bygger på fem kvalitativa intervjuer där jag undersöker likheter och skillnader mellan hur dessa lärare använder styrdokumenten i planeringsprocessen, och därefter analyserar jag intervjuresultaten utifrån ett kritiskt perspektiv för att på detta sätt försöka belysa fördelar och nackdelar med den målstyrda skolan. Resultatet från intervjuundersökningen visar att lärare tolkar styrdokumenten mycket olika.

Jällaskolans upper secondary School is situated on a big farm just outside Uppsala. The School is focused on agriculture, forestry, gardening, animal care and science. Jällaskolans staff has whished for a school garden for educational purpose where students can practice their gardening skills and learn more about plants. But most important, a specially adapted outside environment such as a garden, would be a great advantage for the students with special needs. This garden could even be an asset for other visiting school classes in the region.

Positionsbestämning med hjälp av satelliter kan idag göras med olika metoder. En metod som i realtid ger en mätosäkerhet på centimeternivå heter nätverks-RTK. Det som gör att nätverks-RTK ger en låg mätosäkerhet är att de felkällor som påverkar GNSS-mätning reduceras eller elimineras med hjälp av en interpolerad korrektionsmodell vid mottagarens position. Korrektionsmodellen skapas med hjälp av data från de fasta referensstationer som finns i närheten av GNSS-mottagaren. SWEPOS® är ett nät av referensstationer som finns i hela Sverige och erbjuder en nätverks-RTK-tjänst där det kan förväntas en mätosäkerhet på omkring 15 mm (1s) i plan och omkring 25 mm (1s) i höjd (över ellipsoiden).
