This paper is partially a literature study of human error and interruptions and partially an investigation of Pilots and Air Traffic Control. The aim of the investigation was to find out where interruptions occur and how to reduce or eliminate them. The objective of this paper was to investigate what type of interruptions Pilots and ATC deals with and during which phases they occur. The paper has revealed that private Pilots causes more interruptions for ATC personnel than commercial Pilots. The cause for this is probably the less experienced private pilot and the fact that Swedish is used before English by private Pilots in communication with ATC.

Modern air battles are very dynamic and fast, and put extreme pressure on Pilots. In some unpredictable situations, like new discovered threats or mission plan deviation because of enemy aircraft, the Pilots might need to replan their predefined flight route. This is very difficult, if not impossible, to do since numerous factors affect it. A system that can help the Pilots to do such a thing is needed. Previous work in this field has involved methods from artificial intelligence like A*-search.

The aim is to find out how teachers apply the knowledge they get from mathematics Pilots in preschool and from mathematics developer in the municipality, as well as how they work further towards the children with mathematics.The study is based on qualitative interviews with two teachers, one mathematic pilot and one mathematic developer. I used the semi-structured interview questions.The results show that teachers believe that mathematics Pilots will inspire the teachers in their work with mathematics in preschool. One of the teachers who were interviewed said:?Mathematics Pilots should be those that have the strongest glasses and coming up with new ideas and they push the rest of the teachers in their work with mathematics in relation to children in preschool?.The teachers use the correct terms for mathematical concepts with the children. They also stressed how important it is to point out to the kids that it is mathematics that they are doing.The conclusion of the study is that the teachers agree that it is their approach towards the children that is important and how they can lead the children?s interest of mathematics forward.

A study of communication content, frequency and problems was performed at the Swedish Air Force Air Combat Simulation Centre, FLSC. The purpose was to investigate the connection between team communication and performance variables, to study communication problems during air combat and to employ and develop the PILOT method of communication problem analysis. Ten fighter Pilots and four fighter controllers engaged in simulated air combat beyond visual range in teams on two sides, Blue and Red, with four Pilots and one fighter controller each. Eight such training runs lasting 15 to 25 minutes were analyzed with regard to the Blue team?s communication during launch situations, i.e.

The first estimation method, Optimal Feed-forward Channel Estimation (OFCE), is a conventional method that bases the estimates on data that is known to both sender and receiver, so called Pilots. The second method, Decision Directed Channel Estimation (DDCE), is an elaboration of OFCE. It also uses user data for estimation. Simulations show that DDCE, in comparison to OFCE, does not attain an improvement in signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) for high bit error rates (BER).

The SK 60 Aircraft has been a workhorse for the Air Force?s training of future Pilots since the late 1960s. The aging SK60 aircraft is going out of style, and the system has merely a few years of total running time left. A replacement for the SK 60 needs to be implemented in the coming years, and the Armes Forces Flying School has been commissioned to conduct flight tests on suitable replacement systems. This study will conduct a system analysis of two aircrafts mentioned in the Flying Schools report.

An improvement is only seen when the BER becomes much lower than what is common in real situations. In conclusion DDCE is complicated, involves many mathematical operations and gives insignificant improvement of SNR when BER takes common values. It is legitimate to question if it is possible to use the method in a real mobile phone system..

Scientific studies show that good leadership is a key factor for group- and individual development. Studies have also shown that the contrary can curb talented individuals and/or cause stagnation, or even cause groups to halt their progression. This essay studies how leaders in musical and athletic environments look on their own leadership. In interviews, the leaders reflect upon experienced issues related to their profession, their views on difficulties in their leading role, as well as individual, and group development. This study also includes two observations, one in each field of profession.

This thesis describes the evaluation of a prototype (Illustrator) for future simulator training of Within Visual Range - combat in the Swedish Air Force. The main focus was to collect and transform user acceptance data (expert opinions) to useful guidelines for continued development. Thirteen active fighter Pilots participated in the study. The aim was to use expert opinion to study a) the psychological user acceptance, and b) the technical user acceptance, of the Illustrator together with c) gathering opinions for future improvement. Three psychological aspects were rated before and after the sessions to measure psychological user acceptance.

Sammanfattning:Det svenska flygvapnet har lång erfarenhet av simulatorer och de används för pilotutbildning och träning inom många av de flygsystem som flygvapnet opererar. Dock visar statistik på att nyttjandegraden av dessa anläggningar inte är fullständig. Det tillsammans med att det i vissa fall saknas en tydlig och tillräcklig inriktning för verksamheten, väcker frågor kring hur effektivt simulatorerna egentligen används.Syftet med denna uppsats var att undersöka om piloter som tjänstgör på en insatsdivision i det svenska flygvapnet upplever att deras träning i simulatorer tillför något till deras kunnande och utveckling, samt hur deras upplägg och genomförande av träningen i själva verket ser ut.Undersökningen genomfördes som kvalitativa intervjuer med insatspiloter under en träningsperiod i Flygvapnets Luftstridssimuleringscenter (FLSC). Deras svar analyserades sedan med hjälp av operationella indikatorer härledda ur såväl allmänna träningsteorier som mer specifika forskningsresultat kopplade till simulatorers egenskaper i sig.Resultatet visar att piloterna anser att simulatorer är ett värdefullt komplement till deras flygträning och om flygvapnets simulatorer nyttjas på ett ineffektivt sätt, beror det med stor sannolikhet inte på insatspiloternas inställning till simulatorträning eller bristande kunskaper hos dessa kring hur simulatorer bör användas..

År 2002 uppmärksammade ungdomspsykiatriska avdelningar barn som i folkmun kom att kallas "de apatiska barnen". Regeringen initierade 2004 en nationell översyn av det växande problemet. Syftet för denna uppsats är därmed att beskriva och granska kunskapsläget inom de medicinska, psykologiska och sociala forskningsfältet kring apati hos asylsökande barn i ett nationellt och internationellt perspektiv. Syftet är vidare att analysera hur man kan förstå den offentliga och mediala diskursen och hur den konstrueras utifrån ett konflikt- och maktperspektiv. För att synliggöra hur den offentliga och mediala diskursen konstrueras genomförs en kontrovers- och maktanalys.

Syftet med denna uppsats var att undersöka om RTK ? tekniken (Real Time Kinematik) i framtiden kan komma att användas vid lotsning i Sverige, ombord på fartyg med begränsat vattendjup under kölen.  Squateffekten påverkar fartyg vid passage över grunda partier i farleder och i kanaler. För att minska ner på squateffekten så kan man minska ned på farten eller ändra fartygets trim. Studien har utformats utefter en kvalitativ metod, som handlar om att man väljer att bearbeta och analysera sin information genom att verbala analysmetoder används. Detta har genomförts genom att intervjua ett antal utvalda lotsar som både är insatta samt mindre insatta i tekniken.
